The interior features an open floor plan, wall to wall tile flooring (bedrooms are carpeted), central heat and air, stainless appliances, flat panel TVs in the bedrooms (32') and living room (55' LED 3D HDTV), cable television service, WiFi, ceiling fans, and stack washer/drier. Furnishings include a queen bed in the master, a trundle twin set bed in the junior, and a sleeper sofa in the living room allowing you to accommodate six people comfortably. The exterior features a large two-level deck with a gas grill, patio furniture, and a foot rinsing spigot upstairs and a wood porch swing, fish cleaning table, and an outdoor shower downstairs.

We had a wonderful time. The house was perfect. Great views and quite neighborhood, kids loved the park and pool. Spent most of the time at the beach. One day at Schlitterbahn waterpark wish we would of bought a two day pass. The air problems in other posts were corrected. Look forward to coming back next year!

Wonderful Getaway Home!

The house is well maintained and in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Jamaica Beach is a perfect area for families or couples who want to get away from the crowded sea wall - but still close enough to drive into town for the attractions and restaurants. It was easy to load up the car and drive two minutes to the nearest beach entrance. Nathan was a wonderful host and responsive to email. I was surprised to find a welcome basket (so rare to find a vacation home that offers this) and was happy to indulge. Our family enjoyed grilling seafood on the patio grill and winding down with a movie - great TV setup. Thanks again, Nathan!

Vacationer tip: If you're the type that is not an early riser, bring a sleeping eye mask as the master bedroom gets quite bright early.

Perfect for our family of 5

Very clean. House has a nice layout. Great location in a nice neighborhood. Loved that we could drive onto the beach or we could walk. We enjoyed the 3D TV and movie channels in the evenings. The house has and was everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. We were very pleased. A few places to eat in the neighborhood or a quick 10 minute drive for more options.

Great budget house, needs a new cleaning service.

We rented this house for a quick trip to the beach at the start of summer. If you are looking for a no-frills budget place, this house was great. The majority of our issues with the home were a result of the cleaning crew and not the owner. The house is nicely furnished and the owner made himself available 24/7 during our stay.


-Close to the beach, we just walked to the beach every day.

-The corner store has a lot of what you need but town also isn't too far of a drive too.

-There was a nice gift basket when we arrived. Great touch.

-Nice back porch but bring chairs, there is only two.

-Downstairs shower area and under awning was great to hang out after spending all day in the sun at the beach.

-Plenty of dishes, cups, cookware, no need to bring your own.


-The house was dirty. There was also about a dozen beer caps around the house and several beer cans that just got left on the ground. Found some trash in the drawers in the bedroom too. The recycling wasn't taken out so we ended up throwing away a lot of recyclable stuff.

-There was only one trash bag. We stayed three nights, one trash bag is not enough.

-There were zero cleaning supplies. Get sand in the house because it's inevitable? Too bad, there is no broom to sweep. Making dinner and get some juice on the floor? Nothing to wipe it up with. Dishes? Have to go by soap to wash them.

-The dishwasher was full of dirt and sand. It was useless. Dishes were dirtier than when they were put in.

-The disposal was clogged when we got there. There was an hex key below the sink that allowed us to clear it with no issues but still something we didn't want to deal with. Note: Did not call the owner about this since it was a quick fix but not a pleasant start to the vacation.

-This is more a complaint to HomeAway/VBRO after talking to the owner. We only wanted to stay two nights. This house is listed as having a two-night minimum. We booked and I got an email from the owner stating that there is actually a four-night minimum that isn't listed on the property page due to a HomeAway/VBRO restriction. The homeowner was nice enough to agree to let us stay three-night; however, it was frustrating for us who ended up spending more than budgeted due to this extra day.

Owner's Response: With respects to the issue of the two-night minimum, as we discussed previously, VRBO requires us to use one number for nightly minimum regardless of what point in the week we're dealing with. The two night minimum is acceptable for weekends obviously, but not for mid-week reservations during the summer as most guests staying mid-week want the whole week (Sun/Mon-Fri). It is mentioned in detail in the "NOTES" section of the listing, a section that is unfortunately more inconspicuous than I would like. To say it is not posted at all in the listing however would be incorrect, and I brought that to your attention prior to accepting your booking AND yielding to your request for a three-night reservation. The issues you presented with respects to the cleaning service's shortcomings have been addressed to the extent that a new cleaning woman is now being utilized by the service at our house. We sincerely apologize for those shortcomings as ultimately it is our responsibility to maintain a tidy property and it is thanks to people like you for bringing these matters to our attention when we would have no way of knowing otherwise barring a surprise inspection.

Saturday check-in/outs are NEVER allowed or considered.

Regular weekends are always a two-night minimum.

Holiday weekends are always a three-night minimum and may be a longer minimum if the holiday falls on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

Weeknight stays are a five-night minimum (Sunday to Friday) unless:

1) One or more weekdays are booked in addition to a weekend stay
2) owner consents to a shorter stay and your check-in and check-out don't create a one-night vacancy on either side of the reservation
3) if there is only a shorter block available during the week. For example if someone has booked a Friday to Sunday before your potential stay and someone booked a Tuesday to Sunday following your stay, a Sunday to Tuesday booking (two-nights) would of course be acceptable.

If you prefer to post a $500 security deposit in lieu of purchasing damage protection insurance, let me know. In that scenario, I will require the greater of $500 or 50% of the booking fee at the time of booking. The balance would be due two weeks prior to checking in. Deposits are held no more than seven (7) days from the date of check-out.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
