Beautiful oceanfront property with private heated pool

Bedrooms 5

Space 2,300 sq. ft.
Property type house

About the property

Can't beat the locatation or the layout of this house for a family vacation.

This spacious oceanfront home is located on lovely and unspoiled Holden Beach in southern North Carolina. New for the 2017 rental season is a private heated 12 ftX25ft pool on the ocean side of the property.

The house has been recently updated with new paint and decorations in every room that are designed to complement the restful and carefree nature of a vacation at Holden Beach.

Loggerhead Landing is 5 bedroom, 4.5 bath beachfront house with a roomy, fully equipped kitchen/dining area for family meals and large groups. There is a spectacular newly updated living area adjacent to the kitchen-with both the kitchen and the living room featuring panoramic ocean views. The three upstairs bedrooms enjoy the same ocean vista and each opens out onto the upper covered porch. The upstairs bedrooms include a large master bedroom with a king bed and an adjoining bathroom, and two other bedrooms with queen beds one of which has an adjoining bathroom. In addition to the 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the second floor, there is also a large upstairs living area with a TV and a table for playing cards or doing puzzles. Both large downstairs bedrooms have adjoining full baths. One of the bedrooms has a queen bed, the other twins. They are both sizable and airy and have a view of the salt marsh across the road.

The house has two large covered porches on the ocean side. The porches are sprinkled with colorful comfortable rocking chairs to relax in. The pictures show the wide angle view of the beach and oceanscape from the porches. The house faces due south so that the porches provide shade during the heat of the day. There is a large sun exposed porch on the ocean side of the house that is perfect for sunbathing while basking in the sea breeze with a unobstructed ocean view.

The beach is steps from the house so there is no tiring walk for young children before they get to enjoy the fine sand and the ocean waves. The beach itself is typically very uncrowded as the home is located on a narrow section of the island, and there is only one house behind it on the second row. The beach itself is wide, with plenty of room even at high tide.

The new in 2017 pool is situated on the ocean side of the house. The pool itself is large, with an expansive deck that offers shade and sun. The pool will be a hit with the children during the day, and with the adults as the sun goes down.

For 2018 reservations made after 7/4/17 there is a $300 per week for heating the pool, if desired, in the spring and fall.

This house was previously rented through VRBO as Parrothead Palace. It was also known as Island Paradise in the past. We have named it Loggerhead Landing in honor of one of the types of sea turtles that nest every year on Holden Beach. Perhaps you will see a nest with freshly laid eggs one morning when you are walking along the miles long strand at Holden Beach. The pier is about one and a half miles east of the house.

The house has plenty of electronics with a flat screen TV in each bedroom as well two others in the upstairs and downstairs living areas. There are two DVDs, cable TV, and WiFi.

Cleaning and pool heating in season is included in the rental price. Sheets and towels are not included, though they are available for rental through Beach Fun Rental who will deliver them to the house. The house is on pilings and is not wheelchair accessible. Although the house is listed as pet free, our family trains service dogs and the house may have dog dander. It would not be appropriate for families that have a member with dog sensitivity. The house rents Saturday-Saturday with check in time 4 PM and check out time of 10 AM.

Why David Kosten chose Holden Beach

We bought this house looking for a family gathering spot for our far flung children. Since we live in Indiana we knew that we would only be able to get away to enjoy the house a few weeks a year.

Our family hates the idea of a beach house sitting unused during prime weeks of the vacation season-so we are continuing to list the home on VRBO. It was previously know as Parrothead Palace and Island Paradise.

What makes this house unique

Once my wife and I had decided that Holden Beach was the ideal beach, we shopped extensively for the ideal home.

We fell in love with this house because it was perfeclty situated with a panoramic ocean view from both the house and the porch. The site also let us install a large pool on the ocean side of the house. The porch is the most important part of any beach house in our opinion and this house has two stories of wide covered porches as well as a large open porches overlooking the ocean and the pool.

The house itself has a layout the takes advantage of the natural beauty of it's location. There is a large kitchen and living area on the lower level that have a panoramic view of the ocean through immense picture windows. Upstairs, the master and two other bedrooms are ocean front and have their separate entrances to the porch. Four of the five bedrooms have an en suite bathroom.

Holden Beach

  • 5 of 5

My family and I stayed at this beach house September 16,-23, 2017. The house was everything we hoped for in a beach home. Ocean front, and very close to a beautiful ,quite beach, a heated pool, with lots of pool toys. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need for cooking. The decks facing the ocean were a very nice place for all of us to sit in the evenings . Lots of chairs, but could use a few little stands outside. All in all, we LOVED this house! And would like to return in a few years! Thanks for letting us stay at your home!

Amazing family vacation - we loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This is our second time to Holden Beach as a family and we love it there!

Loggerhead Landing was a great house. It is 3 miles north of the bridge, which results in the beach being a little less crowded. The house has plenty of space for a large family (we had 4 adults and 6 children). The kitchen and the eating area are perfect, with great amenities; the kitchen is very well stocked. I think every room had a t.v. although we didn’t use them (we were too busy on the beach and in the pool).

Proximity to the beach is ideal – making it very easy to run between the pool and the beach as well as to watch all activity on the beach from the deck. The deck (on both floors) has plenty of chairs and is quite spacious. All bedrooms on the 2nd floor (3 bedrooms) open up to the patio with ocean view. There is also a “sitting area” on the 2nd floor in which to read and play cards.

Best of all was the pool. I think our family spent more time in the pool than even in the ocean. And there is plenty of patio space and chairs around the pool for adults to visit and read while the kids are swimming.

The owner was absolutely superb to work with. He is very communicative and helpful. It was very important to him that we had a positive experience.

This is where we will stay when we return in the future. We highly recommend it.

Heaven at Holden

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful time we had at Holden Beach in this beautiful house. The house is only a few yards from the beach which was great. The pool and area were awesome, nice and large. Great for large families. The rooms were great as well as decorated nicely. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this family neighborhood.

Has it all!

  • 5 of 5

Our group has been going to the beach together for years, starting when the kids were toddlers. We're now empty-nesters and still going - and Loggerhead Landing was one of our best houses yet! The view from the large deck (the picture doesn't show the new deck) is unbeatable. No rail at eye level to block your view! And three bedrooms upstairs with the ocean view!

The big bonus was the pool! We had one grandchild with us and she spent the majority of her days right where we could see her! And half of it is in the shade for a good part of the day. No sunburn from all those hours in the water. Just wrinkled fingers!

The kitchen is a good size for working and mingling, as well as being well equipped. It has a nice long dining table that fits a big group. The house is tastefully furnished and very comfortable.

There are boogie boards and beach chairs downstairs, so don't feel the need to pack a lot of that stuff. There are also bike rental places that deliver and we took advantage of that, as well.

The owner is extremely easy to work with and easy to contact.

We had a great week and plan on going back to Loggerhead Landing next year!!

We had such a great time staying at Holden Beach. My kids had so much fun playing in the pool and beach. We would love to stay at this house again. Best part----opening the bedroom windows and hearing the ocean.

wish we were there

  • 5 of 5

had to cancel our plans to stay at Loggerhead Landing in Sept. Owner was so very understanding and offered to hold our fee till we were able to make the trip. As it happened, we found we would have to delay more than a reasonable time, so he offered to refund our $$$. We will definitely try to rebook at a later date! So nice to work with someone who understands that sometimes life gets in the way of our best laid plans! This owner is worth the wait! Wish all our VRBO experiences had been this wonderful.
