A second story building to take advantage of the ocean view, there is a covered porch along the front of the building where you can sit out and enjoy the cool ocean breeze, and a lovely display of stars at night. Each bedroom has a queen bed and the larger room has a set of bunk beds as well. Complete with free WIFI and cable TV. This condo was built in 2009 and has beautiful hardwood floors in the bedrooms, tile in the living space and a bathtub with marble shower surround. The large yard connects to an open meadow with a walking path that you can take all the way to Kahuku. It's a great way to begin your day. 5 graceful coconut trees line the property, and 2 papaya trees are getting their first crop this year. Parking in the driveway for your car.

About Marci Paddock
Marci owns and manages the property. Her sons who work construction built this home in 2009 after Marci spent 2 years going through the subdivision of the property and design process. Marci is a graduate from Brigham Young University, Provo Utah and studied landscape design. The family moved to Laie in 2000, following their 2 oldest sons who were attending BYU Hawaii. It has been a good move for our family and all our children have stayed in Hawaii so far!

Why Marci Paddock chose Laie
We purchased this property because of the land. We came for our oldest sons wedding and saw a big house (very run down at the time) with lots of land and great potential. That was all we needed to push us over the ocean to Hawaii.
What makes this Condo unique
Right across the street is a beautiful sandy beach with a small camping area surrounded by tall ironwood trees. We loved to camp in the mountains in California, so having a camping place right across the street with a beautiful beach was perfect! The meadow next to our property is covered with grass and the property management company keeps it mowed, so we just use it as extension of our land. The children can runs and play out there and when it rains a lot we have lake front property. The kids can drive their motor boats in the pond and throw rocks to make big splashes. It is a great place to throw the baseball around also. We have since moved to Laie Point, so all the things we love about that property are there for you to enjoy!

Great Place on the North Shore
This was exactly as advertised. The location is great for staying on the North Shore. Very convenient. The beach across the street was as nice as the more popular ones and a lot less crowded. We had 2 adults and 4 children between 5-14. It was small, but big enough for us to sleep, eat breakfast, and shower. We were playing the rest of the time. One nice thing would be air conditioning. You had to sleep with the windows open to keep cool. The curtain in the front bedroom needs to be darker and heavier for a little more privacy. The breeze and fans would blow it open. The owners gave great instructions and welcomed us with chocolates. They also had several body boards to use for the kids. Nothing fancy, but it was an awesome home base for our trip. I would definitely stay there again.

Just across the street from a quiet beach. The apartment was comfortable and clean. This is a return trip to this apartment for us. We love it!

Great location right across road from Beach. Easy instructions on entering property. Perfect landing place to tour the whole Island.
Noise and Bugs
We stayed in apartment B, which is nice inside but very loud with traffic and the TV in apartment A, which came on at 5 am each day. ( The apartment A TV is apparently mounted on adjoining wall of the front bedroom of apartment B ).
We were unable to use the front bedroom so all 3 of us had to use the back bedroom ( not much privacy ) for 8 of the 10 day stay.
The apartment was hot with no AC, and we saw cockroaches and lots of small black bugs inside.
We messaged the owner on the second day about the TV but got no response. Finally met her and her husband the second to last day and made them aware of issues but they seemed unconcerned and offered no compensation or apology for bugs or lack of communication.
We would not recommend staying at this property. The owners seem far more interested in collecting rents than in making sure you enjoy your stay at their property.
ps Anyone planning on doing any reading would need a headlamp - there are no lamps or reading lights in the apartment.
The picture of the beach in the listing does not show that the house is directly on the very busy Kamehameha Hwy - tons of loud traffic noise.
Unfortunately, David sent his emails to an address that I do not have. I check my emails several times each day. When I did speak to David he told me that they had seen one roach in the several days they had been there. I told him I have a Terminix policy and would schedule an appointment to have the unit treated inside and out. There was no mention any little black bugs.
Both bedrooms have ceiling fans with lights, so there is plenty of lighting in the room for reading.
This is the first complaint we have had about the neighboring unit TV in several years. We strive to do everything we can to make our guests feel comfortable and enjoy their Hawaii vacation.
Right across the street from Beautiful Hukilau Beach, and next to a large open meadow, this property is one side of a duplex with a spectacular view of Hukilau Beach and one of the small islands about 1/4 mile off shore. Hukilau Beach is a long sandy beach, perfect for jogging, swimming, kite surfing, boogie boarding, snorkeling, or just basking in the sun! The Polynesian Cultural Center is just one mile south and is a full day and evening of fun, food, and entertainment learning about the various isles of the pacific and their cultures. Activities include canoe rides through the park as well. Gunstock Ranch is just 1 mile north and offers horse back riding, hiking, and nature walks. Hike to Laie Falls behind the LDS Temple, or walk across the reef to Goat Island. Giovani's Shrimp Truck is 5 miles North and serves up a great plate of Garlic Shrimp and rice under a large open pavillion in Kahuku. Other Truck Restaurants have gathered in the same location lately to offer up a nice selection of food from around the world. Golf at the ocean front Kahuku Golf course, or drive another mile north to the world famous Turtle Bay Resort Golf course.
