Great Stay in Alma

  • 5 of 5

House was perfect for 3 couples, 1 toddler, 1 infant, and two dogs. Very comfortable with a nice kitchen and living area. Beautiful views and a great deck. The house is in a community but feels very secluded. Would recommend.

Property was clean, well maintained. Directions to house were helpful and check in/out was very easy.

Perfect spot to get out of the city and enjoy the fall colors. Really close to hiking and fishing.

House is private and has great views from the deck. Property is a great deal with plenty of room for 10 guests.

Definitely would stay at this house again. Maybe for a winter getaway!

Great Home Base for Outdoor Activities!

  • 5 of 5

The house was just what we were looking for - a retreat near hiking and gorgeous mountain views, with a big deck for enjoying the cool mountain air with our dogs. I loved the layout of the house - big open space with a wall of glass windows for the living / dining/ kitchen area, with privacy in the bedrooms upstairs and down. The entry was perfect for hanging a wet raincoat or wiping off a dog's paws. The owner provides so many nice details, from kitchen items to tissue boxes to firewood. The deck was amazing, with a full-size dining room table, grill, sofa, and great views.

The road from the highway to the house is a little bumpy, but that allows you to go slowly and take in the beauty of the area - we saw a mother deer and her two fawns along the way twice. We tended to leave in the morning for hiking/adventuring, and return late afternoon/evening and stay put. The drive into Breckenridge isn't too far - we went twice during our week's stay, but we generally preferred the less crowded areas on 'our' side of Hoosier Pass. We loved being so close to the hiking and walking trails at Hoosier Pass! We also discovered areas around Fairplay and Kenosha Pass that were gorgeous. Not to mention seeing a family of four mountain goats at Blue Lakes dam - right there in the parking area! We watched in awe as they just sauntered up into the rocks when they decided to leave. And we almost became 'regulars' at the Alma Coffee Shop in the yellow house on the main street - nice place to stop.

I would definitely stay in this house again and would recommend it and the area! Missing the cool weather already!

Spacious, Private, beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 stayed here in August 2016 and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The quietness of the location was amazing, and not seeing any neighboring homes was a big plus. Our first morning a deer and fawn were grazing right outside the window. We also loved the deck outside for morning breakfast with the hummingbirds. The owner is super friendly and communicative. We also liked that the home was fully furnished with all the necessiities, and no 'condo-like' feel to it. I only wish we could have stayed longer. The location was perfect for us, being on the other side of Hoosier pass from the busy/touristy area of Breckenredge, yet close enough to go into Breck if you want to. We found there was a LOT for us to do in the mountains on the southern side of the pass with much less crowds. The only downsides we ran into were minor: The city road is very rough, but that is pretty common for the area, and the internet was a little quirky in that only a few devices could be on at a time (but the kids survived still - i mean, did they really need internet in this amazing countryside?). We would love to come back and stay here again if/when we decide to do a colorado vacation again. Thanks Mike for use of your home!

We had an AMAZING time at this beautiful mountain home with a beautiful mountain view. The house is located in a quit area on the mountain side with the beautiful town of Breckenridge only 20 min away. It's very clean and has everything you need to make your stay very comfortable.. There are many hiking opportunities in the area and plenty of great trout fishing within a few minutes of the cabin. Mike was very quick at answering all our questions and made sure we had an wonderful experience... I recommend this home to anyone looking to stay in this beautiful area... We can't wait to come back in the future!!!
