The Taylor/Fortes owners are an extended family originally from Boulder, Colorado (grandparents, parents and children), all currently located in Longmont, Colorado.
Cynthia Fortes / Suzanne Taylor purchased this condo in 2006
Cynthia learned to ski at the Winter Park/Mary Jane Ski Area in 1976 and it has remained one of her favorite places for skiing and running. Her husband, Milo, learned to snowboard here after moving from California, and her children have been involved in the Competition Center programs, and Junior Ski Patrol during the winter for many years. Bob and Suzanne are now retired, and enjoy the summers golfing and fishing in the Fraser Valley. We decided to purchase this condo together many years ago for personal use, due to the beautiful and convenient location, and would love to share our mountain 'home' with you. ** Owner is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Colorado.
This property has an unbelievable private deck with views of the mountains and the sound of rushing water from the stream running just outside. This quiet, peaceful setting, along with the large windows and natural light in the condo, sold us on the purchase. The convenient shuttle stop across the street, and community hot tubs, are a great bonus!
The condo is one of the best furnished we've stayed in - very comfortable. I love the rocking chairs - and the swinging chair!
If you are looking for a place around Fraser this is it!!!
The owner was fantastic to deal with from the start, along with great communication anytime needed. Her response time was immediate any time we contacted her. The unit is fantastic with extra bonuses that were not expected nor found in most rental properties. Our families stay here was fantastic. Next time we plan a trip to Colorado I hope this property is available for rent. This property was a great value considering what you get versus cost to rent.
Very clean, cozy, and comfortable place to stay. We had a great time and would certainly look to stay again next year.
First, let me tell you about the pros of this place. The unit is very well managed by the owners, no complaints there. The location is nice because you don't have to drive up the mountain in fraser to get to your place like most of the condos in town, this one is right off the highway. It is very easy to park your car. The unit is a first floor, which is nice for ski gear and stuff. The kitchen counter top is granite, and most of the cabinets/back splash have been replaced. However, the remodel stopped there. The flooring has to be at least 10-15 years old, the doors, trim, fireplace are all original from the 80's-90's. So its partially remodeled.
The biggest negative of this place is the sleeping arrangement. The master bed is comfortable, but if you need a dark, quiet place to sleep you will not be happy. There is a bright security light right outside the bedrooms that can't be turned off, and the blinds do not block out all the light. For me, it was a little maddening. There is little to no sound proof from the unit above. For the most part, the people above respected the quiet hours, but you can definitely hear them use the restroom in the middle of the night. Until 10:30pm, they sang and play loud karoke. The tv is basic cable, sorry no HD television, just SD. I didn't even know standard definition still existed. I don't watch tv when I'm in fraser, I'm usually out skiing, biking...but for some this might be an issue. The hot tub room is below average, again 80s'90s. When I went to use the hot tub after a long day of skiing, there was a group of people in there mostly intoxicated. They were all in one hot tub drinking with beer cans everywhere. They threw a partially empty beer can into the adjacent hot tub which caused the hot tub to foam. Very disgusting, just keep in mind its not a private hot tub facility. So in short, poor sleeping arrangement, and i'm not sure what your experience will be with other people there. I have stayed at multiple vrbo rentals in fraser. The price of this one might be a little high for what you get, but its not bad.
My family and I stayed at this Fraser condo during our weekend trip to winter park/ Fraser. Cynthia was very nice letting us check in early on our first day. The condo was very clean and stocked with everything you need for cooking. It saved us a lot of money not eating out. My boys and I enjoyed soaking in the hot tub after a long day of snowboarding. The sauna was great to relax in.There was a shuttle that picked up right across the street to take you to winter park ski resort, which was very convenient. My only complaint was it was very easy to hear the upstairs people. The first night the upstairs people partied until 1am And woke up at 5:30am which resulted in a tired family the next day. When I contacted Cynthia to let her know she immediately contacted the tenants above to ask them not to be so loud. Quiet hours at the twin rivers are 10pm-8am. I think if Cynthia adds some sort of white noise in her condo it would help drown out the upstairs noise. I would definitely recommend this property and we will come back and stay!
This is a great place to stay. Close to the mountain (5-10 mins), Close to shopping and groceries in both Fraser and Winter Park. I'd say the best part of the stay was the responsiveness and friendliness from the owners.
I would definitely stay here again.
Our adventure to Fraser/Winter Park for the 4th of July weekend was great! From playing Yahtzee on the sunny patio, the Independence 5 mile Run, the High Country Rodeo and watching the fireworks, this condo was perfect. Very clean, nicely decorated, plenty of space for the 3 of us. Thank you for making this an easy getaway for us!
