Wonderful mountain home, 3 beds and loft in a quiet cul de sac in the foothills.

Welcome to our home here in beautiful Southwest Colorado, located in the quiet Twincreek Village area of Pagosa Springs. If you have never been to Pagosa Springs before, the town sits at an elevation of 7000 ft and our home is 600 feet higher in the Pagosa lakes area. Summers are mild with highs averaging 80-90 degrees at peak with cool evenings and mornings. Winter brings Wolf Creek resort, just 40 minutes away, the most snow in all of Colorado.

The location of our home is just far enough away to provide the peace and quiet you seek while close enough to be convenient to all Pagosa Springs has to offer. You will find that shopping, restaurants, golf, fishing and the Recreation Center are all approximately 5 min. away, and Wolf Creek Ski Resort a scenic 40 mile drive. Situated on nearly an acre lot backing to a large wooded open space you are sure to enjoy the privacy and secluded feel our home provides.

On your arrival you will find a beautifully decorated home, designed with comfort in mind. The Great Room features leather couches and chairs, custom log tables, and a convenient and warm gas fireplace. In the aspen entertainment center you will find the A/V system featuring a Home Theater Receiver, 43 inch; HD TV and BluRay DVD player. There is no regular TV or satellite service, but the system is connected by WiFi to the internet, with access to Netflix, Pandora, and other online media. There are also plenty of movies in the drawer below the system or feel free to bring some of your own.

The Dining Room seats 8 at the rustic southwest log dining table and there are 2 stools at the adjacent breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped and features a gas range with warming drawer, all stainless appliances, and all the kitchen items needed to please those of you who like to cook.

In the three bedrooms you will find one King on the main floor and a Queen bed in each of the 2 bedrooms on the second floor. All three bedrooms are furnished with a variety of custom aspen log and rustic iron pieces with a mountain lodge/southwestern flare. All of our beds are very comfortable and feature high end linens. Additionally, there is a private loft area with a twin over full log bunk bed which functions as a fourth bedroom. It includes a table for games, and an additional TV and DVD player making this a great room for kids. This room is what gives the house a capacity of nine, which is 6 adults and three children. We only recommend a capacity of 8 if all adults and 2 of those should realize they will be in the loft room on a full size bunk. Our home is not Air Conditioned and at 7600 ft. elevation we have never found a need for it. Opening a few windows in the evening and mornings, then closing them during the day is very effective at keeping the house cool all day since most nights the temps will drop into the mid 50's.

The large fenced back yard is left in the natural Ponderosa pine setting and there is a full size horseshoe pit for your enjoyment in the south end of the lot. The property is over 3/4 of an acre and more than half of that is fenced. We do allow dogs (no other animals), and restrict that to 2 maximum. Your dog must be over 2 years old, house broke and well behaved. They are also restricted to the main floor which is tile. We sometimes limit dogs during the spring melt off due to muddy conditions out back. Fees are $50/dog.

Pagosa Springs offers an almost limitless array of outdoor activities that vary with the seasons. All are within a short drive and some you will find right at your back door. Head out the back gate into the wooded open space on your way to the National Forest access which borders Martinez Canyon. Here, among other things, you can hike, bike, horseback ride, raft, rock climb, snowshoe or cross country ski. If a less strenuous form of leisure is on your agenda take a relaxing soak in the private hot tub, or if the season and weather dictates try curling up in the over-sized leather chair next to the fireplace with a good book and your favorite hot beverage. No matter what you choose your cares are sure to melt away. The association our property is a part of has a recreation center with workout rooms and a pool, and own the 4 lakes within it's borders. These are all accessible to our guests for a small fee and advance permission. The lakes are private so no Colorado fishing license is required.

In Winter, Wolf Creek Ski resort, on the continental divide, is only a 40 minute drive, and cross country skiing is available right out the door when the snow cooperates. During the summer try the excellent trout fishing on the San Juan River accessed right in town or one of the many streams and lakes near the house, such as the Piedra River or Williams Creek Reservoir. In June there is the annual Pagosa Blue grass Festival, and hot air balloons in the fall during Colorfest. Nearby Durango has the narrow gauge railway that will take you to Silverton in the San Juan Mountains on a beautiful ride along the Animas River. And do not miss the world famous healing waters of the Pagosa Hot Springs downtown along the San Juan River.

About Bill Milner

My wife and I purchased this home in hopes to move to Pagosa in a few years after our son finishes college, and goes out on his own. We intend to use the property as much as possible till then to get to know the area better and enjoy all the activities the area has to offer, and decided to share it as a rental till we are able to make that move.

We had spent some time in Pagosa previously and thought this would be a wonderful area to retire. While looking at properties we found this home and fell in love with it. The potential to rent it while we were not there is a new undertaking that we had not considered previously, and hope we can provide others with a great base in which to explore the beauty of southern Colorado. The property has a wonderful feel that people enjoy. It is very quiet, with great dark sky properties and surrounded by Ponderosa pines. The property is backed by a 70 acre greenbelt that is only a couple blocks from the San Juan National forest boundary and Martinez Canyon Gate trailhead.

