About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 6

Bring your whole family on a Venice Beach vacation, but don’t stay in a condo ten floors in the sky. For a comparable price you can reserve Nantucket Home where you’ll have a private, heated pool with screened lanai, fenced yard, and you’ll be just five minutes from Venice Beach. Even your pets are welcome and will have a high time frolicking in the backyard and down at Browhard Paw Park where they can play on the beach and experience the Gulf of Mexico. You’re also within walking distance of Shamrock Park. Nantucket Home has a bike in case you want to ride to the park, or take your pet and walk down to this beautiful oasis close to home.

The highlight of Nantucket Home is the beautiful pool with covered lanai. You can enjoy a dip any time day or night, or just sit in the lounge chairs and enjoy a cool drink as you watch the kids splash around in the pool.

When you walk in your front door, you’ll be pleased to discover the spacious floor plan. Comfortable couch and recliners are arranged to give everyone a good view of the flat-screen TV. You also have a DVD player in case you want to watch an old favorite some evening. Air-conditioning and ceiling fans keep everyone the perfect temperature year-round. Of course, you also have heating for the occasional cool evening. Nantucket Home also has free wireless Internet. Use it to make reservations, check out websites for area attractions, or stay in touch with friends back home.

Your Nantucket Home kitchen is open to the dining room through the breakfast bar. This kitchen is ready to handle your group with ease. In addition to a full complement of appliances, you’ll find cookware, serving ware, and utensils to handle your menu. There’s a nearby grocery where you can pick up ingredients. Of course, you could also fire up the charcoal grill and give everyone the chance to dine on local seafood on the lanai. The salt air smells so good and food tastes even better in the outdoors.

You also have a dining room within Nantucket Home where you can serve four. Set up additional guests at the breakfast bar. With Nantucket Home’s great location, you can always slip down to Venice Beach for a dinner out. Sharky’s Restaurant and the Venice Pier are close at hand.

Another room that’s always popular with guests is the Nantucket Home sunroom. Large windows let in lots of Florida sunshine and two couches provide an excellent space for reading, conversation, or an afternoon nap.

After you’ve watched the sunset off the Venice Pier and enjoyed a final cocktail out on the lanai, you’ll no doubt be ready to head for bed. Your master bedroom is an ideal retreat from the world where quiet and personal comfort reign. Settle into your queen-sized bed and let a favorite late-night TV program lead you off to sleep. You also have a large dresser and nightstand with lamps in case you want to do a little late-night reading.

When you wake, you’ll find a private master bathroom awaiting you with a shower/tub combination and expansive vanity with large mirror. Before you know it you’ll be ready to head out to explore Venice Beach.

The second bedroom is outfitted with two twin-sized beds perfect for a second couple or any kids joining you in Florida. This cheery room has a large dresser and ceiling fan that along with the flat-screen TV will help guests quickly fall asleep.

Additional guests can sleep on the two sleeper sofas available in the living room.

The second bathroom within Nantucket Home has a walk-in shower and large vanity with plenty of storage space for your guests’ toiletries.

Nantucket Home also has an in-home washer and dryer. No standing around a Laundromat for you! Just toss in a load of clothes and head out for a day of fun at the beach. You’ll also like that your home has a garage where you can get your car in and off the street.

Escape the crowds and enjoy Venice Beach from a comfortable home setting. Make Nantucket Home the site of your next Florida vacation. Book your stay today!

Cozy and peaceful house pet friendly amazing

  • 5 of 5

I spent one month at this house and it was perfect. Big pool and fenced yard with lots of privacy. Very quiet neighborhood. Do not expect any luxury if you rent this house, it is pretty basic. But everything you need is there and the house is very clean. I enjoyed being able to park my car in the garage. I would rent this house again!

Needs a lot of love!

  • 2 of 5

Nasty pet stained carpets, pool needs resurfacing & painting, dead trees in front yard, main bath sink faucet comes off, needs two new toilet seats, stereo system for cds doesn't work and speakers outside don't work, TV in master bedroom needs updating and mounted high on wall for easier viewing, dining room chair has electrical tape on rung of back of chair.

The refrigerator made a noise for about 5-10 seconds almost every half hour. (Think it may be the icemaker which didn't work but was trying to.) The stove was uneven and the electric drip pans were either nasty dirty or rusty. There was no garbage dusposal.

When I saw the water conditioner man I told him how the water stunk like rotten eggs and it was hard to wash the soap off when showering because the water had too much salt in it. He turned back the amount of salt and cleaned, drained and refilled the aerator because the water level was too high. This caused the stink. This fixed both problems.

I would not rent this place again unless it was un-carpeted and tile is put down.

I was there Feb 1 til Apr 1...TWO MONTHS.

Functional but not great.

  • 3 of 5

The layout of the house, with bedrooms/ baths on opposite sides of the house, a nice pool with screened lanai, was really nice. That said, all the furnishings were flea market quality or lower and very worn. The carpets were dirty and badly worn. At least the appliances worked and the neighborhood ferry to a remote beach was a delight.

Housekeeping had not been completed in spite of our after 5 pm arrival. Our first impression was awful and when we looked further we found completely dusty air filters, stained carpets, no light bulbs in fixtures, carpet tears repaired with duct tape, and black mold behind couch on back porch. Calls to office did get a very nice housekeeping crew that came and cleaned from 8 until 10 pm. We were very concerned about the mold and filters but got poor service from call center staff saying only it required manager attention and none were available.

I expected a call the next morning but received none. Called at 11:15am and again stated concerns. We were finally able to move late afternoon. Lost a day of our trip, had to forward mail, etc. Newer location was not near Shamrock Park - accommodations were okay. Not a good first experience.

Nantucket House Review

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic stay at the Nantucket House in South Venice. The house met our needs very well. This home is in a great location as it's close to numerous area beaches, and Shamrock Park is a great park within walking distance. The house and pool were all very clean upon arrival, and we immediately felt at-home. This is somewhat of an older home and the kitchen and baths have not been updated, but they were all fully functional, so we had no complaints. We ran into a few maintenance issues during our stay, but Kevin was very responsive each time we needed to reach out to him, and all of the issues were addressed very quickly. I cannot say enough about how good the maintenance service was. The only cons about the property were: 1. the sofa bed - the sofa itself was fine and quite comfortable; but the bed part of the sofabed is worn out and would not be comfortable for a person to sleep on; 2. the yard could use some TLC as there were some overgrown plants on the walkway in the backyard; 3. the tv in the master bedroom was small and old, and the tv in the guest bedroom didn't have cable. Otherwise, everything was great. The pool was maintained regularly; the lawncare guy was there regularly. Everything was just very, very nice. Our kids and ourselves were very happy with our stay here and we are definitely looking forward to staying here again.

Comfortable and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time, just a short trip to our favorite beach. The house was comfortable and just the right size for us. Loved having the pool available for morning, afternoon and evening swims. Would definitely stay there again if it is available.
