About the property

Renting Fall & winter holidays & The Cooperstown Ice Fest. Family & Pet Fri

Built in 1869 and restored in 2001, this 2 story carriage house is set on an acre of land in the village of Cherry Valley, nestled between the Catskill and Adirondack Mountains. Surrounded by gorgeous gardens, tall trees, stunning fall foliage, you have the sense of total privacy along with the convenience of walking around the corner to enjoy the local restaurants. The house includes 2 bedrooms with a 3rd sleeping area, 2 baths, a large kitchen and a beautiful working fire place in a sunken living room, with a downstairs sun room, an upstairs vine covered deck and a large family room. Plenty of space for a large family, and a washer and dryer are on site.

For you history buffs, Cherry Valley was an important link between the Mohawk and the other Nations of the Iroquois Confederacy. In 1738, the village, originally known as The Lindesay Patent, which was land in the Mohawk Valley under King George, later became known as Cherry Valley, the site of the Cherry Valley Massacre, one of the most notorious events of the Revolutionary War on November 11, 1778. And yes, George Washington slept here! Cherry Valley was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 and you can visit the Cherry Valley Museum for more about the village’s place in history.

Cherry Valley is rich with artistic endeavors. CV Artworks hosts a series of concerts, openings and events such as the international kite festival and the sculpture trail, right in the center of town. Check the web site to see what is going on while you are in town. (www.cvartworks.org)

Within 15 minutes you have Cooperstown, rich with culture, history and sports. The home of James Fennimore Cooper and his Leatherstocking Tales as well as the Home of The National Baseball Hall of Fame, the Glimmerglass Festival and the Farmers and Fennimore Museum, there is something going on for everyone. Perhaps you want to do nothing but relax, ride a bike or rent a boat and enjoy the beautiful Otsego Lake. Or you can visit historic Sharon Springs (13 miles away). There are multiple golf courses, biking and hiking trails and antique shops in every direction.

If there is something you are particularly interested in doing let me know and I will help you arrange it.

About Pamela Noonan

I have an appreciation for Cherry Valley, having property that has been in our family for over 100 years. The geography is stunningly beautiful and the village is small and peaceful with a very strong artistic theme running through it.

Pamela Noonan purchased this barn in 1998

Why Pamela Noonan chose New York

There is plenty to do within 15 minutes in any direction yet, you can sit peacefully on the deck, listen to the koi pond, read a great book and walk to the local restaurants without needing your car. Cell phone and internet service is available and there are cultural, gastronomical, sport, botanical and creative choices a plenty.

What makes this barn unique

Visit the Cherry Valley Artworks site, www.cvartworks.org as well as the Cooperstown and Sharon Springs Chamber of Commerce for a long list of upcoming events.

Peaceful, spacious, and welcoming.

I loved this cottage! My friend and I decided to ring in the New Year someplace quiet and homey, Pam's place more than delivered. She kept in contact prior to and during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed, even having a toasty fire in the fireplace roaring for when we arrived. We definitely want to come back!

Great place to stay in Cherry Valley

  • 5 of 5

We spent this past weekend at Pam Noonan's amazing restored property in the quaint town of Cherry Valley. Close to Cooperstown we were looking for a place to spend a getaway weekend with friends. The barn is incredible - Pam has done an amazing job of renovating this historic property. Fully equipped and comfortable - we loved it. Pam had everything ready for our arrival - even a fire ready to light in the wood stove. We cooked dinner in the large kitchen and had all the equipment we needed. If you are looking for a different experience off the beaten path this is the place for you. We highly recommend it and look forward to visiting again.

Beautiful, large and unique property only short ride from Cooperstown!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a wonderful short weekend in Pam's beautiful carriage house with 4 adults and my 3 year old son. The home is much larger than it appears online with a great flow on the first floor, yet still has that cozy farmhouse feel. There are beautiful architectural factors throughout the home including sliding barn doors, wide plank flooring, claw foot tub (in addition to two showers/full baths) and artistically done concrete floors with radiant heating! Did I mention how nice it was to sit by the fire each night?! We truly enjoyed our stay and Pam was a wonderful host. We hope to get back up there in a few years. For those wondering the distance from Cooperstown ( I was), it is a short 20 min ride and the home and views are worth it!

Wonderful Cherry Valley find near Cooperstown

  • 5 of 5

Late last month my family and I decided to celebrate my husbands birthday with a much needed getaway at this beautiful carriage house. We had a wonderful time and felt relaxed and rested by the time we left on Sunday. Our host Pam was great from welcoming us with a fire in the woodstove upon our arrival, to making reservations at local superb resturants. Her home is warm, inviting and tastefully decorated. Comfortable beds, large soaking tub , well appointed kitchen in case you want to prepare a meal, and beautiful gardens are just some of the wonderful things this home has to offer. Cooperstown was only 15 minutes away and the drive with the fall colors was stunning. Pam offered us directions and places to visit and even allowed us to stay late on Sunday so the guys could watch football in front of the fireplace while the ladies went shopping and having a lunch date. The pictures are accurate and the home was extremely clean. We enjoyed visiting and taking a tour of Hale Hall , and going to Fly Creek to the Cider Mill. Had two wonderful dinners in Cherry Valley at The Rose and Kettle and Cantina da Salsa . I cant say enough about our wonderful weekend at Pams Carriage House. Thanks again Pam and I hope to see you again perhaps in the summer next time.

Fall in Cherry Valley

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent a long weekend at this beautifully restored home in Cherry Valley. What a truly unique property! Many of the materials incorporated into the remodeling have been repurposed from the original structure. Every room is comfortable and the outdoor spaces are gorgeous! Before we arrived, the owner had graciously started a fire in the big stone fireplace! We spent a lot of time right there! The owner was very helpful, making dinner reservations for two of the nights we were there. Both nights we had amazing meals in restaurants that were within walking distance. Cooperstown is a beautiful 15 minute drive away. The perfect combination of good company, beautiful fall weather, and an amazing space made this a weekend we will always remember.

Beautiful and Welcoming

  • 5 of 5

We were only able to escape for a short visit but it was more than worth it. Pam is incredibly welcoming and accommodating. She had a fire going upon our arrival in the wood burning stove, and the pictures of the property simply don't do it justice. There is so much detail and character in this home. Town was lovely and we had a great night visiting with the locals at the neighborhood Cantina. It's a close drive to Cooperstown and the foliage and landscape is so relaxing.

We can't wait to return with friends for a long weekend and cook a wonderful meal in her lovely kitchen and beautiful dining sunroom.

Thank you so much Pam for your hospitality and sharing your lovely home. We look forward to returning soon!