What makes this house unique

We love the secluded feel of this area, but yet have the amenities of uptown of Pagosa only minutes away. The ability to hike, bike, walk, cross country ski and snowshoe right out our front door and into the forest is something we had only dreamed about till now.

We were in need of a relaxing week long vacation with a little excitement and fun thrown in. This home was EXACTLY what we were looking for. The "Pueblo" was very clean, modern with a cabin southwestern flair. (very nicely decorated) The hot tub worked perfect, really warm and clean with a beautiful view of sunsets and the forest. The beds had soft sheets, pillows were clean and medium firm. The loft is adorable! Cabin bunk beds, great TV, game cabinet, game table. My daughter took it over and was in heaven! The surround sound in the family room will rock your world. They have tons of movies in the drawer under the TV. We watched a great adventure film in surround sound, the TV was really large. You will not need to bring anything, seriously I totally over packed. I should have just brought food and drinks. (the Market is 5 minutes away) We grilled buffalo (from the specialty meat deli ) and tons of vegies from the farmers stand on the main road. Grill works perfect. The kitchen had everything needed , well appointed. Great restaurants minutes away. We hiked, mountain biked, swam in the hot spring (kept truck and bikes in the huge clean garage) Everyday at 7am we were visited by a small heard of deer and One baby!!..I woke up , had my coffee and sat on the patio watching them feeling very blessed to live in Colorado and to be staying in the Pueblo! The transactions from the owners was easy . They provided directions, codes, emergency numbers. Went very smooth.. Trust me when I say my family travels a lot and this was one memory that we will forever treasure! Thank you for sharing your home with my family!

Great location, 5 minutes form stores, restaurants and services but quiet and remote feel in the country. Deer frequent the back yard along with many other animals. Quiet Cul de Sac with several full time residents. The natural hot springs are ten minutes away in downtown Pagosa and should not be missed.

Everything We Hoped For

This house looked too good to be true online. We were so pleased when we arrived and found the house to be very clean, comfortable, well laid out and in a really nice location. The property is on acreage and although in a neighborhood it feels very private. The owners are very gracious and responsive. I had a couple of questions, and they got back to me right away. We loved it so much we’re going back next summer!

Perfect accommodations!

Bill was a pleasure to work with! The place was in a perfect location for us to get to the mountain to ski and also get around the town. The house was perfectly equipped with everything you would need! Will definitely think of the Pagosa Pueblo again!

Such a perfect place!

We had a great time at the Pueblo house. We had 8 family members and our dog on vacation for 4 nights. The house was fully equipped with anything and everything we needed, kitchen trinkets, spacious living/dining room, hot tub, fire pit, GREAT BEDS, two are garage!! The back yard makes you feel like you are in the woods out camping.The owners are so friendly and helpful with any questions or concerns. Absolutely would recommend this house for a family up to 10 people. Already planning our next trip back.

We really only recommend 9 max and that is if 2 or 3 are kids. with the 4th bedroom in the loft being a bunk room with no closets it is best used for 2-3 kids or one adult. We have had 10 adults there and find it a little crowded, so don't really allow that. Bill

Incredibly CLEAN, well appointed, cozy home!

Lovely, incredibly clean and well cared for home. EVERYTHING you could possibly need was there. We did a lot of cooking and were very pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was with utensils and wares. The hot tub was super relaxing, the weather was perfect for sunning on the porches. Perfect getaway for a bunch of friends. Loved it.

Great stay for two families

This is our second year coming to Pagosa Springs and skiing Wolf Creek - our first year to stay with another family.

While we’ve learned that house photos on VRBO tend to look bigger than the actual space, the house was spacious enough for the nine of us to relax, dine together, etc.

The master bed was quite comfortable, as was the double and bunk beds. The couple that stayed in the Queen bedroom said they tended to roll to the center. The bunk beds were a bit squeaky when the person on top shifted.

We loved being able to gather around one big table to eat and play games.

The kitchen had a good variety of small electronics- a large and tiny crock pot, rice cooker, lots of utensils, and even spices. We really didn’t have to buy anything but the food for the meals we ate - breakfast and dinner for six days.

The hot tub was amazing! I’ve never seen one with suh a therapeutic placement of jets! Most of us enjoyed a nice soak after a long day of skiing. One night, we had S’Mores at the outside fire pit. And the fireplace was simple to operate and provided a pleasant ambiance and plenty of heat.

The garage was a bonus - as we were able to park our big Suburban inside as well as the other couple’s smaller SUV.

We did have a couple of questions after arrival, and the owner was quick to respond.

Two sets of washer / Dryers were really a blessing with four adults and five active kids.

We’ve already started discussing a trip in 2019, and would love to come back to Pueblo Pagosa!

We have many inquiries for available dates and unfortunately dates we mark as tentative do not show on the public calendar. Since many people do not follow though after initial contact we now lock in dates for the first payment received whether we have been talking with you or not. Pets (Dogs Only) must be pre-approved and the $50 fee is per dog/ 2 dog maximum.
Minimum age requirement of 25 years or older for contracted guests.
Also if you pay with echeck please double check that you entered your account and routing numbers correctly. There is a $25 charge for any bounced back payments due to bad account numbers or insufficient funds.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 14 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
