About Jannelle and Andrew Bailey

We have been operating as a self catered B&B for 8 years. We have lived on the Island for many years and raised our family of three boys here.

Jannelle and Andrew Bailey purchased this apartment in 2014

Why Jannelle and Andrew Bailey chose Vancouver Island

This is a desirable location that is a great home base for island exploration. It is a hub to many modes of transportation, land and sea. Popular with hikers, cyclists, Eco-tourists. We love the natural beauty.

What makes this apartment unique

Our home is tucked into the trees. Rural but conveniently close to all the amenities of town. Wake up to the birds in the morning and go to sleep with the owls at night. The ocean is a short walk across the road where visitors can see a multitude of birds, otters and sometimes orca whales.

Quaint, homey, clean

We loved staying at this home. It was the perfect location on the island, just minutes from the ferry. They were very welcoming and friendly, the home was spotless, we were provided with amazing breakfast foods, and it was a great place to call home for a couple days. Just a couple minutes walk to the ocean with a great view, and the kids loved exploring the beach there. Overall a fantastic stay.

Comfortable , quiet and private.

  • 5 of 5

We were very comfortable in our stay at Janelle and Andrew's place. Janelle is a conscioutious, considerate, warm and personable hostess. The above garage apartment was clean and tastefully decorated. It was furnished with items you would need to make a meal. We were warmly greeted by Andrew and Janelle upon our arrival. The fridge was stocked with foods for breakfast. Janelle brought us homemade muffins one day. They are the kind of people that make good neighbors. They live in the house on the property, but it was still very private and quiet. We had planned on doing some painting of the area, but there were so many sights to see that we didn't get to it. Victoria is close by, we went to the Royal Museum, the Bug Museum, Butterfly Museum, Bateman Art Gallery, and Butchart Gardens, and Miniature Museum. We did other things too, in the week there. So many more things to do that we ran out of time for. I would recommend family and friends to this property and area. The last night, Janelle presented us with a plate of hot from the oven scones for our ferry ride! All in all a pleasant experience for myself, daughter, and 6 year old grandson.

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Woodcreek B&B early in July and it was great! I would highly recommend this wonderful B&B !! We had fresh baked goodies waiting for us when we arrived and blueberry scones the next morning. The fridge was stocked with bacon, eggs...yogurt milk and juice. Woodcreek is settled amongst large pine trees and very quiet. It's very private with a large deck and comfy beds. Loved it! Janelle and Andrew were perfect hosts, very helpful...especially when our elderly mother forgot a personal item and they arranged to have it mailed to us in Alberta. We will definitely be back!

This is located in a beautiful, sunny area and I would stay here again!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the WoodCreek B & B for the month of April 2016. It is located in a beautiful forested area near the Ferry Port. It is close to the Airport and Sidney as well, about 10 minutes away. The “Park and Ride” terminal is just south of Sidney and you can get an all day pass for $5.00 making it convenient to get to Victoria, the University, Butchart Gardens or with a transfer, just about anywhere you want to go.

The room was comfortable and spacious with a basic kitchen with just about everything but a stove. There is a hotplate that I used to cook scrambled eggs. The Wi-Fi signal is strong and there is a large TV provided. The only minor negative is that I wish the shower were larger, but I'm tall. The shower is adequate and there is plenty of hot water. The property was clean and well maintained.

Our hosts, Andrew and Janelle are very considerate and accommodating. They even provided some homemade jam that was delicious.

Secluded, relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed at this lovely B and B to be close to the Swartz Bay ferry from Vancouver. Our son and daughter in law joined us for the weekend. We are from Calgary. Janelle left us wonderful food to make our own breakfast at the time it suited us. She even baked muffins for 3 of us and bought me a gluten free muffin. So kind of her! You are close enough to Victoria to drive in to the city or go for supper as we did.

Great hosts, accommodation and location!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodcreek B&B. Janelle and Andrew were wonderful hosts, responding promptly to emails and texts. Janelle even picked me up at the ferry, drove me to the airport and waited while I picked up my rental car so I could follow her to the B&B!

The accommodations are exactly as shown in the photos. The deck is quite large (we didn't get to enjoy it because of the rain), the beds were very comfortable, there are lots of extra linens if you need them, and the kitchen was very well stocked with dinner wear, pots and pans, appliances and food staples (coffee, teas, salt, pepper, etc.). The breakfast supplies were also great - fresh fruit and bread, bacon, eggs, yogurt, butter, home made jam, milk and juice.

The property was very clean and well maintained. The only downside was the slow Internet service for my friend's phone, although it worked much better on my computer.

The location was great for the activities we had planned in and around Sidney - it's a 10 minute drive to Sidney, the airport, and Swartz Bay ferry terminal.

I would highly recommend Woodcreek B&B to all - thanks for a great stay!

Address: 952 Woodcreek Place, North Saanich, BC V8L 5K4 Canada.

Woodcreek is found at the tip of the Saanich Peninsula on beautiful Vancouver Island. This is a great starting point for exploring all the peninsula has to offer. Beach combing and trails for hiking are within walking distance or a short drive away. It is just a 10 minute drive to Sidney by the Sea, 30 minutes to Victoria, BC's provincial capital, and 15 minutes to world famous Butchart Gardens.

Like the outdoors? Charter a sailboat to explore the coast or hire a fishing guide if you want to try halibut and salmon fishing. There are air tours from the airport. Or enjoy the ocean on a whale watching tour. This area offers excellent cold water scuba diving. In the summer you can pack a picnic and take the passenger ferry from the Sidney Government Wharf to Sidney Spit Marine Park. It’s great fun for the kids.

From here you can access the BC Gulf Islands, the US San Juan Islands and US Olympic Peninsula in the Strait of Juan de Fuca by air or ferry. From Victoria there is daily ferry service to Port Angeles Washington and foot passenger ferry service to Seattle.
