About Marci Paddock

Marci owns and manages the property. Her sons who work construction built this home in 2009 after Marci spent 2 years going through the subdivision of the property and design process. Marci is a graduate from Brigham Young University, Provo Utah and studied landscape design. The family moved to Laie in 2000, following their 2 oldest sons who were attending BYU Hawaii. It has been a good move for our family and all our children have stayed in Hawaii so far!

Marci Paddock purchased this condo in 2002

Why Marci Paddock chose North Shore Oahu

We purchased this property because of the land. We came for our oldest sons wedding and saw a big house (very run down at the time) with lots of land and great potential. That was all we needed to push us over the ocean to Hawaii.

What makes this condo unique

Right across the street is a beautiful sandy beach with a small camping area surrounded by tall ironwood trees. We loved to camp in the mountains in California, so having a camping place right across the street with a beautiful beach was perfect! The meadow next to our property is covered with grass and the property management company keeps it mowed, so we just use it as extension of our land. The children can runs and play out there and when it rains a lot we have lake front property. The kids can drive their motor boats in the pond and throw rocks to make big splashes. It is a great place to throw the baseball around also. We have since moved to Laie Point, so all the things we love about that property are there for you to enjoy!

Great location, comfortable amenities

  • 5 of 5

Great location, enjoyed the town of Laie. We walked to beach. We loved the Temple grounds and attended church on Sunday. We were a party of four: just 2 couples. Slept comfortable, used the coin-op washer/dryer for 1 load. No wifi available, but very close to shopping, polyneian cultural center, BYU-Hawaii, and right across the street from beach. Busy traffic street and shared duplex on pillars. Good view.

Great for a family trip

  • 4 of 5

Great location and accommodation for a family. Right across from local beach with nice waves for boogie boarding/body surfing. Lovely walking/bike path. . .we walked up the path and down the beach to the apt. Cool breezes at night made sleeping a pleasure!

Ok except for constant road noise

  • 2 of 5

Positives: house was clean. Conveniently across from Hukilau Beach for pretty sunrise. Close to grocery store, PCC. Hosts were very kind and mentioned A/C is a project they are considering.

Negative: Road noise hard to avoid because windows had to remain open for any air circulation. I should have researched more closely about no A/C(my fault--silly Texan). Also towels smelled like mildew. Bunk beds not well spaced for taller people.

Owner's Response: So sorry to hear about the towels. I'll make sure the laundry lady double checks them in the future to make sure they are completely dry. Thank you for the heads up!

Very clean, close to the beach

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here! It was very clean. It was the perfect size for my husband, myself and our teenage daughter. It had everything we needed. Even had beach towels and a body board that my daughter thought was so fun. It is in a smaller town which was just what we were looking for. There is no air conditioning which was the case with most places we went but there are fans that help to cool the place off. We loved sitting out on the balcony looking at the ocean. It was very cozy and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. We loved the town of Laie. It was close to everything we wanted to do. The beach right across the street was so nice. It wasn't as crowded as some of the other beaches we went to. PCC was just down the street and we loved that. We would come back to Laie just to go to the PCC. The Laie LDS Temple is just down the road and is so beautiful. We loved everything about our stay and can't wait to go back.

Great beach house across from the ocean

  • 5 of 5

Great beach house across the street from the ocean. We were able to see the ocean from the front porch. Only had to walk over one house and cross the street to the parking lot for the beach area. House is very clean and comfortable. Owner is very pleasant and no trouble with the deposit after we were done or anything like that. It was a pleasure to stay there and look forward to staying there in the future. About four minutes to the north there's a little town with the seven Brothers outside restaurant And a snowcone shack called Wilis that is excellent. Don't forget to make it a part of your trip.

Perfect place for us

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect for our first ever Hawaiian vacation. Hukilau Beach is just across the street and was never crowded. The condo was just the right size for our family of six and really felt like a home away from home.
