About the property

4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, Sleeps 8

A path from the doorway of Three Palms, our charming oceanfront bungalow in Ponte Vedra, leads straight through the dunes and down to the pink sands of one of Florida's best beaches. Discover laid-back beach living at its very best! Come to Three Palms!

The ocean is glassy, the ultra-fine sands soft and inviting, and the natural dunes simply beautiful on our beach in South Ponte Vedra. And when you look out the back door and see the simple path leading straight to the horizon, you'll know you've arrived at one of the last real beach houses remaining in Florida -- no advertising, no crowds, just you and the sun, surf, and sand!

Three Palms is a mid-20th-century bungalow style home that has been extensively refurbished inside without losing one bit of its natural charm. The living room offers a relaxed setting for winding down after a busy day at the beach. Boasting a decorative fireplace, an open work beamed ceiling, ultra-comfy couches and chairs, and an HDTV with DVD player, it's the kind of room you can imagine spending hours in on Sunday morning, the paper spread out everywhere, soft music playing, the kids building with Legos or playing a board game on the floor. Home, in other words!

A spacious and pleasant as the living room is, there's another lounging area at Three Palms too, just in case, your group needs to split up (such as when the big game is on TV and everyone else wants to play Win Lose or Draw!). The sun room is a glorious space, with a long bank of windows, a door outside (many rooms at Three Palms have doors going outside -- it's just too wonderful a location to stay inside for long!), a homey fireplace and mantel, and the most addictive plaid couch and chairs you will ever have the pleasure of napping in! Track lighting offers nice spotlights for reading or playing games, and the soft lamplight is perfect when it's time for a late-night heart-to-heart. You can gaze out at the lush Florida landscape while enjoying the cool comfort of this space. You're going to love it!

The dining area is drenched in sunlight too, with windows on two sides of the room. Our table for 6 is supplemented by bar stools along the kitchen counter for the kids, and makes a great computer and game area.

The kitchen offers a retro feel that we think you'll adore. Painted in aqua tones that may remind you of the early 1960s, it offers bright white counters, all the modern appliances, and plenty of cupboard and worktop space. You can go straight from the kitchen out to the patio too, making al fresco meals even easier! And we've got all the cookware, utensils, and dishes you need to prepare and serve just about anything.

There are 4 bedrooms at Three Palms. The master bedroom offers a luxurious king-sized bed, TV, ceiling fan, and long window. Its attached bath leads (where else?) outside -- very handy when the gang is on the patio enjoying the ocean view.

The second bedroom also contains a king bed, with cool aqua walls, a small TV, and light wicker accents. The third bedroom offers 2 twin beds, while the 4th features a day bed with a trundle. We've also got a sofa bed for 2, so feel free to bring as many as 8 folks to stay at Three Palms. You'll all be comfortable!

We have a second full bathroom with both a shower and tub option, as well as a half-bath. All of your bedding and towels are provided here, along with a full-size washer and dryer to keep everything clean and fresh. Come as you are and let Three Palms do the rest!

Three Palms is located along a quiet oceanfront strip of private homes that really shows off the natural beauty of the dunes and beach. Close to Guana State Park and Environmental Center, it's an oasis of old-fashioned Florida charm. Yet you're just minutes from world-class golf, exclusive spas, horseback riding, and water sport equipment rentals. So whether you want a quiet beach retreat or an action-filled vacation, Three Palms is your best destination!

This property has optional access to the prestigious 5 Diamond resort The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club.

Not what was portrayed in the description and the description and pictures

The house has a beautiful view of the ocean and is situated right on the beach, renters need to be aware that the home is in severe disrepair. When we arrived the dilapidated entrance was quite disappointing. When we put our food in the refrigerator and freezer the overwhelming smell of dead fish was quite alarming. We found a bag of dead fish remains in the outside trash can by the back of the house. Someone must have been fishing!

There is little to none in regards to cell phone service. The internet / Wi-Fi was sketchy. Unfortunately everything we brought whether it was used or not will have to be laundered due to the number of bugs that we saw in the house. There were numerous lights that had dead bulbs, the kitchen was poorly stocked. The second bathroom is a lawsuit waiting to happen... There is no bar to hold on to for access and the tub is quite slippery. We did not use it for fear that someone would harm themselves.

Beach is great - house not so much.

  • 3 of 5

If you want to be steps away from the beach and don't mind a dated beach cottage then this is the place for you. I gave it three stars because of the great private beach. We knew when we rented it that it was older and dated. However, if the owners would give this house a weekend of hard, elbow grease, it would be much more habitable. Yard work is needed; fence has a hole in it and vines are all over fence and house; dishwasher is not set in and every time you open it nearly comes out of the wall. Furniture needs to be updated or cleaned. Outdoor shower does not work and there is no hose to wash off. There is very little cell coverage and our house phone did not work the entire time we were there. Cable and wifi went out and wifi never came back up. Called the property managers but to our knowledge they never came by. Kitchen is very well equipped. There is great potential for this house but in current condition we would not rent again.

Noisy and lacking but right on the beach

  • 2 of 5

We stayed at Three Palms the week of 3/12/17. Our stay was only fair. The proximity to the beach was fantastic and the bedroom/bathroom combinations were adequate. Several basic amenities were lacking. The microwave never worked and the dishwasher only worked so-so. After calling three days consecutively we were finally told that they were both going to be replaced the following week. The washer and dryer were functional but extremely loud. None of the fans in the bathrooms worked - called this in as well and was never addressed. The master bedroom had a window unit A/C but first time we turned it on it blew dust out so we turned it off and never tried again. The proximity to A1A is very close - road noise was very noticeable at all hours especially in the two bedrooms nearest the road. Furniture and flooring all merely adequate. There was evidence of water damage on the ceiling of the master bedroom and there appeared to be something living in the ceiling. We heard noises but could never determine what was making them. While we enjoyed the proximity to the beach and to St Augustine I would not rent this place again. Also, while we did not bring pets I would caution anyone who might - the fence is not secure - several holes and gaps - a small dog would easily get out and a larger dog could go over or even through some of the holes.

Very run down!

  • 1 of 5

About the only good about this place is the space. It has 4 bedrooms and plenty of space that is comfortable for 8. Overall, the property is severely run down. There has been no clean up after the hurricane that hit back in fall of 16. There were scraps of wood, and trash littered all throughout the backyard. The dishwasher and microwave didn't work, and after contacting vacation rental pros it took over two days for someone to come out and that was after I called them back. The service person said both things needed replaced and he would contact the owner. We never heard anything back during our stay. There were several lamps that didn't work as well. The furniture was very worn and looked like it had never been clean. None of the windows would open which would be nice being that it's right on the ocean. The beds were awful, almost all of them squeaked badly. The other thing to be aware of is that the road noise is pretty loud as cars fly down A1A over 60-70MPH. Make sure you have a fan to help drown out the noise. There were also two house showings while we were there which could potentially be an interruption to your day. They say you get what you pay for, but we payed too much for the shape this property was in. We knew it was a bronze property and a bargain but it was a little ridiculous. The only other redeeming quality is the location. It's located in between St. Augustine and TPC Sawgrass which was awesome and close enough to great shopping and restaurants. We won't be using vacation rental pros again, very poor customer service.
