Enjoy a front-row seat on the coast in roomy townhouse at Island House A209! From our balconies you can gaze out at the beach, savoring that hypnotic sound and salty breeze. Make a date with the sunrise and come stay at our comfortable condo!
The living room and each of the bedrooms is treated to private balconies in our spacious, light-and-airy condo. Outside the living room, the tiled balcony contains a cheerful white wicker breakfast table, just perfect for whiling away a lazy morning or saying a leisurely good night to the day! You'll see plenty of shore birds sailing over the dunes, and every day the sunrise and sunset will put on a magnificent show.
The great view continues inside the living room, where huge sliding glass doors reveal the beach, ocean, and blue sky. Settle into our super-soft couch or oversized easy chairs and feel your cares melt away as you take in the sight! Once the last light is gone from the sky, sit back and enjoy a game or your favorite movie on our large TV with VCR and DVD player. There's plenty of room for the whole family!
The dining area and kitchen are close to the living room, keeping the action centralized. You'll love our long dining table, which seats 6 for meals, games, and family conferences. If you have a moment, pop open the computer and catch up on your social media -- there's free wireless Internet at Island House A209.
A fully stocked kitchen and adjoining pantry/utility area let you decide how much cooking you want to do on this trip. Our spotless appliances, labor-saving devices, cookware, dishes, and utensils set you up with everything you need for preparing a feast or simply microwaving last night's takeout. Pop the groceries in the fridge and cupboards and you're good to go! And when it's time to wash a load of towels or fluff-dry the beachwear, the washer and dryer are ready and waiting.
When it's time to get away from all the entertainment of the main area, you'll find the master bedroom a glorious heaven. The bed is king-sized and very comfortable, assuring you of a great night's sleep. It is positioned right along side another large sliding glass door overlooking the ocean, with your own little balcony just waiting for a moonlight meeting or dawn cup of coffee. Close the curtains and sleep in, or leave them open and let the morning sun wake you delightfully!
The master bedroom also has a TV, easy chair, plenty of dresser space, and an en-suite master bath. A ceiling fan keeps the cool air moving, especially if you decide to throw open the sliding glass door and bring in the sound and smell of the waves!
The second bedroom boasts a queen bed and lots of floor space for those Lego construction sites. It too has a private balcony with unbelievable views and a sun-soaked sliding glass door. It's not possible to get the 'lesser' bedroom at Island House A209!
In addition to the en-suite master bathroom, there is another full bathroom and a half-bath at Island House A209. The one place you don't want togetherness on your vacation is in the bathroom, so there's enough room for everyone.
Island House A209 is part of a beautifully landscaped condominium complex offering a beachside swimming pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard, ping pong, and private beach access. Crescent Beach is wide, family-friendly, and beautiful, with options for fishing, watercraft of all kinds, body-surfing, and sand activities from castle building to bocce ball.
Our condo is very near to world-class golf links, not to mention historic St. Augustine, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the major family attractions in Orlando (less than a 2-hour drive) and beyond. Though you'd never know it from your oceanfront balconies, you're right in the heart of vacation territory at Island House A209, making it the ideal jumping-off point for all your adventures!

Although the unit was clean, it really could use some updating! The kitchen table is an outdoor table with wooden slats. Clearly when wiping it down, everything fell through the cracks. We are aware of people who stayed in this same unit over 20 years ago and this table was there then. Another suggested update would be the 2 chairs in the living room. They are stained, but more importantly they are extremely hard and not comfortable at all. For us, it seemed to be a race to the couch in the evening because nobody wanted the chairs. The toaster was broke on one side and one slice on the other side was broke. Lastly, the mattresses in both bedrooms were less than comfortable. 3 out of 4 of us had an aching back before leaving for the week. Island House is an old condo and clearly could use an update overall throughout the entire complex!
Just enough room
From when we booked our trip to our actual stay furniture had been updated. There is now a double bed in the second bed room where we would have preferred the two twins in the original description. There were extra beach toys, umbrella, boards, and chairs which were a bonus. We had trouble with the master shower drain when we arrived, maintenance came out on our first call and got it fixed. The dryer could be updated as it took two or three times through to get anything dried. We had beautiful weather on our beach days and our tour days of St. Augustine.
PERFECT LOCATION AND BEAUTIFUL VIEWS
This is the perfect condo for a week at the beach. The unit was immaculate and well furnished and offered wonderful views of the ocean from the main living area and the master bedroom. The complex has a very nice pool, tennis courts, clubhouse, etc. for your use as well. You are steps away from the beach (not crowded) and within walking distance of shopping and dining. Olde Town St. Augustine is only 10 minutes away and anyone new to the area cannot leave without touring the old fort and walking the market. The only negative was the bed in the master bedroom, which is in need of a new mattress.
Dining recommendations: Redfrog McToad's, Salt Life, and Saltwater Cowboy's.
Island House A209 April 2015
We really enjoyed staying in this condo. The location was perfect, within the complex and proximity to downtown St. Augustine. The view did not disappoint, absolutely beautiful. The 2 bedroom condo had just enough space for our family of 4. We'd definitely stay here again!
Escaping the snow and ice in February
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful unit. The view from our veranda was spectacular, regardless the weather. When we had no service for WiFi, the rental company arranged to have it remedied promptly. The unit was clean and comfortable. We did have one problem the last day of our stay. When my husband was packing the truck, he fell on the concrete stairs and injured his knee severely. It will require surgery immediately. The only drawback to staying in this unit is the number of stairs. Be sure to consider this in advance.
Great Vacation at Island House A209
We had stayed at this property 2 years earlier and just loved everything about it. The property was very clean and well maintained. We also loved the area. The historic sites like the Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas were fascinating. I would recommend the Tini Martini Bar for drinks while touring the old part of St. Augustine and dinner at Saltwater Cowboys or their sister restaurant Creekside Dinery.
