Why Ed Mc Hale chose Montecchio
We fell in love with this property and the surrounding area when we first found it over 10 years ago. It has the charm of a traditional Umbrian farmhouse and the conveniences of a recent build with a spacious open plan that provides sufficient separate areas for people to come together or to disperse in comfort. The locality is steeped in Italian tradition with open air community events, historical buildings and a wonderful selection of local restaurants. Places of interest within daily driving distance includes Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia, Todi, and several towns with sulphur baths. However, a day spent at home enjoying the open air swimming pool, dining al fresco with choice of barbecue and games room will ease you nicely into la dolce vita and ensure that you are refreshed and relaxed when your holiday ends. I expect that you will be pleasantly surprised and feel as warmly about the property and area as we do.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
This private property on 1 hectare of South facing hillside is the perfect location to relax. In the Italian sunshine surrounded by cultural and historical places of interest. The local people are warm and welcoming, as the village is not on the mainstream tourist itinerary. Open air eating from the terrace with a view of the valley to the South and East can be alternated with barbecue meals under the pergola at the poolside with a view of the West end of the valley, the plain below and the sunset.
