The most wonderful stay we could have asked for

  • 5 of 5

I stayed with 7 friends for two nights on Jessica's family island, and from start to finish our stay was absolutely amazing. The island is beautiful and the rooms are rustic but's hot during the day, but the air conditioners in the rooms are gold to have at night. Mane and Caridad, the couple who live on the island, were WONDERFUL- Mane helped us organize anything we wanted to do from getting massages to snorkeling, and Caridad's cooking was seriously amazing...her barbecued catch of the day was truly one of the best meals I've ever had. On top of everything, the owner Jessica was incredibly helpful, helping us with grocery shopping and even going so far as to drive two members of our group to the airport when were running a bit late.

A few things we learned from our stay: Don't stress about logistics; once you get there, everything will make sense. Be prepared to bring everything yourself, down to toilet paper, soap, spices for cooking, etc...however, don't let that be a deterrent to making the trip. Know some basic Spanish, as Mane and Caridad on the island are Spanish-speaking only (but were nice enough to help us as we stumbled through communicating with them in our broken gringo-Spanish). Bring lots of sunscreen, lots of bug spray, and some water toys (we brought inter tubes to float around in the lagoon in, and they were awesome to have). And be prepared to turn your phone off and totally disconnect from everything- there's spotty cell service if you need it, but no WiFi here. :)

In short, our group is still talking about how this was the best part of our stay in Colombia. I don't think any of us had done something quite like it, and we'd all recommend it to anyone interested in total relaxation in a beautiful, unique place with friendly people. :)

This place was amazing. Very nice people in the islands. Owner was great at helping us get all we needed before our trip. Would go there anytime. More people should visit as this is one of the best kept secrets.

Wonderful Retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect vacation location if you are looking for an authentic experience in the Colombian Coast. The Island is perfectly secluded for a relaxing vacation. A ton of activities to enjoy (hiking, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, etc.) or just relax on the beautiful deck and enjoy the views and Island air. The staff and hosts are extremely friendly. They will do everything in their power to make your stay more enjoyable.

UNBELIEVABLE -- Must come here!

  • 5 of 5

5 girlfriends and I planned a trip to Cartagena and wanted to ensure we had enough time in the old city and a couple nights of relaxing beach time on Islas de Rosario. We found Jessica's property and spent two nights in this incredible paradise. The pictures don't do this justice! The property has several cabañas/rooms and is great for a large group. Most of the rooms have AC and we were perfectly comfortable.

Jessica helped us arrange a boat and food for the island. It felt like an all inclusive vacation! The house is located right on the water and we spent most of our time lounging in the front part of the property [the main house image]. There was a cook on the island that prepared our meals and we ate them in the delightful main area of the property.

I'd recommend this property to anyone and highly suggest you request that the cook prepare food for you [additional cost but so worth it- there is nothing else on the island]. The boatman took us snorkeling near by, we were able to see some of the other islands, as well as just enjoy time on the boat.

I've already booked my next trip!

Check in to check out! This island escape is the perfect place to unwind. We enjoyed the facility, the setting and the service. There was a central building that sits over the crystal clear blue water, a dining buildings where we all gathered for breaking bread and laughter, and a series of thatched hut bedrooms. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again and again.
