Yes, that picture of the courtyard and ocean was taken from our lanai. What a spectacular view of the fountains and ocean from our building one, 4th floor location! Kama'ole sands is an 'upscale' property that has been voted 'best condominium on Maui' by the travel industry several times, and the Kihei / Wailea location can't be beat!

Once you visit this beautiful complex you'll see why we emphasize our wonderful building one location. Close to everything in the complex, but far enough away to not hear the beach traffic. Enjoy the wonderful garden, fountains and partial ocean view from your private large lanai (see photo #1). Our custom condo is a spacious two bedroom, two bathroom unit which has been remodeled with granite counter tops, new cabinets and a tropical theme. The concrete construction allows for a very quiet experience.

A beautiful queen size sofa bed in the living room, a queen in the bedroom near the entrance and a king in the loft which also has it's own bathroom.

Enjoy the 'aloha spirit' with Hawaiian videos, books and music. Also included are many videos suited for a variety of tastes. Free local phone calls and a daily paper. Completely furnished from beach towels, to coffee cups!

Again, our building one location is on the fourth floor close to the elevator but far enough away to not hear it. Our parking spot is right near the elevator, many are not. Kama'ole Sands is a lush, 15 acre property that truly represents the aloha spirit. The pool area was renovated and the decking was replaced with beautiful flagstone. You will find two jet spas, a large pool and a children's wading pool. There is also a workout/exercise facility in the pool area.

Kama'ole Sands is a wonderful place to play tennis as there are four regulation tennis courts. Just steps from our building is an updated barbecue area with three gas grills. There is an on site center to book activities and 24 hour security. Kama'ole Sands is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants and a three minute drive to upscale shopping. Several world class golf courses are minutes away. This is truly one of the finest properties in one of the finest locations on maui. About Larry Camp

I am assisting the owners with the booking and guest interaction related to this condo and owned my own Kama'ole Sands building one unit for many years. My friends have owned this building one condo since it was built in 1983. Their family owned the land for many years, (see below).

A message from the owners: E Komo Mai to our condo. We hope you enjoy your stay here. This condo is very special to us because before Kama’ole

Sands was developed in the 80’s we lived here. The very site of this building is where our home stood. It is the perfect

location for the trade winds so if you leave the front door and the lanai door open, you should feel the nice breeze.

Before the resort stood here, we farmed this 15 acre property with over 20 different varieties of Mango Trees. It was

hard work but we also managed to make time to play in the ocean across the street everyday.

What makes this condo unique

Kama'ole Sands can really be a one stop vacation spot. There are four regulation tennis courts, a beautiful pool area which not only has a wonderful large pool, but a children's pool and two jacuzzi style hot tubs. Each building has access to beautiful barbecue areas which are maintained and updated as needed. Updated barbecues and barbecue areas. There's on site tourist information, free adult computer use in the administration building, 24 hour security and even a nice work out facility near the pool. You'll see why guests return year after year.

Terrific Vacation Rental

Great location, condo is well maintained. After flying all night & arrived into Maui at 9:00AM, upon checking with Mr. Larry Camp, my family was able to check in before noon, which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely stay in this condo again if available.

Great proximity to an amazing beach! A beautiful Lana’i to watch the sun set and enjoy the sun

Just OK - not fantastic

For the most part we enjoyed our stay. Had excellent communication with the management team. Unit was clean. Large lanai with really nice ocean view. Unit was well stocked with staple items. Had 2 really nice beach chairs and 2 not so nice but functional. 2 really nice beach mats and umbrellas - a nice boogie board - 1 cooler ( too large to take to the beach when it was filled up - we used it in the unit as a beer and mix fridge ). Kitchen was functional, but not high quality when talking about pots and pans and dishes and drinkware. One thing we found strange it that we did not find any place mats for the dining room table or the lanai table.

Counter space for toiletries was non existent in the main level bathroom, stuff had to put on the bedroom dresser.

There were two things that detracted from our stay - the heat in the loft and the noise from the fountains when sitting on the lanai. Other reviews have commented on the heat and it's true. Yes you can open the front door and the lanai door and get a nice breeze through the unit, but it does not go upstairs and the ceiling fan and floor fan are not enough to cool it down. And this is without a doubt one of the closer units to the 3 fountains at the front of the property. They all start at different times, but all 3 run from 2 - 9pm and if you are sitting on your lanai, it's loud, so you talk a little louder or turn the music up a little louder, but you really don't want it to affect your neighbours, but it does. We had the same issue in one of the units in Bldg 10 but thought we would give this a chance - wrong - still loud.

So would we stay here again or recommend it to others - I'm sorry, but I would not. However the other 3 were less critical and probably would.

The unit does have a large lanai with a really nice ocean view, the loft can get warm at times and the fountains can be a bit noisy. (I will say that we've had more positive than negative fountain comments over the years.) We will continue to do our best to make each guests stay as pleasant as possible.

Great Place to Stay

First of all the manager was very responsive and helpful. The location is excellent, about 300 m from the beach where we spent almost every sunset. The unit was clean and well laid out. It has A/C but after the first 2 days we never used it again preferring open windows and ceiling fans to air conditioning. It had everything one needs for the beach IE umbrellas and beach chairs etc. The condo property is well maintained as is the unit itself. We would definitely stay here again.

Great VRBO. You can't go wrong with this rental!

We were there Oct 8-19 and I wish I was still there! The condo is in a great location in Kihei right across the street from Kamaole Beach 3 (Kam 3). The beds and couches/chairs are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to make your stay great (check out what is there before you go shopping. Note to coffee lovers, there is no coffee grinder). Yes, the loft area was a bit warm but there are several fans in the unit that help to cool it down...the swamp cooler doesn't help much.

Working with Property Manager Larry was easy and he was quick to respond to any questions or needs we had. As was Carol. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful location!

The location of the condo unit was great. Perfect building & perfect floor. The lanai offers a beautiful view of the complex grounds & of the ocean. Right across the street from a great beach w constant sea turtle sightings. The unit is warm, w just a swamp cooler to cool unit. The nights were a little uncomfortable. We will likely return to this complex & will try to rent the same unit.

Kamaole Sands is located on Maui's sunny south shore with local favorite Kamaole Beach III directly across the street. This is one of the best locations on Maui for watching the sun set. Three minute drive south takes you to wonderful beaches such as Keawakapu, Ulua and Wailea. Additionally, the Shops at Wailea allow for some nice shopping and eateries with many stores local to Hawaii and several from the mainland.

No refunds within 90 days of arrival unless we are able to rent the unit. The difference between actual funds received and amount you paid will be refunded, less a $300.00 service fee. There will be no refunds for cancellations of less than 21 days or for no-shows. Hawaii is a long way to travel for most visitors. Because of this, TRIP INSURANCE IS ADVISED.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
