About Elizabeth E Labrecque
We are a retired couple. We purchased the K1 cabin completely renovating it while retaining the original flavor. We purchased our own cabin nearby in 1983 having fallen in love with the area, it's beauty and peacefulness.
Elizabeth E Labrecque purchased this Cabin in 2005
Why Elizabeth E Labrecque chose Northwest Piscataquis
The spectacular waterfront beauty for this property, convenience to town, quiet and peacefulness all sold us on the location. The size of Moosehead lake, 40 miles long, 13 miles wide make for a wilderness experience not unlike Alaska. There are so few boats, the only sound is the distant train from Canada across the lake and occasional float plane taking off. The easy commute, 4 hours from our second home in Newburyport MA an added bonus.
What makes this Cabin unique
There is a perfect blend of activity and relaxation in this gateway to the Northwoods. Viewing wildlife at every turn, picking blueberries and raspberries growing in the wild, swimming in the refreshing lake only scratch the surface of this paradise.

Nice summer get away
Beautiful spot, GREAT owners for sure. The only draw back that I had are they only have bunk beds in the bedroom and loft so hubby and I slept separately and only 1 frying pan, but a nice gas grill outside with the picnic table, other wise a really nice quaint cabin, very quiet, BEAUTIFUL beach, a nice fire pit with wood provided. Did I mention the most awesome owners.
We so appreciate guests taking the time to write a review. We listen to all comments and address any issues, making improvements as allowed. Added another fry pan but unfortunately unable to change the sleeping arrangements due to cabin configuration. The double futon in living room and single beds our only option . We keep our rate low as a result. Thank you so much to our guests for the kind words and positive comments.
An old-fashioned 4th
My family of four spent 3 nights at this cabin over the 4th of July weekend. I booked the cabin weeks in advance using this VRBO site. Upon arrival at the cabin I found everything to be true as described in the write-up and pictures, only better. Yes, there really are pretty flowers and the lake views are beautiful. The cabin was clean and tastefully decorated. There were plenty of lights and electrical outlets, and the kitchen had all the basic things you would need. Everyone in my family wanted the Bear Loft bed, you do have to be able to climb a ladder, but it's worth it. The owners greeted us, welcomed us, and provided a very good orientation to the cabin and the local area. Favorite stores were the Indian Hill Market which has all the necessities, and the Kamp Kamp Indian Store which is just fun.
During our stay we went out in the car looking for moose on two nights and saw one each night. We went at dusk (just before and after sundown), but later learned that you might need to stay out later (10pm) to see more moose. We also went out in a canoe on the lake. We were there for the 4th of July parade in Greenville and watched the fireworks from the lakeshore by the cabin (and jumped in the canoe and paddled out for the grand finale). We made a fire in the firepit out under the stars and made S'mores--really appreciated that the owners provided the firewood, a very nice touch. I enjoyed having my two teenagers experience an old-fashioned 4th of July celebration in a small town wilderness place.
I definitely would go back to this property or the other cabin offered by these owners and highly recommend them.
