Ask a questionAbout Cheryl and David Patten
We are natives of Massachusetts and New York - sports team allegiance not withstanding- and lived for nearly 30 years in the D.C. metro region. We chose to move to Marblehead to enjoy all that this lovely town has to offer. It is our pleasure to welcome guests visiting the area.
Why Cheryl and David Patten chose Marblehead
Our house was originally constructed in 1763 to serve as the home and shop for a well know cabinet maker in his day. Later, in 1795, the home was purchased by a sea captain who provided for his family during the heyday of Marblehead's cod fishing industry. We purchased the home with the intent to maintain this piece of American history and to share it with visitors to the area. We embarked on a series of renovations, starting with the apartment, and continue to make improvements to the home so that it continues to shine for another 250+ years.
What makes this Apartment unique
The apartment is a few short steps up from the street and is a fully private unit. We reside in rest of the house above and are on hand to answer any questions. It has been completely updated and features all the modern amenities to make your stay comfortable while retaining the distinctive charm of its colonial roots. From our location, you can walk everywhere in Marblehead and we are a short drive to Salem, Rockport and Gloucester. Boston is accessible via car, commuter train, seasonal ferry (Salem) or Metro (Revere).
