About David Cooper
Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my listing! I am a career military officer originally from Austin, Texas finishing my last few years of military service in the DC area. I hope you enjoy your time visiting our nation's capital, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know!
David Cooper purchased this Townhome in 2012
Why David Cooper chose Eastern Market
Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!
What makes this Townhome unique

Very close to Capitol Hill in all the sites. Very clean and nice!
This was a great place to stay especially with multiple people for the price. It would have cost double to get two hotel rooms in Washington DC for the price we paid for this. The only Improvement would be to put TV in the bedrooms but we definitely live without them. Thank you David it was very nice.
This two-bedroom two-bath apartment is ideally located close to the Capitol for Washington DC travel
Stayed 5 nights w my brother who'd never been to D.C. Pros: 1. Soft beds, hot showers, and privacy for each traveler; 2. Less than two blocks to Eastern Market metro station and Circulator Bus stop right in front of building; 3. Many good restaurants, Starbucks, and services (Trader Joes / CVS)within close walking distance; 4. Four block walk to Capitol, SCOTUS, and Library of Congress. Cons: not many, but two important to me: 1. The apartment directly above you has wooden floors and there is no ceiling insulation, so you will hear your neighbor's every step (bring ear plugs if sensitive sleeper); 2. The kitchen has only very basic spices (salt n pepper); so if you plan on doing a lot of cooking, bring some spices with you. Overall, was as advertised and promised. Good communication w owner. My own special hints: 1. If coming from BWI, take the MARC or Amtrak train to New Carrollton station ($6 adult / $3 Senior for MARC, $16 for Amtrak), then take Metro to Eastern Marjet station (place is two blocks NW of Station; get morning breakfasts at Sizzling Express (located 1 1/2 blocks southeast). They have a large buffet and charge $6.49 per pound. I had a satisfying breakast each day for about $5.00; 3. Finally, go up into the Old Clock Tower at Old Post Office building (entrance on side of building near Starbucks). NO LINES, no charge, and best view of Washington DC since Washington Monument closed until 2019.
Loved the location and the shops. The House was so nice.
Loved seeing Cherry Blossoms and seeing the parade. Weather was perfect.
Location, Location, Location
This is the best location in DC. The house is beautiful and the accommodations are top notch. Book now, you will not be disappointed!
Great place in a great location
This apartment was so well situated to everything you might want to see or do. The apartment itself was well appointed, clean and nicely maintained. There were not any surprises or issues. The smaller bedroom bed could use a little improvement as the mattress was not even and my daughter had to sleep on one side of the bed. It was if there were two separate matresses pushed together but it was only a queen so idk size wise how that would be possible.
The owner of the apartment was responsive and helpful. A new rule in DC-
If you don’t have DC plates on your car you cannot park at the apartment. This was not a problem for us but it is an issue if you are renting a car or driving from elsewhere.
I would highly recommend staying here. We plan on booking it again next time we are in DC.
Fantastic property close to Capitol
Brought my family of five, three teenage boys, to D.C. For first time. This is a perfect condo for its location adjacent to local restaurants, coffee shops ( 3 in the immediate vicinity) and close walking distance to the Capitol. The unit offers convenient key-free entry and recently-renovated everything. My only thought I's is not in the center of town. Is coming again, would be closer to the better restaurants on the north side of the Mall , more centrally located. Other than that, a great place to spend a few days visiting D.C.
