Long Lake is a small lake (59 acres) located in Sugar Camp Wisconsin (Just a few miles south of Eagle River). The lake has no 'public' access, therefore it does not have heavy fishing pressure or boat traffic like most other lakes. The lake is abundant with walleyes, panfish, perch, northern pike, and muskie. This lake is large enough to allow motor boat traffic and is also ideal for kayakers and other recreation. The shoreline is a sandy bottom, with some reeds and weeds. If you are in need of a fishing boat, or other items, contact us and we will try to accommodate requests (some may be at an additional cost).
***Two Kayaks are now provided at no additional cost***
*This Lake has NO Boat Landing*
***Some types of pets may be available with pre-approval - There is a $50 per pet fee (for your entire stay, not per night)***
Next door to family cottage
Despite some questionable weather we had a fantastic stay. My two year old son and I enjoyed fishing off the dock, and we did.....for hours. My fiance is 7 months pregnant and she wanted to go somewhere quiet and do nothing. This is the perfect place. All of the furniture is comfortable and she took advantage by reading some books. We came fully prepared for this trip but the only thing we really needed was food. The cabin has every utensil and amenity you have at home. We will definitely be returning in the future.
We had an fantastic getaway it's beautiful outside! We used the canoes a lot!!! (Love those)Cabin does need to be taken care of better. We were alittle disappointed about it being drity when we got there it needs some deep cleaning before people come. Overall experience was great!
Mike and I enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was the perfect answer for a much needed vacation. Having spent many summers in the Eagle River area when living in Wisconsin, it was great to be back and enjoy it once again. If we decide to come back to Wisconsin in the future, we would definitely consider this cottage once again. It's assets: private, large, calm and quiet lake, good for swimming, close enough to town for essentials. Liability: the lakefront has a lot of growth near the shore making it somewhat funky to enter from the shore. Suggestion: a ladder attached to the dock for easy enter/easy out.
The pictures don't for his place justice! The cabin was wonderful and the owners were even better. We stayed for over a week and enjoyed every minute. Thank you for giving out over active family a week retreat full of wonderful memories! We hope to come back next year.
4 of us came up and stayed for 3 nights at Brett's cabin and had a wonderful time. It is very peaceful, with great views of the lake as well as the use of kayaks and a row boat. It was very clean and well maintained. Would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful northern Wisconsin getaway for a very reasonable rate!!
First of all, the water pressure was not corrected, (same problem as reported by other users). Water was highly mineralized, probably from a sand point and it did smell, but used it only for showers. Women with long hair might have problems rinsing their hair, (we just took longer showers).
When we first arrived we noticed that a glass had lip smears on it......not good. From there we only used the dishes that we washed due to other dishes that were found dirty. Found that the carpet(s) were not vacuumed and was dusty which caused noticeable sneezing.
I did tow my 16 ft. boat 180 miles (one way) only to find out that there isn't any boat launch to use on the lake. Only a small rowboat to use. When I asked Brett if there were any other boat launches to use, he said "no, this is a private lake and nothing to accommodate people that bring there own boat". I'm 66 years old and my wife and I are NOT going to row around a lake to fish and there was nothing mentioned about this in their cabin rental to clarify this. I will address this issue in future cabin rentals.
To their credit, Brett did offer the use of his dads pontoon boat, free of charge, which was nice. The cabin was centrally located and was quite close to all the major towns and dinning places. So obviously we just did a lot of sightseeing, shopping and dinning.
The cabin was quite spacious and bedrooms large enough for families. Recommend this cabin for families with small kids to pan fish and use the row boat etc.
Property is located just a few miles south of Eagle River.
