Absolutely adored this home!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a short weekend right before the 4th. The house, pool, and location are fantastic. I grew up on St Simons, just down the street from this house, and it brought back so many memories for me. Our extended family (9 people total) enjoyed this home and we would have had plenty of room for more people. The short walk down to the myriad of restaurants, bars, and shops at the village etc makes for a great location.

The decoration, the location, the comfort, amenities. Zero issues. And the homeowners were incredibly pleasant to work with.

We unanimously agreed we'd stay in this home again. Thanks Stahl family!

Awesome house for a big family with kids.

  • 4 of 5

The kitchen has everything. They even have robes in each closet for your use. Plenty of linens, including beach towels. Great pool. The only negative was that the screened in porch had a rug that smelled like it had been peed on by a cat. Also on the same porch, there were moldy cushions on the chairs. These things need to be changed and it would be 5 stars.

Owner's Response: This home has never, ever had a cat in it. The screened in porch is canopied by a live oak and is four houses from the ocean. It is impossible for it not to be damp at times and smell like the outdoors. We replace both the rug and cushions approximately every six months. Living with outdoor odors is part of island, and especially ocean life.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

We came for the weekend with several of our friends and their kids. We had a wonderful stay and our kids loved it! The house is decorated beautifully and has anything you could ever need! It was just right for all our families to stay comfortably! The heated pool was the best part! The house is in a perfect location and within walking distance from the beach, as well as the village! We didn't have to drive anywhere the entire weekend! The owner was super nice and very helpful with any questions we had! We can't wait to come back again!

Cute house

  • 2 of 5

This is a cute house at first site. I really wanted to give a good review. Wish I could but I can't lie. I would like to know this information before booking. The pictures make the house look way bigger than it actually is. As with the pool too. We were allowed to get in a little early as you pay for a full day but can't get in till 4. Because of cleaning. After a couple of days we started to get congested and some of the kids upstairs got sick. My daughter n law went searching after one of hers went down. MOLD!! All in the vents and in the books downstairs. Because it was cold we had the heater on. This was blowing in all their faces as they slept. We informed her of it and she didn't seem to be too concerned. Said her cleaners were good cleaners. Well not so!!I have pictures which I've kept, she wasn't interested. Kids were excited about swimming in the pool. We were willing to pay the extra money which by the way is no where in the details of the listing. The heater didn't work, that was a little frustrating. So no swimming!!She did not charge us. Overall we enjoyed ourselves in St. Simons. Easy fun walk to town. The kids were able to skate board and play on the street as traffic was light. We all did go home sick. Hoping she has taken care of the mold in the vents and gotten new books. BEWARE, The owner of this house gave me a bad review which was wrong!! I also didn't appreciate it. I guess I asked too many questions (all of which I still have) she said please ask anything, so we did. I communicated too much I guess?? We left the house as per written instructions. We love St. Simons Island and look forward to going back. Just not this house!!

Owner's Response: Happily, in our twelve years of renting this home we have many, many repeat customers. These people are wonderful, lovely guests who take care of this house like it is their own. One family told me their child says "when are we going back to our beach house", that is how many times they have come. Sadly, in our twelve years this was by FAR the worst renter we have ever had. They brought more people then the home allows and then called us for more blankets. The heater on the pool was not broken, they did not understand you put the thermal blanket back across at night to retain the heat. When my husband went over to show them how to work the pool, there was a small child by the pool alone on a scooter. When the cleaning crew got there this guest had left 7 bags of trash in the home, dirty diapers, open containers of drinks all over the house etc. It took several days to clean it. The readers digest books she complained about were thrown away. There is absolutely no evidence of mold anywhere. This is a great, lovely home. Sadly, we rented to this guest...I knew when I would not give them four pm check out (for free) this is what we would receive. We have never had guests leave sick. That is absolutely ridiculous and if that were the case, why did they request a late check out for their deep sea fishing trip!

Quintessential SSI Charm

  • 5 of 5

My family spent Thanksgiving together here and everyone of us gave it 5 stars! We had plenty of room to relax, cook and enjoy lots of different activities! The town is blocks away with an adjacent park, playground, museum and historic lighthouse. The restaurants meet any palates desire-we recommend the Half Shell,-ask for George and order dessert!. This home provided our every need including signature bathrobes and a heated pool.We enjoyed our turkey dinner on the front porch at sunset with a spectacular view of the ocean. We were all very comfortable and welcomed by many of the friendly neighbors.

Great House in great location

  • 5 of 5

Our group had a fantastic stay here. There were 8 adults and 5 children and the house was plenty big enough for all of us. Charlene was very accommodating to let us check in early and to turn on the pool heater. The house was in a fantastic location. We could walk everywhere or ride our bikes. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone. Hopefully we will get to come back in the near future.
