Complete and Perfect Vacation Resort

  • 5 of 5

This truly is a private resort vacation! My husband, two kids (ages 9 and 6) and I spent 5 days here. From the moment we got off the plane we were treated exceptional. A private shuttle was waiting to take us to the house. We even stopped at the local market and got groceries while he waited. At the house we were amazed! It's clean, comfortable, expansive. We took the ATV out to explore the beaches, enjoyed the (perfectly warm) pool, played in the sand, and relaxed! My husband spent 2 days fishing with Vincente and caught so many fish. In short, this is a perfect house rental for adults, ladies, kids... everyone! We cannot wait to go back!

Where the Desert meets the Ocean

  • 5 of 5

Like no where in the world. Our own private paradise on the Sea of Cortez. For a girl who never thought she'd go fishing.... I was amazed at how I fell in love with (long, scorching hot, uncomfortable) hours on a fishing boat... staring back across the ocean at the East Cape. I've seen whales, sharks, dolphins, tuna, marlin, turtles, mantas, angel fish, tripper, dorado, rooster fish and many more in as little as a single day out on the water!

A sight of the morning sunrise is enough to put you into a calm meditation without even attempting to silence your mind.. Equivalent in beauty is the sunset, which disappears over the desert mountains. The sky lights up with pastel colors of pink, purple, orange and blue. It's an incredible sight from the infinity pool, which acts like a mirror against the sky.

This is simply my favorite place in the world... and the home, well, its paradise.

Heaven on earth!

  • 5 of 5

I spent five days at this amazing estate with my family. I spent the days swimming, tanning, snorkeling, fishing and enjoying my family. I was worried there wouldn't be anything to do, boy was I wrong. We had a big group but we never felt crowded. We ordered food in most nights and had incredible food from the local restaurants. I will only stay at this home on my many visits I plan to have in the future.

Exceeded Expectations

  • 5 of 5

Might I just take a second to say, "Wow!". Now, bear with me for a brief moment. This specific "Wow!" is not something said in vain. This is a deep feeling of emotion presented upon waking up to watch the sunrise over the pool-like water of the Sea of Cortez. Casa Rodriguez has provided me with just that. For one to speak of life-altering experiences, you'd have to first spend time at this beautiful resort-like home. During my time there, I engaged in hose-back riding on the beach to the sunrise, worked on my tan, caught a 350 lb blue marlin, further bonded with family members, was able to put my phone down and feel so entertained and pleased with outside life that I didn't even miss it, and so on. Please try to describe a situation better than drinking a margarita in your own personal swim-up bar that connects to a beautiful infinity pool literally on the beach! The ocean wildlife is beyond exceptional. In fact, upon taking a boat ride, I saw so many sea turtles (an endangered species) that I couldn't even believe they are close to being non-existent. In conclusion, boycott that turned-out place (Cabo) and come and enjoy a real/local experience at Casa Rodriguez. Immerse yourself in the Spanish culture, wave to your fellow townspeople, and feel what paradise is like. You won't regret it, in fact, you will remember it for the rest of your life. Happy Travels!--I know I did so happily.

A real "old time" Mexican fishing village with 5 star accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a 5 day trip with my family to Casa Rodriguez.

First off, I've been going to Mexico since the mid 70's. While I love it, most of my favorite places have turned into tourist traps. But, If you're looking for that old Mexico, laid back relaxing experience, then this is the place! I would describe it as remote elegance. The walled and gated compound surrounds a villa that rivals any St. Regis or Ritz Carlton I've stayed in. From the rooms to the beach side infinity pool, It's tastefully decorated and pristine.

Day 1: We arrived tired from our travels and decided to have food catered in. Home made "Real Deal" Mexican food. Hand made fresh tortillas, guacamole, and freshly caught shrimp that rivaled Lobster! The evening was spent eating great food under the pool side palapa watching the sun set.

Day 2: Up at sunrise to go deep sea fishing with my 12 year old son. Vicente, our Captain, is widely recognized by all the locals as the best fisherman in the area. They're right, within a couple of hours my son (with a little help from me) reeled in a 50 lbs. Mahi Mahi (Dorado)! It's obvious that Vicente knows these waters and has been doing this his entire life. This location offers some of the best fishing in the world! Within hours we were grilling fresh Mahi Mahi filets on the pool side grill and enjoying frosty cocktails and ice cold cervezas. Seriously, It was the best tasting fish I've ever eaten.

Day 3: Up again to watch the sunrise on the water. This time from a kayak headed to a nearby coral reef for snorkeling. In addition to the thousands of tropical fish, we got up close and personal with stingrays, eels, sea turtles, and a lobster! The afternoon was spent poolside at the swim up bar eating fresh ceviche! We took in the sunset, again in the water from almost the same spot we saw it come up that morning, only this time on paddle boards.

Day 4: Had a blast driving the ATV/Razor on the beech exploring the area before a trip to the local tortilla bakery. NOTE: If you have never had an authentic, handmade Mexican tortilla, do yourself a favor. My kids gobbled them up!

Day 5: Up again to watch the sunrise, but this time on horse back! Took my kids horseback riding on the beach. My oldest son's (17) favorite part of the trip.

This was my 2nd visit to Casa Rodriguez and I'd come here again before going anywhere else in Mexico. Get away from it all and experience a real old time Mexican fishing village with 5 star accommodations!

AWESOME!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was an awesome 5 day get away with a fully stocked beautiful house! Waking up every morning to a beautiful clean beach and nice afternoon strolls was truly amazing. I loved to BBQ in the evening and watch the fisherman go by in the boats. We had a treat with the rays in the evening dancing on the ocean. Vincente was also available for any needs and was great taking us out for a quick fishing fish as well. We can't wait to go back and get some more Mexico sun!!
