About Kendall and Leina Luelf
My wife Leina and I (Kendall) got married in June of 2009. I previously worked in TN at a nuclear plant that is located about 2 hours from Pigeon Forge. I absolutely loved the area while I worked there and always wanted to go back. We now live in IL and I currently work at a nuclear plant locally, and my wife Leina works for a consulting firm. Last year we visited the area again and decided to look for property while we were there. We purchased our first cabin last year. It is called Closer To Heaven and is located in Wears Valley. We decided to rent it out while we weren't occupying it and quickly found that with my job, last minute vacations are tough to plan and the cabin was usually booked. We looked around for more property so that we could have a couple of choices when we visit and here we are!
Kendall and Leina Luelf purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Kendall and Leina Luelf chose Sevierville
We choose this property for two reason. First, the views. Pictures absolutely do not do them justice and the only description is 'truly stunning'. Second is the location. It is located only 5-10 miles from everything and this is SO convenient when driving mountainous roads. The cabin is very luxurious and well build with solid log construction.

Couldn’t ask for a better view!
The first time up the incline was a little scary, but it was definitely easier the second time around. And that view was so worth the drive. You can’t beat watching the sun go down while in the hot tub either. The cabin was clean and homey. We loved being just far enough away from the busyness of pigeon forge but close enough to get there in a few short minutes. Our favorite place was Friendly Falls. After a long day of adventures, it was nice to just stop in, relax with a beer and listen to the water fall. Best place for gem mining for the little ones too.
The cabin was beautiful and the views were spectacular!!
Such a wonderful cabin. The owners were stupendous! This is a definite must stay for a private getaway!
Beautiful and peaceful
We loved our stay and the breathtaking views! The hot tub and jacuzzi tub were great! The cabin itself was not as clean as we expected - lots of dust on the ceiling fans and in the bathrooms. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
We are thrilled to hear that overall you had a great experience, we are however disappointed the cleaning wasn't to your satisfaction. We and our cleaners try our very best to offer the cleanest cabin possible. We will be sure to bring the dust to our cleaners attention and get it back to a top notch standard. Thanks!
The view is worth the drive!!!!
This cabin was amazing. The views were spectacular. The first time you make the drive up is a little scary, but it is fine after that. The hot tub was so nice and very clean. The cabin had everything you could need and the air hockey table was a lot of fun. My friends and I loved sitting in the dining area and playing cards. It was rainy while we were there but there was still plenty to do. We never even turned the tv on. I highly recommend!
As good as the pictures make it look!
Often when you rent a vacation rental, the photos make it look way better than it really is. This one is just what you imagine when you see the pictures. Yes the road up the hill is a little scary. It is worth it, I promise! The view is phenomenal and completely unobstructed. In the morning you can lay in the bed in the loft and watch the sun come up over the mountains. At night I was mesmerized by the lights of Pigeon Forge in the distance. It was cold when we were there, but I would have spent quite a bit of time in that hammock on the deck if it had been warmer. And the hot tub is in a very private location.
The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare several meals instead of eating out every night. Do bring water up with you on your first trip up the hill. The tap water smells and tastes like it came straight from the hot tub. This is obviously an issue all over, the water aisle at Kroger was wiped out when we went to stock up. The bed was comfortable, great pillows too. I was glad I brought an extra blanket, but there was a small one downstairs on the couch that we could have used.
The location is much more convenient to town than we were expecting. Just a 15 minute drive and you are right in the middle of all the crazy that is Pigeon Forge. We weren't really into much of that, but we did ride the Alpine Coaster one day.
Jump on this one if it's available for your dates, you will be glad you did.
We were there for our 40th Anniversary and we absolutely loved it! Beautiful cabin and Beautiful view there. We Had the best vacation ever. We will be back for sure!!
You can also enjoy zip lines and canopy tours, seasonal hay rides, and various local festivals throughout the year.
