Guestbook comments from the owner

Our family is very serious about our beach time. We have visited many beaches from Alabama to New York. Hilton Head is one of our favorites. This property, without a doubt, tops the list of best rental! It was even better than the description. The condo was incredibly clean when we arrived. We were impressed by the high end cookware and utensils. We loved the large deck with the lagoon view. It was the perfect setting for early morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. Overall amazing condo!

Great stay in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We are a family of 4 and took our dog with us. I can't say enough good things about this property. It was exceptionally clean, well equipped, and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable and there were extra pillows and blankets for those who like to load up the bed with extras. The back porch was very relaxing and had a very large gas grill. The kitchen was the best equipped of any rental we have stayed at on HHI. The only thing we found to be needing attention was the glass coffee table in front of the couch. It has a glass top that extends beyond the metal base so, your mind doesn't perceive where the actual edges of the glass is located. Needless to say, that glass edge caught more than a couple of our shins. We ended up putting a beach towel over the table to save our legs. A little thing but, I would definitely change out that table. Overall this was a great stay in a great location. The property management company made the check-in process extremely easy; best I have ever experienced in all of our rentals. Thanks for a great vacation. We will definitely be renting again in the future and requesting this particular property!

Lovely condo, and a huge deck that's very private.

the only downside was the management company failed to send the code to get into the condo and should check on the quality of the housekeepers. Food and clothing items left from the previous tenants and extremely dirty under beds. There were no amenities left as far as bars of soap or shampoo.

Otherwise the beds are comfortable and the condo is appointed very well.

Very impressed.

The property was very clean and comfortable. Palmetto Dunes was a great place to spend a vacation. It's proximity to the beach was good. This is a property that we would be interested in staying again next year.

We had a great time every day in June '17. Weather was great, condo served us well, and there was 6 of us. Enjoyed the nearby pool and the ocean. Not a single detractor to think of.

Enjoyed the seafood at Sea Shack, pizza at Dougboys and donuts at Duck Donuts.

Overall one of the best vacations and places we've ever stayed. We'll be back not just to Hilton Head, but to this condo.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

We visited during Spring Break April 1-April 8. This was our 5th visit to HHI, and we have stayed near Coligny in the past. The location in Palmetto Dunes was great. Close to everything. Can bike fairly easily to anything. Very family friendly and tons of trails. It was a 15 minute walk to the beach and Dunes House (great food), and a 10 minute walk to the General Store. The Palmetto Dunes Buggy was also great to have available to take you around Palmetto Dunes and to Shelter Cove.

The condo was very big and spacious. The back deck is as big as the picture makes it look - however the rocking chairs were not there. The deck made it nice to sit in the sun and also have our dog outside and contained. The management company was very responsive when we needed them.

The negatives on the condo were only a few. The laminate floors are very loud when you walk on them. I would get up with the dog in the morning for a run, and the rest of the condo was awake by the time we left. The front door is very loud when opening it. Master Bed very hard and pillow were uncomfortable - we should have brought ours from home.

The picture of the pool is very deceptive. Much smaller, and to our disappointment - it was not heated. Guess that is the price you pay going in the spring.

The other issue was that Hargray - the cable company was doing a ton of work the entire week in Queens Grant. There were service trucks all over the place and digging holes throughout the neighborhood. Could have been due to the Hurricane, but nonetheless took away from the beauty of the area. This really had nothing to do with this actual rental though

Last point is to watch out for the resident Alligator. He liked to sunbathe right outside of the back deck, so don't step foot off the deck. We heard it is a bit aggressive.

Overall, a good condo for the price, great area to be in, especially if you prefer to do things other than just sit on the beach. We walked, ran and biked over 40 miles for the week. I would consider staying in this condo again, but will definitely stay in Palmetto Dunes again.

Restaurants to recommend: One Hot Mamas, Captain Woodys, Skull Creek Boathouse (dog friendly), and of course Marleys Island Grill. Duck Donuts is a mile walk from the condo, but be ready to wait - they are worth it.

Beautiful, clean and bright!

  • 4 of 5

It's very beautiful with all the lakes. My husband and I celebrated 25 years marriage. There was a surprise bottle of wine. We were able to check in early which was great because we had traveled all night. Our 3 kids had plenty of room to stretch, relax and have fun. It was also one of the only places that allowed us to bring the baby in the family, our dog. She enjoyed watching all the ducks. I'd say the only bummer was that we were not able to swim because the pools were not in season and we didn't realize that. Overall, and in spite of a cold week, we had one of our best vacations ever!
