About the property

Once You Are Here You May Not Want To Leave!!

Are you parents, and grandparents? Then this is the perfect home for your family get-together. Call us directly 8052181980 to book. We are situated in the beautiful Ventura Keys in a quiet friendly neighborhood. We are steps to a beautiful park with access to the water. Our home has all the amenities required for your family get-together. 4 large bedrooms which are perfect for the young married adults. And lots of room for the grandkids to play. Ventura has something for everyone, family fun such as; Marina Park, famous for ‘the ship’ with the flying fox, Ventura to Ojai paved bike path, miniature golf at Golf N’ Stuff and Historic Ventura Pier. For the adventurous and the active there are surf breaks, sport fishing, kite surfing and several hiking trails. From nearby Harbor Village there are boat tours that can take you scuba diving, whale watching, snorkeling and exploring the nearby islands, beaches and wildlife. You can also rent bikes, surfboards, paddleboats and kayaks. Organize a wine tour on the Ventura County Wine trail which stretches from Malibu to Ojai. You must experience the relaxed chilled vibe of Main Street, a short 5-minute drive or take a 15- minute leisurely bike ride into downtown, where you can shop in boutique stores and find treasures in the funky thrift shops. There’s also fine dining, casual dining, coffee shops, wine tasting, museums, galleries, Historic Town Hall and a local movie theater. Main Street also offers an exciting nightlife experience, where you can enjoy live concerts, live theater (Check show times @ Rubicon Theater Company) and several bars and restaurants to choose from. We also recommend a visit to Santa Barbara; a scenic 30-minute drive up the Pacific Coast Highway to see the beautiful beaches, mountains, pier and restaurants in the area, the Santa Barbara Zoo is also a fun and affordable day for the family. Another must see destination is Solvang, a quaint Danish village in the hills, windmills, clogs and all. Solvang offers shopping, Danish eateries and lots of great wine tasting.

For your pleasure we have available 2 beach cruisers and 2 hobie kayaks. You are only steps away to the Keyes Big Beach where you can access the water. Take the kayaks to Ventura Harbor Village and enjoy all the shops and great restaurants. Bring a fishing pole and try your hand at fishing out by the breakwater. Cruise the bikes down to Vons Supermarket (less than a mile away) and stock up on everything you'll need for a great retreat. If Golf is your passion we have two wonderful courses within a few mile radius. So much for the outdoor enthusiast to do in a cool (average 68 year round) atmosphere.

About John or Lynda Mors

We are the Mors. We have lived in Ventura since 1993 where we run a small business. We have raised 3 children here and have 4 grandchildren who love to come and get sand in their pants. We love everything outdoors, from hiking, biking, kayaking, sailing right out our front door. We can't wait for you to come experience this lovely area and have a wonderful adventure. This is me with two of my grandchildren at 'Big Beach' which is 2 houses down from us.

John or Lynda Mors purchased this house in 2000

Why John or Lynda Mors chose Ventura

We are located in a perfect area. Easily managed streets whether walking or riding a bike. A stones throw away from the water, sand, and playground and park. Kids and adults alike will have a great time at the paddle tennis courts, basketball, and volleyball. Locals will often be found fishing right off the neighborhood dock where you can launch the kayaks for a quick paddle to the harbor.

What makes this house unique

Quiet neighborhood, Friendly neighbors, close to water, close to harbor and Vons. Even a very nice water front restaurant within a few blocks of our home. In season we have a garden planted which we invite you to partake of. My wife grew up on a farm in Idaho and keeps me busy with providing the freshest of veggies. Tomatoes, lettuces, swiss chard, varieties of squash, green beans and snap peas to name a few. We provide a small assortment of recipe ideas for your enjoyment. When we purchased our home we could see from one of our master bedroom that there was a small view of the keyes water view. Coming from a construction background my wife said 'we need a window in here for a better view'. We punched a window in both the master and the game room and have never been happier. Imaging lying in bed and seeing the palm trees swaying and the blue sky and fresh breeze coming through the windows. Its awesome!! Best upgrade we did to our home for sure!! Oh, and the sunsets are Incredible!!!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful family vacation at you perfectly furnished home. We played with many of the games that were available, used the kayaks and in particular had some very competitive “pool” games. We also had a number of cook outs. As a base for exploring the Ventura, Santa Barbara, Oxnard area, it was perfectly situated. It was also close enough to the Los Angeles area that our children could easily come up when they wanted and return to their homes when they needed to. Since it was really hot in the Desert (114) and very warm in Los Angeles, the mild days and cool Ventura evenings were welcome. We look forward to returning in the future.

