An oasis of gardens, lovely accommodation, and art.
This property enriched our time together. The house was lovely with warm colours everywhere as well as brightness and beautiful art pieces in all of the rooms. The garden was beautiful and diverse. We’d come again!
Beautiful and artistic garden cottage
Lovely home surrounded by beautiful gardens and ponds. Becky was a wonderful host.
Wonderful spring break get away!
We chose to rent Foxglove Cottage because of the rave reviews and unique ambiance of the cottage, and reality did not disappoint! We arrived at about 4:00 and was met by the owner for a quick house tour. Our kids (ages 8 and 9) loved their bedroom, and playing games in the living room by the cozy fire. They also adored taking baths in the stand alone tub (have they ever been so clean?!). The cottage is so unique and fun, it was a great place to come "home" to after a day of exploring. We'd love to come back when the extensive gardens are in full bloom!
LOVELY FROM START TO FINISH
The minute we walked in the door, we knew we had picked a wonderful place for our after-Christmas getaway. Becky greeted us with a warm and informative welcome. She had a fire started in the gas stove upon our arrival so our introduction to the living room was a wonderful surprise. After our long drive and ferry ride, the warmth and ambience was so appreciated. Foxglove Cottage is so lovely and unique. Becky's art, the architecture of the cottage and the attention to detail are wonderful. The cottage is warm and cozy, the bed is comfortable and we had everything we needed to make our stay pleasant, enjoyable and easy. Throughout our stay, we discovered new and interesting things to admire inside and out; the carpets, the upholstery, the original artwork, the arched windows, the furniture, the pottery, the birds' nests, the stone sink, the nice selection of reading material, the "tree-house" bedroom with skylight, the beautiful crabapple tree outside the dining room, the exposed beams and rock walls and even a short visit from Lulu, their new golden retriever puppy. Because it was very rainy, we were not able to enjoy the grounds as much as we might have had it been drier but still, the vistas out the windows were kind of magical in the mist and the rain. I guess you can tell we loved Foxglove Cottage and we would return in a heartbeat.
The “cottage” is full of great spaces, a lot of light.
The house is full of beautiful rich, warm colors; the pillows, upholstery, the blanket and all the art on the walls. Magical. Even with two tween boys along, this house has wonderful private spaces where you can have peace and quiet, a lovely bath, or just listen to the wind and rain. The moon shone through the skylight in our bedroom.
Just as good as the pictures.
Definitely a charming and artistic cottage, one of a kind. We would stay again. Only concern for some may be that neither bedroom has an attached bath. Gardens were a pleasant treat.
