About Anita Hansen

My family were farmers in Iowa; my husbands family are farmers in New York. We met working for the Forest Service in Montana exploring different career options. We later married and had 3 children whom are now adults. My career path took me into Nursing and my husband is a Fisheries Biologist.

Anita Hansen purchased this farmhouse in 2008

Why Anita Hansen chose Flathead Lake

We moved to the Flathead in 1990, purchasing our current home at that time. We lived next door to the farm with its beautiful open fields, views of the East Bay and the Mission Mountains for close to 20 years. Nothing obstructs our views. The farm went up for sale, and concern that the property would be subdivided, we purchased the 22 acres adjoining our property in 2008.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Migratory birds in the spring and fall can be viewed from the house. Other wildlife such as wild turkeys, deer and bears all live on Finely Point. It is tranquil, private and relaxing. There are good roads for biking, as there is minimal traffic. We are less than 2 hours from West Glacier. Use the Farmhouse as home base to travel and site see.

Pretty little slice of heaven!

Our family of four LOVED our stay at the little red farmhouse on the hill. We enjoyed peace, quiet, beautiful views and quick access to relatives on North Finley Point. Anita is the nicest host ever, and her decorating taste is farmhouse-flawless! Highly recommended.

Fabulous house, unparalleled vistas, delightful animals, and best owners on the planet! :-)

  • 5 of 5

Can I give a 10 star rating?!?! I searched high and low for the perfect four month rental house in the Polson area. Finley Point Farmhouse exceeded my highest hopes and expectations! From my first phone call with Anita, I knew it would be perfect. Anita and Barry (owners) are so warm, generous, helpful and FUN! It's hard to peg what is the best aspect of this house , , , wild turkeys courting . . . sheep running, nursing and "talking". . . deer grazing . . . stunning vistas that inspire . . . daytime visits from Simon and Mia (cats) . . . rainbows and brilliants sunset clouds . . . light streaming through the picture windows . . . hummingbirds buzzing the feeder . . .yummy beans, beets, kale, cabbage, carrots and corn from the garden . . . gobbling the sweetest cherries imaginable . . . outdoor dinners . . . and on and on. I will miss this Montana home so much. Thank you, Finley Point Farmhouse and Anita and Barry for this beautiful place to heal my heart and inspire me!

Owner's Response: I can't say enough how much we enjoyed Sally. She was delightful, fun, energetic and positive. She was the model guest. I would stop by to see if Sally needed anything, and an hour later we would still be talking over a cup of coffee. Sally had many guests of her own who came to visit her and our wonderful part of the country. She was their tour guide showing off our home and the surrounding area. Sally would have us over to meet friends and family, and we would have her over to enjoy the deck and the sunset. When it came time for Sally to pack up and head for home, she said she wanted to leave the farm house just like she found it, and she did. Honestly, I have enjoyed all my guests, but I really do miss Sally. I hope she will be able to return one day and spend time with us again on our little farm, with the view of the mountains and water and sheep and cherries.

3 days in mid vacation for the family with kids 9 & 11. Nice time to wind down, enjoy the lake view, pick cherries and feed the farm animals.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review. We really did enjoy you and your family. Cherries this season were earlier due to the long hot days and no rain. I hope your are doing well and perhaps one day you will get this way again and stay with us. Take care, Anita and Barry.

Flathead vacation-VROB first timer

  • 5 of 5

This was the first time we used VROB. We are very pleased with the process. The farmhouse has amazing views of Flathead lake. It's a very comfortable, quiet place to stay. My husband and I both grew up in the country, but live in town now. We had forgotten what true peace and quiet is like. The location is easy to get to and Finley point boat launch is just down the road. Barry was very helpful, greeting us upon arrival and providing recommendation of where to park the boat so it wouldn't be in the way. We're animal lovers so we enjoyed playing with Mia the cat-very sweet kitty.

We loved it!

What a great place to stay in Montana. From a view from your bedroom to the cherries on your table , this house and the owners are awesome. You will find anything you need and want on your vacation. Anita and Barry are the most warmest and generous people.

So far from NJ , we felt so much at home at Finley farmhouse.

Thank you so much!!!

We will be back.
