My name is Lee Ann Johnson. I've lived here at Beulah Land Farm, just five minutes from Boone for twenty five years. YOU are invited to the mountains where you can experience the peace and rest of my hundred year old farm. Beulah Land is a unique vacation opportunity. Once a working farm, where we raised herbs, edible flowers, animals and boys, now it can be YOUR farm away from home...
I would like for my place to be a refuge from the rigors of your own mountain adventures! This house with its old hardwood floors and high ceilings is the ideal place to come home to after a day of hiking, sightseeing, visiting or skiing!
- Want to come and visit your student at App? -Need a quiet weekend getaway?
-Make it a romantic retreat..
- or a girls weekend- come on up and cook your meals together, stay up late, giggle and laugh as you reconnect without distractions!
-We are fifteen to thirty minutes from skiing
-ask about the possibility of coming home to a hot country meal at the end of the day for a very reasonable price!
My guests are welcome to use the kitchen for cooking meals. You have a small refrigerator in your room to keep your own things in. Of course, I expect everyone to clean up after themselves, leaving the kitchen in the same shape they found it. I put all the dishes away every morning. All kitchen appliances are there for your use.
The bathroom is a shared bathroom, with a four foot shower as well as a washer and dryer for your use.
Guests are also welcome to make use of the big living and dining room as well as the covered front porch which is tastefully furnished for dining with large rattan and glass table, a seating area with comfortable rockers and of course the porch swing.
There are a number of places to sit and just enjoy the farm around the yard and gardens. There is also a classic old tree swing hung from the maple tree as well as a climbing rope for kids of all ages.
There is also a swing set and horse shoe pits on the north end of the property. And a Bonfire Ring, Gas Grill and a mini above ground contained fire pit.
You are also welcome to take a Creek Walk up Brushy Fork Creek which runs by the house just thirty feet from the front door! Fishermen will be happy to learn there are trout in my creek and we are a hop, skip and a jump from the Watauga River!
You are my guest! If I am here, I try to make myself available whenever I am needed but am sensitive for your need for privacy at the same time. I love people and enjoy interacting with others. While I am home MOST of the year, when I am traveling I will be available by phone at all times.
We are five minutes from Boone- right on the banks of bold and gurgling Brushy Fork Creek. Our fortunate location has all the advantages of rural life away from the hustle and bustle of our fair college town, but with instant access to all the high country has to offer:
*Endless shopping opportunities in Boone, Blowing Rock, Valle Crucis
*The Blue Ridge Parkway
*Valle Crucis Park
* Mast General Store
*Horne in the West
*Daniel Boone Park
*one hour from the Virginia Creeper Trail in Damascus, Virginia
* and dozens of accompanying annual
festivals that are held in the surrounding area!
There is a road behind us that you can walk up into the hills if you like to hike- From the top there are breathtaking views of Grandfather Mountain.
If you can't do hills, we are minutes from several lovely little walking tracks that are perfectly level. And of course we are less than thirty minutes from practically anywhere in the high country!
There is a shuttle that comes out this way during the week- once in the morning and returns in the late afternoon. When I am home, I am always willing to help with rides- we are three miles from the first Applecart stop which will carry you just about anyplace in Boone you'd like to go for free.

Right at home!
My friend and I stayed here for night and we were very happy we did. We felt extremely welcomed in her home. She was so attentive with us and even recommended a DELICIOUS spot to eat for dinner. We felt right at home. We would love to stop by again someday!
Charming and welcoming.
Thank you for a great stay at Beulah Land Farm. The house is a charming old farm house and the owner is a welcoming and gracious host. I wanted to get away from the daily grind and the surroundings provided just that. I especially liked that the owner, Lee Ann, loves pets and made my dog as comfortable as she made me! The atmosphere is very casual and relaxed and the front porch will remind you of your grandma's if grandma was lucky enough to have a shady wisteria forest. It provided great shade and a cool spot to read amid the summer heat. Thanks for sharing your home, Lee Ann!
Thanks Cindy! You are a favorite and I can't say that Ollie doesn't factor into that assessment!! Cant wait for the two of you to come back!!
Felt Like Home!
I stayed in Grandma's Room as a "home base" as I visited the Boone/Blowing Rock area as part of long-term retirement planning over a long weekend. Lee Ann and her family made me feel at home the very night I arrived, even inviting me to have dinner with them. What a treat! The house, an older country home, was decorated beautifully, and also specially for the holidays at that time. The room itself was tastefully and brightly decorated, and I was greeted with a chocolate on the pillow and a bottle of wine upon my arrival. The room also had cable TV, and the bed was very comfortable. Lee Ann was also very helpful in providing information about the area, and a great host for the weekend all the way around. What a perfect home, and room, to return to each night after my meetings and other agenda items each day. I look forward to staying at Beulah Land Farm again!
Just like home
From the second we arrived at the kitchen door, it was warm and welcoming and we felt right at home. Everyone was so nice and made our stay super! We loved LeeAnn and our roommate Spanky :). Will definitely be back while visiting Boone :)
Comfortable room in welcoming home
LeeAnn and her family were quite nice as were the other folks that live here. Everyone was helpful and made good recommendations for restaurants and hikes. The house is just a couple minutes outside Boone. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The place would be great if you are traveling and want to meet people. I wouldn't recommend Grammy's room for a romantic getaway, however, as there isn't much privacy. The room is right off the living room, and you have to go through the dining room to get to the bathroom. Also, there are pets (dogs and a cat). They are friendly, but I don't recommend staying here if you have pet allergies.
It was so relaxing to fall into the comfort of Grandma's room after a long day of taking in the local mountain attractions. There was wine and chocolate waiting in our room. This property is full of history, flowers, and friendly attention. The bed in our room was very comfortable, and there are other rooms available if you are traveling with several people. The owner loves animals, kids, teenagers, and people in general. We were close to Boone, Banner Elk, the Parkway... We ate supper at the Banner Elk Cafe, which is oddly two restaurants joined together by a patio, upscale American and Italian. The food was great as was the band--West Wind. Hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we did.
