VISTA DELFINO is our treasured vacation spot with a dolphin view. We searched the entire coast along Monterey Bay, and chose this spot for our own family gatherings. It is close enough to all the area's sights and conveniences, but quiet enough to make your trip a true getaway.

Relax in your condo with a wall of windows overlooking the water. Hear the waves crash outside your door. A block from the sand, head out for a morning walk on the beach, enjoy boogie-boarding or a picnic.

Watch the sea life from the deck, and from the open-plan living room, dining room and kitchen. Gather in the fully equipped kitchen to prepare all meals or only a few -- the choice is yours. Café Rio, the Pixie Deli, and Flats Bistro (coffee, pastries and pizza) just off the beach, are walkable locations for eating out. Many other restaurants, grocery stores, and shops are within a mile of the condo. Our informational guide (in the unit) lists places to eat, shop and sight-see.

Located in the less crowded Rio Del Mar neighborhood of Aptos, this is your perfect base for visiting Santa Cruz (10 minutes away) and Monterey/Carmel (30-40 minutes away), as well as local nature hikes and beach fun.

Vista Delfino is equipped with special features that make us feel pampered and refreshed. We hope our guests will appreciate them, too.

SLEEPS 4-6: Master bedroom has a King Sealy Posturepedic Pasadena mattress with 'plush' pillow top, and en suite bathroom with shower. Second bedroom has a Queen Simmons mattress with 3-inch memory-foam topper. The second bathroom, with bath/shower combination, is off the hall. Two fold-out futons are available for sleeping in the living room, most comfortable for youngsters. New bamboo flooring in both bedrooms October, 2016.

LINENS: The norm for local condos is 'bring-your-own linens,' but here, we want you to be worry-free -- we supply the linens! We supply all sheets, bath towels and beach towels for your stay. No need to pack an extra suitcase of sheets. We supply large, thirsty, deep-pile St. Moritz luxury bath towels for extra comfort.

FREE WIRELESS INTERNET and Extended basic cable.

KITCHEN WITH BREAKFAST BAR: Major appliances (see below), plus microwave, coffeemaker and cooking equipment. We provide cleansers and paper products. Help yourself to our collection of spices and condiments.

DINING: Dine indoors with a water view (dining table seats 6-8), or more casually on the deck. Gas barbecue is on the deck.

GARAGED PARKING: Two (2) dedicated parking spots (one behind the other) in the enclosed garage for average-sized cars only. Garage is shared with the neighbor. Trucks or large family vans must be parked on the street.

POOL: The pool (shared among condo residents and guests) is open all year, but heated from May 1 to October 31 only.

About Karen Brattesani

I (Karen) grew up in Oakland, across the Bay from San Francisco. My husband Doug and I met at U.C., Berkeley. After living in Seattle for 30 years, we are ready to spend more time in a warmer part of the west coast and get back in touch with our California friends and relatives.

Why Karen Brattesani chose Aptos

We searched for nearly a year for the perfect place to spend vacation time with family and friends. Our perch overlooking the Bay is ideal for nature-watching on the deck. Even in cooler weather, we have a front-row seat at our wall of windows, where whales and pelicans provide our best entertainment.

When we are here, the water calls to us to take long walks with feet in the foam, search for treasures at low tide, and admire sand castles (and make some ourselves). And at least one of us has taken up boogie boarding.

What makes this condo unique

Vista Delfino is close enough to Santa Cruz fun, shopping, and all the conveniences of a city, yet in our quieter neighborhood, we can relax with the sound of the sea as our background music.

Beautiful View

This home was exactly how it was pictured and described. We had everything we needed and were quite cozy. The view is AMAZING!!!! It is within walking distance of coffee shop, mini mart and a couple of dining options. I would suggest hitting up the Bitter Sweet which is off the freeway exit. Great spot for dinner!!! We highly recommend Karen's home as a vacation spot!

Unit 240Q

The unit was beautiful, well-laid out, inviting and spotless! The kitchen had all the amenities and barbecuing on the deck was effortless and enjoyable. Would recommend to anyone to try barbecuing swordfish (after marinating with lemon, rosemary, olive oil and salt) - unbelievably delicious and perfectly cooked! This was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the great weather - on the deck, on the beach, or even taking a drive to nearby Watsonville and walk around. Also, for readers, the unit is a veritable library of paperbacks to choose from if there is a need for reading material. Although we came primarily to "veg" out, there are unlimited activites available for the more energetic. AND, kudos to Karen and Doug for their immediate assistance at all times when needed.

Amazing beach stay

We had a great time at the beach condo. It was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay with three children. The view was amazing and we were able to watch whales every day from the deck! The pool was a perfect counterpoint to the beach. Thank you for an amazing stay!!!

We loved our stay! The location was conveniently located to many beaches and just a quick block to the closest beach which we could admire from the living room and dining/ kitchen area. The owners were professional, accommodating and helpful and even went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay! Our condo was clean and ready when we arrived. We would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

Vista Delfino overlooks a continuous 20-mile-long sandy beach, a destination for those who love the coast, its wildlife, beachcombing and surfing. It is 10 minutes from Santa Cruz (Surf City) and its famous Boardwalk, 40 minutes from Carmel by the Sea, and 30 minutes from Monterey, home of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row.

You can go swimming, boogie boarding and surfing at the many beaches along the bay. go hiking among the redwoods in the Forest of Nisene Marks State Park, or view jellyfish and shorebirds at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. And remember to take at least one evening walk along a beach or a cliff at sunset.
