Enjoy your family vacation away from home feeling “at home” in this property! And don’t waste one second more than necessary driving or walking. You’ll enjoy fabulous sunsets, ample waterfront, proximity to Bigfork and your own boat slip! This two-level home boasts three bathrooms, three bedrooms and one large “bunk style” open room. The home can easily accommodate 8 to 10 people and pets are optional upon consultation with the owner. But hopefully you didn’t come to Bigfork to enjoy the air-conditioning and you’ll take advantage of the long summer days outside on the lake or perusing the galleries and restaurants of downtown Bigfork. So many possibilities and so little time! Make this home your home away from home for your next family vacation! Some of our home’s highlights below should tempt you!!
Zen Sunsets- Find your inner peace on vacation with the sunset view back-dropped against the lake and mountains of Flathead valley. And trust an old cowboy when I say that in the 40+ years of seeing them, they always astound me! Both levels have large windows and large open style floor plans facing west allowing unobstructed views of the fabulous Flathead Sunsets. But since most of you will be outside for the sunsets; let the purple, red, and orange hues mesmerize you along the 100+ft of waterfront!
Waterfront- The lower level of the home opens up to the lake only 10 steps from the cool crisp water of Flathead Lake! Bask in the tranquil sounds of waves along the 100 ft of developed shoreline. The water is deep enough to jump right off into the water! Your vacation will be perfect enjoying the mountain melt-off and the long sunny days of the Flathead valley; but if you get the itch to do some shopping, take a stroll to the Village of downtown Bigfork.
Walk to Bigfork-This house is situated the perfect distance to downtown Bigfork. Close enough to walk with loaded bags or small children but just far enough to avoid the noise of downtown nightlife! It’s about (not exaggerating) a 10 minute walk with children (or your heavy shopping bags!). We’ve timed it many, many times! Downtown Bigfork boasts award winning restaurants, galleries and shops while still maintaining the charm and serenity of small town USA. Location, location, location!!!
Boat Slip- Bringing a boat? Park it at the house (yes, in the water!). There are two boat launches within walking distance to launch your craft, but park it in front of the house in the private boat slip. As this was one of the original properties on the Flathead’s “gold coast,” you won’t have to share the boat slip (more like an open-walled boat house) with anyone else!
PLEASE NOTE- The boat slip can accommodate up to an 18 foot long boat with 8 foot beam and up to about 1800 lbs.
Bring your boat, bring your family, maybe your dog, and heck, even bring your in-laws, and have the experience of a lifetime close to downtown and right on the lake! Don’t wait to book your memories, I mean your vacation, today! (If you don’t someone else will!)
We are Bruce and Lana Nelson and we are Native Montanans. We have an awesome family of 12 children and 33 grandchildren. This family property resonates with all the fun we have had raising our family here.
We know that you will have a great time in this gorgeous setting also!
Owner lives next door to help with any of your needs during your stay. Our guests have loved this advantage.
Lana Nelson purchased this house in 1970
Bruce is a retired Chiropractor and chose to set up his practice in an area that he would like to retire in. He could think of no better place on earth to retire than Bigfork Montana.
We consider this place 'Heaven on Earth'.
We think the views of the sunsets here are as close to heaven as we can get.
Very clean and tons of room. And only feet away from a dip in the lake or hopping onto a boat or jet ski at the private dock.
Close to downtown Bigfork with easy highway access.
Would recommend this home to anyone!
This is a beautiful house with all the amenities anyone could want. The views are incredible. The owner did all she could to make our stay enjoyable. If you have questions or concerns they are there for the answer, whether by text or in person. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and already miss it. Thank you Lana!
Seriously the most amazing place! Beautiful view, perfect location and super nice neighbors!
We saw deers daily walking down the street, enjoyed time with friends and family and fireworks over the lake.
We love Big Fork and are def planning to come back me stay here again!
We got together with 3 families including 5 children/babies total. There was plenty of room for us all and the floor plan is nice and open for visiting and cooking/eating. The house was in good shape and clean - someone mentioned it is due for some updating but it was perfect for the families as we didn't spend a lot of time inside anyway and the beds were comfortable for a good nights sleep. The kitchen was well stocked which was important to us as we only eat in due to several food allergies. The only real downside, I thought, was that the master suite does not have a shower, so sometimes there was a wait to get everyone showered after being in the lake and outside all day.
The location is fabulous. It is so close to downtown Bigfork. You can walk/boat/paddle into town and enjoy all the cute shops, restaurants, distilleries, and breweries. There is a safe place to dock the boat at the house which was the best convenience for us. The boat lift was demonstrated and we used it all the time as Flathead lake can get windy when storms blow in. The outdoor area has a nice lower deck for hanging out with the younger kids and we enjoyed a firepit at night. The owners live next door and were very kind and helpful whenever we had questions!
I would definitely recommend staying here for your next gathering!
This property was wonderful for our family of 8 to stay and visit with local relatives. Very spacious, comfortable sleeping accommodations, nice well-appointed kitchen and living area. House is well-stocked with basics, such as towels and paper goods. Owners very pleasant to work with. Great location, close to town, park and water.
As advertised this property has great sunsets although due to wild fires our stay was very smokey. Location is great. An easy walk to downtown Bigfork. We had five adults but could easily handled more guests. We do like to cook a family Kitchen was average. Could use some updating. Overall you are paying for lake frontage 15' out the door.
The Bigfork Chamber has this to say about our lovely area-
“The town of Bigfork is a picturesque and charming place. World class art galleries, fine restaurants, a 27-hole golf course, live theatre and unique shops can all be found within a quaint Western setting. Located near by, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and the Swan Wilderness areas are full of wildlife and offer endless recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Chosen as 'One of the 50 Great Towns of the West' and designated as 'One of the 100 Best Small Art Towns of the Nation,' Bigfork offers you and your family a part of the West that you will never forget.”
We can't say it any better than that!