Geat Home, very nice and attentive owners.

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house and can accommodate one or two families. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a quite relaxing area of Ventura right next to the beach! Great Location near the Harbor, Beach and many great restaurants. They have Kayaks and Bicycles available for your use while you enjoy your stay too.

Five star rating!

Great Space, Excellent location!!

  • 5 of 5

We would definitely go back! Super location, my kids really loved walking acroas street to the park! Safe and clean neighborhood. We spent a day at the beach park across the way enjoying the paddle board & kayaks from the house! Very easy to pull equipment to water on the wheels they provide. Kitchen was wonderful and very well stocked. We spend most of our time hanging out in the game room. At times we had 10 family members and had plenty of room. Home is very comfortable. The owners were very easy to work with and extremely pleasant! Thanks John & Lynda!!

Perfect for 50th Birthday with Family

  • 5 of 5

There could not have been a more perfect and relaxing place to spend with 11 family members for a 50th birthday celebration. Upon arrival we were surprised with beer in the fridge and a bottle of champagne. This house is very spacious, comfortable and perfectly equipped with a large kitchen that is very well stocked, dining inside and out, a bbq for those like me that love to bbq. We were so comfortable cooking we had no need to go out and eat. Our family of 11 found John and Lynda's house a perfect match for everything we wanted to do for our stay. The proximity to the harbor, beaches, restaurants, shopping and main street made this a perfect location for all of us to do what we desired. We took advantage of the use of the kayaks being the dock at Big Beach is only two houses down. Located in a nice family friendly neighborhood also made us feel very much at home. All the bedrooms were very accommodating but I have to say the Master is by far something to fight for, the view of the Keys from the bedroom is amazing and the bed by far is the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The space in the house could not have been more enjoyable from sitters by the fire to congregating in the kitchen, playing pool upstairs, hanging out on the back patio, watching movies upstairs or tv downstairs, reading in front of the large front window and the office for those that just couldn't get away from work, we all seemed to find our own space and never felt crowded. I highly recommend this home for anyone wanting to enjoy a relaxing breathe of fresh air in a beautifully calming location and a PERFECT home. Thank you, thank you, thank you John and Lynda for sharing your personal paradise with our family! You are truly very special people!!!

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

When my son and his wife and 1 year old came for a visit from the east coast I wanted to recreate the family atmosphere and setting that he grew up with. This was the perfect family home. It was spacious and accommodating, with well appointed kitchen and patio area, close to a lovely park, a quick drive to surfers point... We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you Lynda and John.

Family Christmas Gathering

  • 5 of 5

When we found this house listed on VRBO, we knew instantly that it was a PERFECT fit for our 3-generation family of 10 to gather from all parts of the country for Christmas week! From the first contact with Lynda and John, we sensed the owners were very special people. All through the (easy) formal rental transaction they were available for contact and answering questions. Lynda also asked us about our family, so she could provide all that we would need for a special and relaxing time together. When we arrived we could not believe the incredible welcome that awaited us: wine, See's candy, home-made Christmas cookies, holiday paper goods, breakfast food in the fridge, and even Christmas decorations!! We all loved the huge kitchen, stocked with many essentials, equipped with top-of-the-line appliances, and open to everything going on in the downstairs living areas. We enjoyed the very children-friendly house, and the big dining table that fit all of us. The upstairs game/media room was fantastic for serious (and fun) pool tournaments, watching DVDs, children playing and reading books (especially when they woke up a bit early), and even our daughter's hours of work. (She could sit at the desk to do her painting, while still enjoying the breathtaking view out the window :). It was great having 3 full bathrooms, a washer and dryer, the expansive patio, the beautiful gas fireplace, the large sectional seating in the living room, amazing natural light, and just so much SPACE in the house to spread out when we wanted to. Everything was spotless! The sandy playground just two doors away was "heaven" for our little grandkids, and a quick drive or kayak to Marina Beach gave us all a great afternoon (fantastic playground there, too!). We also really enjoyed the beautiful drive to Santa Barbara, where we took a mission tour, ate a delicious Mexican food lunch, and wandered the quaint main street shops. It was so easy to cook in the fantastic kitchen (with a great grocery store minutes away), but it was also fun to get take-out food nearby, and go out for a casual, harbor-side seafood dinner (even with little ones). I can't forget the absolutely amazing views out the windows, especially the master bedroom!! (it was incredible, with the palm trees against the sunset or early morning light, and the houses and boats decorated with holiday lights!) We are SO grateful for the loving hospitality of the owners, and HIGHLY recommend this home to other families!!
