Welcome to Casa Tropical. Unit 4CS at the El Cantil luxury condominium resort in Cozumel.

The first thing you will notice when you enter our unit is the breath taking ocean view. You will see that view from every portion of the living, dining and kitchen area through the 64 foot wrap around terrace. Two of the bedrooms have sliding glass doors to walk out to the terrace. On the terrace you will find a private hot tub, lounges, tables and chairs.

You will remember forever the panoramic view of the blue turquoise water with Playa del Carmen in the distance. The terrace is west facing for unforgettable sunsets. Watch cruise ships go by, as well as the dive, fishing and other excursion boats that you will see all day. Watch the cruise ships come in with your morning coffee, and watch them leave with your evening glass of wine (perhaps while relaxing in your private hot tub).

Our unit footprint (3,100 square feet) was originally intended to be a four bedroom condo. Instead it was custom built as a three bedroom unit. Accordingly, it is the largest three bedroom, and the only three bedroom corner unit, in the building. As a result the bedrooms are extra large with walk in closets and extra sized full en-suite bathrooms. The kitchen has a sliding glass door (originally intended for the fourth bedroom) allowing full unit cross ventilation.

In addition there is a 1/2 bath in the living area, as well as a wet bar and wine cooler. There is a Kohler Body Spa tub in the master bathroom. Plus the following; Fully furnished GE kitchen with granite counter tops, filtered city water with 3 stage ultra violet purification, air conditioning individually controlled by room, keypad entry door lock and in-room safes. The beds all have Sealy True Form mattresses. Hair dryers in each bathroom, iron and ironing board. Dish network TV (with US stations including HBO, ShowTime, Stars, CNN etc), DSL Wi-Fi, and VOIP phone for free calls to the US. Flat screen TV's in each bedroom, and living room (Smart TV that connects to Netflix).

Rate includes twice-weekly maid service, 24 hour security doorman, and local professional property management for quick response to any needs that may arise.

El Cantil is the only luxury condo resort near town. You will not need a car or even taxis to visit the best restaurants, entertainment and shops. If you want to make your own meals, there is a full grocery store directly across the street, and a superstore (Walmart style) two blocks away.

But at the risk of repeating ... you won't believe the view ... and might not want to ever leave the terrace. But if you do ... right downstairs, without leaving the property, is an infinity pool and beach with palapas and lounge chairs.

If you are a scuba diver you can be assured that the resort is diver friendly (we are ... and that's why we own here). The on site dock allows you to be picked up by any dive operator on the island. And when you return, only steps from the dock is a rinse tank and covered, ventilated, locked storage. You won't have to drag your gear back to the unit, and it will be dry by the next morning.

Relax on site or explore the island. Car rentals to do your own island tour are available. Or hire a taxi. See Mayan ruins, remote side of the island, beach clubs on the south end, swim with dolphins, go zip lining, or enjoy a Mayan steam lodge, to mention just a few on island activities. You can also take the ferry to Play del Carman to explore the mainland, including cenotes, Mayan ruins and more.

Why Gary & Patricia Gomola chose San Miguel

While diving every major spot in the world we kept returning to Cozumel. We realized that Cozumel rivaled places much further away. We love the island, its people and the food. It is one of the safest places we have been. We actually considered purchasing at El Cantil while the first building was being built, but it was not the right time for us. We always said 'we will own a property here some day'. A few years ago, while entering our retirement phase, the time was right.

What makes this condo unique

Location. Everything is within walking distance. Shopping and restaurants. Did we mention that the food is fabulous? Most restaurants are reasonably priced compared to other islands.

Excellent Vacation Home

Stayed here 8 nights with my family and son's GF. This unit itself is gorgeous and very well appointed with large rooms. The best part is the outstanding views! I thought that perhaps the primary photo was a tad color 'enhanced' - but it isn't; it really looks like that with late morning sun. The location is also excellent; its about 3 blocks south of the 'main' action by the ferry dock, plus there are two large stores (think slightly smaller versions of Walmart or Super Target) within a block. The pool and faux-beach are only for the condo complex with secure access, so you don't have anyone there but other owners/guests. This is not a resort, so there's no pool-side service or onsite restaurant, but there's also no thumping music or vendor traffic. Getting pool-side chaise lounges for 6 was never a problem. There is a little bit of road-noise from the main Av. Melgar, but not bad. The City hall/police are right across the street, so we felt very safe. The 24-hour on-site security is also very comforting, but not really needed. The only major downside for us was that the dishwasher was broken, so had to do dishes the old-fashioned way... (The owner had ordered a new one, but apparently even Amazon takes weeks down there...)

Way above expectations

The pictures although very inviting do NOT compare to how Spectacular this condo was. The views were beyond gorgeous--stunning! Well furnished and very spacious. Basically 3 master bedrooms in one condo. We made daily trips to grocery store across the street for fresh pastries. Highly recommend!!

Our week at El Cantil was perfect. The unit is spacious, open and has every amenity. The location immediately adjacent to the beach is wonderful and at the same time the proximity to restaurants, shops and grocery stores makes everything so convenient. If you want to go farther afield and want a taxi, they are abundant and very reasonably priced. Finally, and perhaps most impressive is that all the staff at El Cantill are extremely welcoming and helpful. More broadly, the locals on Cozumel are as friendly and welcoming as any people can possibly be and will go out of their way to be helpful. Besides all the things to do on the island not the least of which is the snorkeling/scuba diving, a short trip by ferry to Playa del Carmen to access the Mayan ruins of Tulum and Coba is highly recommended

Indescribably beautiful!

This condo has it all ~ beauty, extreme comfort, accommodating staff, easy access to markets, stores, movies, restaurants within walking distance ~ and an endless number of other attractions. The view from the deck is breathtaking. You'll find it hard to tear yourself away. That vantage point has to be seen in person! Taxis, carriage rides, bicycles, motorcycles and boats are all at your disposal. And you won't find a better couple than Gary and Pat to rent from. Their love of Cozumel and their beautiful condo is reflected in their willingness to help make your stay a dream come true. Enjoy!

Perfect location! Everything you could want!

Very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The view from the porch is amazing...perfect place to enjoy your morning coffee. The condo is well equipped and convenient for walking to many great restaurants and fun shopping. Quick cab ride to all the sights. We felt very safe here, with the doorman always right downstairs to hail cabs and answer questions. The owners were very nice and responded quickly with lots of helpful suggestions. One of the best parts of our stay here was Alex, the property manager. He arranged tours, diving, dinners, etc. and made everything very easy to do.

One of the nicest places we have ever stayed

What a great experience. We rented this massive 3 bedroom condo with another couple and our son. We all had our own space and had a lot of common space also. Walk down to the water everyday to either swim in the Caribbean, lounge by the pool or under a palapa and then into the pool. Head up and watch the sunset from the 64' patio. Beutiffuly decorated and everything you need to make a week fly by way too fast. Also took a 4 hour tour with Sonny and would highly recommend him to anyone. He is on Facebook. Walked into town everyday for lunch or dinner and over to Mega or the other hard to spell grocery story for supplies whenever needed. Great place all around.
