About the property

2 Bedroom, 1bathroom Right In Town With Beautiful View Of Lake Huron.

Bring the bikes to enjoy Rogers City's 10 mile paved bike path that runs from our driveway, along Lake Hurons coastline, all the way out to the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse county park. Just a few miles west of town you will find Lower Michigan's largest natural waterfalls, Ocqueoc Falls. This spot should not be missed. It has recently been turned into a

very nice state park with built in charcoal grills and picnic tables.

About Mike and Michelle McLean

Although not from Rogers City myself, my dad was born and raised here. As a child we would come up to 'Rogers' for the Nautical Festival week. During these trips is when I fell in love with this wonderful place. In 2004 I met Michelle (the love of my life), who was also a single parent, and soon after we blended our two families together. We then began our own tradition of coming up for the Festival week. During that first trip she also fell in love with Rogers City, as did her two girls.

In 2011 we were able to fulfill our dream of owning our own place here when we bought 'The Deck House' (also available to rent),which is just a block directly around the corner from our rental cottage. We now try to get up to Rogers, which is just a quick 4 hours drive from our home in Hastings Mi, every other weekend.

Mike and Michelle McLean purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Mike and Michelle McLean chose Northeast

We purchased this cute little cottage in 2013 mainly because of its amazing location and view! A new roof, new vinyl sidding, carpet and fresh paint throughout are some of the recent projects to help our baby seem a little cozier.

What a view!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to the Huron View Cottage and again, it did not disappoint! This cottage has everything you will need to make your stay one to remember. The kitchen is well stocked as is the bathroom. Bedrooms are comfy and living room is very relaxing. Large deck on front that you can watch the sun rise over Lake Huron. Watching the freighters from the deck is a relaxing way to spend the evening. Bike trail is directly across from the cottage for riding bikes or walking. The town of Rogers City is very laid back but yet has many unique shops, restaurants, and a couple great butcher shops and bakeries. Some of the friendliest people you will meet live in Rogers City. I feel like we are treated to the best of a laid back town but many activities are available if you choose. Owners are very accommodating for any request or concerns you might have.

Picturesque view, great place to stay with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful place that includes everything you can think of. They even have beach chairs, beach towels, and a cooler in case you forget yours. The house is located what in my opinion could be the most beautiful corner in Rogers City. The owners are great and we will definitely be back soon.

Perfect Perfect Perfect

  • 5 of 5

When they say beautiful Lake Huron view...they are not kidding....you can hear the water lapping on the shore and there was a storm too when we were there...it was perfect...we watched boats go by at night and sat on the front deck, we did want to put a blanket over the street light but instead headed down to the shore, right across the quiet street....we sat out front in the morning with our coffee and waved at the people driving by and talked to the walkers...Good Morning...The place was clean and fresh and had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay...I did open the front windows to let in the fresh air, and when I went to close one it broke...I let the owner know right away and they were so nice about it...I felt so bad...I tried to take care of their place so hard things kept happening though....I spilled coffee on a blanket one morning...but that is it...Our stay was short and I would use this rental again and I highly recommend it to everyone....easy in easy out and if you have any issues the owners are very helpful...but remember this Plath's closes at 5pm so go early...and if you don't go to Rygrelski's at the other end of 1st Street..We loved our stay.

We rented this cottage as a for Labor Day Weekend & enjoyed every minute. This little cottage has an amazing view & was perfect for our small group. While small, it was very clean and well stocked with everything you need to enjoy your stay. I would definitely stay again!

The cottage with a view!

  • 4 of 5

A cottage with a VIEW that is amazing! You can enjoy the sound of Lake Huron from the front porch of this quaint cottage with vintage touches, and breath taking sunrises each morning. Cottage is homey and smells clean, with window air conditioning to cool on warm summer days/nights. Screened windows and storm doors allow for cool cross breezes to be enjoyed. Kitchen is stocked with cookware, dishes, refrigerator, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and basic paper products ( trash bags, coffee filters, paper towel, etc ) Beds and bedding were comfortable with additional blankets and pillows provided for added comfort. This cottage has a vacuum for quick clean up, this was handy with 2 small children. There is a laundry mat 2-3 blocks from cottage with total cost per load of $3.00 if needed. The sunrise huron trail is directly a crossed from cottage with paved biking/walking surface and easy access to sandy beach areas. There are several state parks with lovely beaches to enjoy as well as off road access for those who enjoy adventures in nature ( state tags are needed to access trails in off road vehicles) Down town Rogers city has many lovely shops with unique, well priced items. The Painted Lady Cafe is a must if you have little children who enjoy Melissa and Doug toys ( the biggest selection i've ever seen!) If you're in the mood for pizza The Lighthouse restaurant has very good pizza. Plath's is a must for meat lovers, with a wide selection of smoked meats. And the Tradewinds bakery is a must for donut lovers! Roger's city is a friendly, welcoming city that offers a quiet laid back atmosphere that leaves you rested and refreshed! There were only 2 slight draw backs to this cottage:There is no WiFi at this cottage and we had to escort several large spiders and beetles off the premises.

Owner's Response: Hi Angela, Thank you for your review. We are very sorry you had to deal with the spiders and beetles. We wish you would have reached out to us so we could have had the opportunity to correct this problem. We strive to have all of our guests have the very best and memorable vacation stay with us. The one problem with being so close to the lake can be insects. We will be seeking professional help with this nuisance immediately. At this time we do not offer wi-fi but it is something we are strongly considering in the very near future. We certainly hope you will stay with us during your next visit to Rogers City as any insect problem will be resolved. Sincerely, Mike and Michelle Huron View Cottage
