We really enjoyed our stay. A beautiful and quiet area to be in and so close to the nature reserves. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful.

sparsely equipped

  • 3 of 5

Bedrooms very spare. No bedside lights or adequate storage. Little space to put things down in bedrooms or bathroom. Most annoying was lack of hot water especially on last day when 1 shower was our limit with kettle water for washing up. Only 1 key for the security gate meant we could not split up without leaving some unable to get in or out. Parking outside on the road. Another entrance would improve it. Outside seating that was comfortable and improved privacy would help. Improved ventilation would help too. It got hot when locked up as it was a wooden lodge.

Owner's Response: Bedrooms very spare, not sure what more you can get in a twin bedroom, there is a double wardrobe with draws, as you can appreciate there is not a lot of room to put a bedside table with bedside light ! Double bedroom again you know the size of this bedroom & is impossible to put in any wardrobes or a bedside cabinet. All of our guests to date have never had an issue in sharing the wardrobe in twin bedroom. Space in bathroom I will look at putting another unit in there for toilet bags to go on otherwise there is a towel rail for tails & hooks on back of door. Lack of hot water as you can appreciate this is on a timer which is set to come on in the morning & evening which was increased at your request on the first day ! Only 1 key again we were never asked if you could have a 2nd key which of course we do have, I assumed as there were only 3 of you including a child & only 1 vehicle you would all be together during your stay. With regards to parking outside on road, yes you had to park outside the main gates & walk 50 metres to the log cabin but we are in the middle of a nature reserve! It's not as if your parking outside on a busy main road & there are security cameras looking at the front drive ! Improved privacy again not sure how much more private you can get as property is set within our 1 acre grounds & you have your own fenced off garden area, perhaps you would have preferred a 6ft high fence around your log cabin making you feel more private ! Ventilation yes it is a wooden log cabin & in the middle of August when it is hot & you go out all day & don't leave any windows open of course the cabin will be hot when you return, so answer is to open windows to let ventilation in. All guests that have stayed to date have not had a problem, we cater for a lot of long weekend bookings for weddings at local pub

Just what we needed!

  • 5 of 5

The accommodation had everything we required. The owners were friendly and could not have been more helpful. The location is ideal if you like rural life - plenty of animals and birds to be spotted. Lots to do and see in surrounding areas and beaches never far away.

Schönes Häuschen für Naturverbundene

  • 4 of 5
