Lovingly renovated with inspiration from the Alhambra, the interior of Casa San Jose is built around the original patio which rises up through it's centre, opening up to the sky. The patio is covered by a glass roof which can be rolled back during the summer months. The large ground floor entrance has a fountain and tiled seating area. A wide stairway leads to the first floor where most of the bedrooms and bathrooms are situated. The mainly open plan second floor provides spacious living areas, dining and the kitchen. The house has several terraces providing both shaded and sunny places to sit, relax, eat and swim in the large private pool.

Golf Details: There are two 18 hole golf courses, one on the coast at Motril and the other close to Granada. Both are approximately 35 kms drive.

Ski Details: The Sierra Nevada ski resort, 'Sol y Nieve' (Sun and Snow), is approximately 50 minutes drive away. The ski season starts in December and can run through until April.

Brilliant Location : Magnificent cities, great beaches, good walking, skiing, golf, swimming, shopping and a genuine experience of Spain.

Notes:
The pool is large (10m by 4.5m). It is 2m at the deep end and has underwater lights, which are spectacular at night. It can also be heated; please contact us to make a special arrangement for this facility. The washing machine is situated in a utility room. For winter usage, all floors have underfloor heating. Our cleaning lady visits regularly to maintain the pool. Extra cleaning/maid services can be arranged at an hourly rate. Telephone to request.

Beautiful House, Fantastic Location

I stayed here for a week with six other friends in April. The house is rustic, gorgeous, and spacious. There is a pretty tiled fountain courtyard on the ground floor that opens out to the roof of the house. A giant glass window over the little courtyard can be rolled back, opening up the whole house to fresh air. The layout of the house is very open with the central courtyard allowing you to interact with all three floors of the house.

On the second floor there are four bedrooms (1 with a bunk bed, 1 with a double bed, 1 with two single beds, and another 1 with two single beds), two bathrooms, and a small living room. On the third floor is the master bedroom and bathroom. There is one more half bathroom on the ground floor by the entrance. The dining room, another living room, and kitchen are also on the third floor. The pool can be accessed from both the second and third floors. The kitchen is nice and has all of the basics you would need for your stay (including a small juicer to make fresh orange juice from local oranges!). There is an old speaker/audio system that we were able to hook up to our mp3 players and play music for the first few days but which stopped working, we're not sure why, could be the cables or the old receiver. There are lots of little areas to hang out here and there, indoor and outdoor, which is great. You can hang out as a big group together or split off and do your own thing in another corner of the house.

The villa was perfect for us. We spent a few days taking road trips to Granada, Sevilla, and going on a nearby hike. The rest of the days we spent lounging around in the house, by the pool, reading books, playing games, going on runs through the neighboring villages, and generally enjoying a really relaxing holiday. We ate at the restaurant below Bar Jovi, which was very good and highly recommended, especially the roast suckling pig! The villagers and bar/restaurant staff were really friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed visiting the local bars in Restabal and surrounding villages - the free tapas with each drink were always interesting and delicious.

All of us enjoyed our stay immensely and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa! Thanks for a great stay, John & Wendy!

Wonderfull time in restabal

This is our second time return in Restabal for the four of us; this time we had opportunity to be there for the the local fiesta that is very typic and friendly. The house is outstanding and so agreable to enjoy along with the swimming pool that is a must for the kids.

Between the Hell and the Heaven

We arrived at Casa San Jose, we went all right after the house through the narrow "streets"... a real nightmare (this is the dark side of the location, what I call the Hell side).

But went we found the car park we discovered a wonderfull house and a great swimming pool.

We used and followed all the informations left by the owners during the week it was Great.

My only regret (but not for my wife), I discovered the Jovi BAR the last day (above the restaurant), I missed to keep an eye above me.

Wonderful holiday thanks to John & Wendy's super house!

A last thing you have to be prepared for the crowing of the cock every morning but it's lovely.

Amazing house!

We've just returned from a week in Casa San Jose, and we'll most certainly return.

The house is beautiful...words are not enough to describe how wonderful it really is! The setting is amazing, in the middle of a busy little village, the house is magnificent and the pool is sublime!

The house is 5 bedroomed & if 10 people were present, al fresco dining could be a little squashed, as could indoor dining...smallish point.

That said, the house itself would make up for things such as this; the bathrooms were beautiful and the layout fun and interesting. I would have preferred newer towels & bedding, but all was clean so therefore a minor point.

The local bar is extremely friendly and offers free tapas with all drinks. The local supermarket let us pay for our groceries the next day as we didn't have enough cash and they didn't accept cards...it's that kind of place!

The house is well placed for sightseeing, though to be honest, we needed to chill out and barely left...not much need to with the beautiful pool.

All in all a wonderful holiday thanks to John & Wendy's super house!

Perfection and relaxation !

The house in Restabal is perfect in every way. The pictures do not do justice to such a wonderful property: amazing views of the surrounding hills, a private patio with fountain, multiple places to relax in the shade with a book, scrupulously clean and welcoming, extremely well-equipped. Since the house has a local manager (José), we had instant answers to any question. The nearest little shop is a few meters away and everybody in Restabal is welcoming and friendly. This is the kind of village where everybody says hello when you take an evening stroll...even the cats and dogs are friendly! The pool is large and up to 2 meters deep; the house is very spacious and comfortable - there really was nothing missing! Thank you for such a wonderful holiday.

The location of the house is ideal for a wide range of activities from days at the beach to exploration of history and culture in the majestic city of Granada with the Alhambra and Albaicin. Or you can just lounge around the pool!. On your doorstep are many typical Spanish villages all within walking distance through olive or citrus groves. The nearest beaches are on the Costa Tropical (approximately 30 minutes away), and further afield are the resorts of La Herradura and Nerja. Restabal itself boasts the warm welcome and tranquility of a genuine Spanish village, with typical bars and restaurants.
