Guestbook comments from the owner

My wife and I really enjoyed this open studio/style cottage in rural setting with our two children. We were able to relax and recharge after a week visiting the coast and San Francisco. Also, we took advantage of cycling the Chilano Valley Loop which is a perfect morning ride right from the property. Highly recommend!

Even better than expected

  • 5 of 5

When my fiance and I were looking for a place to stay for over a week, we were confident that Heather's cottage would be a good fit. We were looking for a quiet, furnished place with a kitchen, washer/dryer, and internet - basically all the amenities of home, without breaking the bank. Heather's cottage was even better than expected.

Our first thought when we entered the cottage was that it felt a lot bigger than 700 square feet, thanks to the open floor plan and high ceilings. The furnishings were more than adequate, and we found the bed and couch to both be very comfortable. We were also relieved to have a kitchen with all the basic tools so we could cook our own meals. Heather even left some fresh ground coffee, which was a lifesaver that first morning before we had ventured into town.

Our hosts were great as well - very friendly but also very respectful of privacy. Heather even offered us some fresh eggs from her chickens.

Overall we were very happy with all aspects of our stay, and will recommend Heather's cottage to any friends visiting Petaluma in the future!

Sparkling clean, comfortable cottage in beautiful countryside Petaluma

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at the cottage. Heather is a great host and made sure our stay was great. The cottage and bed were comfortable, clean, kitchen well equipped, the space is very good for a couple. She provided us with suggestions for biking as well as to where to eat. The cottage is a comfortable bike ride to town if you don't mind biking with a small shoulder at times. we would definitely stay at the cottage again.

Fabulous cottage with wonderful views

  • 5 of 5

I recently stayed at Heather and Geoff's cottage and had a simply lovely time. The views over the hills were so peaceful - I could feel my city body immediately go 'aaah'. There are sheep and hens, so it really did feel like I was on a farm, although it was very close to Downtown Petaluma. The cottage itself is very charming - I loved the vibe. Heather and Geoff were very wonderful hosts, checking in without being obtrusive. And they were very kind when when my car battery died one morning, and gave me a jump start. I would definitely come back and stay here again.

Thanksgiving weekend away

  • 5 of 5

Sweet property with an amazing view of the country side! Heather and Geoff were very helpful with suggestions on where to go to town and available for questions. They just bought 3 sheep and our kids had a great time discovering the property. The house was super clean and had a great working kitchen with all the tools of the trade. Cozy heater and cozy beds made our stay easy and memorable. Thank you Heather and Geoff for sharing your cottage with our family! We plan on returning very soon!

relaxing and spacious cottage

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Heather, Geoff, Sophie, and Penelope for a 3 day play date. Aside from adorable Sophie, the cottage was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well laid out.

Although it was difficult to get past not having a t.v., we managed and maybe are better off for it. We loved the quite, the roosters in the morning, and the overall country feel.

As a fellow Vacation Rental Owner, I was not aware that coffee, sugar, dish soap, conditioner are not included because I provide these myself. A learning experience, I will know for my next vacation rental.

Overall Heather was so generous and helpful. We would stay here again if we were ever in the area.

Beautiful, quiet cottage in the countryside

  • 5 of 5

We wanted to have a quiet getaway to Sonoma County for some wine tasting and relaxation and are so lucky we found this studio. Heather was very quick to respond and she put out this cute little sign welcoming us. The studio was up a private drive, about 2-3 miles outside downtown Petaluma. It was so quiet and peaceful. The property has lots of trees and you can look out into the hills. The studio was very clean, well taken care of, and more spacious then I expected. The bed was very comfortable and with the windows open, we had a lovely breeze. Heather left us some materials highlighting fun things in the area. We would definitely love to stay there again the next time we're in Sonoma County.

From the studio, it took us about 20 minutes to get into Sonoma, about an hour to drive up to Healdsburg, and about 35-40 minutes to drive out to Bodega Bay. Petaluma has a bunch of fun restaurants, stores, places to walk around, and Lagunitas Brewery has a great beer garden.
