About Jannelle and Andrew Bailey

We have been operating as a self catered B&B for 8 years. We have lived on the Island for many years and raised our family of three boys here.

Why Jannelle and Andrew Bailey chose Vancouver Island

This is a desirable location that is a great home base for island exploration. It is a hub to many modes of transportation, land and sea. Popular with hikers, cyclists, Eco-tourists. We love the natural beauty.

What makes this apartment unique

Our home is tucked into the trees. Rural but conveniently close to all the amenities of town. Wake up to the birds in the morning and go to sleep with the owls at night. The ocean is a short walk across the road where visitors can see a multitude of birds, otters and sometimes orca whales.

Comfortable place to stay

  • 4 of 5

I stayed here to get in a bit of road riding. This area is great for cycling. The place was good, clean and comfortable. It served me quite well. The unit contains everything you need to prepare your meals. The bed was comfortable and the area was quite quiet at night and I slept well.

Beautiful restful spot

  • 4 of 5

Janelle and Andrew were most hospitable by ensuring there was access to the suite, a welcome sign and all the supplies for the next morning. We spent three nights and the beds were comfy with room for the five of us. Kids really enjoyed the ocean beach for discovering new strange creatures, but would not be good for the very young. Wish we would have done our homework and had more time to find out what else was around. Super close to Sidney and Schwartz Bay Ferry. Really enjoyed it.

Perfect!!

  • 5 of 5

The location was perfect. Near both ports, wooded, loads of wildlife, scenic country-setting. We preferred this area to Victoria. We watched sea lions at sunset nearby. The space is wonderful, and they really think of everything and try so hard to make guests feel welcome. It felt like home immediately. The breakfast was fantastic. We'd definitely stay here again & again!

Quiet roomy easy access close to town

  • 5 of 5

Everything you want plus.Second home for all. The apartment is clean and complete with everything you need to feel at home. The owner Jannelle and Andrew have made this place well coming and provided us with all the infos you need to appreciate your stay. If you like scones I will tell you a secret. Jannelle makes the best I ever tasted. She also makes the tastiest jam you will enjoy on your toasts. It is long way for me to go back but I know where to stay the next time I visit Victoria. Thanks again for everything.

very pleasant, cozy, with wonderful host, nice little kitchen

  • 5 of 5

Kept in touch with Janelle, so she knew we were arriving late +30' extra delay = 11PM, if I recall. Easy 10-15' drive from the Victoria ( Sidney ) airport, off Lands End. Woodsy area, very quiet, trivial road noise.

Janelle was kind enough to greet us nonetheless and orient us, incl to nicely stocked frig, and tips for sightseeing in the area. She also advised Thrifty Grocery had tickets 30% off for ferry to Mill Bay, which worked perfectly. The actual ferry experience was a bit if a disaster, that was not her fault, rather a product of BC Ferries logistics. Delightful small patio, very quiet location overlooking lovely garden. Very comfy bed in both bedrooms. Minute but functional shower, no complaints. Would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Serene

  • 5 of 5

Janelle was great, the property was calm, quiet and beautiful, the beach was a tiny walk away that led through the forest and opened into an amazing little bay... we really enjoyed ourselves. We loved the Butterfly farm nearby and the Museum in Victoria was outstanding!

Address: 952 Woodcreek Place, North Saanich, BC V8L 5K4 Canada.

Woodcreek is found at the tip of the Saanich Peninsula on beautiful Vancouver Island. This is a great starting point for exploring all the peninsula has to offer. Beach combing and trails for hiking are within walking distance or a short drive away. It is just a 10 minute drive to Sidney by the Sea, 30 minutes to Victoria, BC's provincial capital, and 15 minutes to world famous Butchart Gardens.

Like the outdoors? Charter a sailboat to explore the coast or hire a fishing guide if you want to try halibut and salmon fishing. There are air tours from the airport. Or enjoy the ocean on a whale watching tour. This area offers excellent cold water scuba diving. In the summer you can pack a picnic and take the passenger ferry from the Sidney Government Wharf to Sidney Spit Marine Park. It’s great fun for the kids.

From here you can access the BC Gulf Islands, the US San Juan Islands and US Olympic Peninsula in the Strait of Juan de Fuca by air or ferry. From Victoria there is daily ferry service to Port Angeles Washington and foot passenger ferry service to Seattle.
