Simple But Modern Conveniences At A Reasonable Price
The cabin was finished being built the summer of 2014. This simple but modern cabin has all the conveniences of home. It offers a queen bed with a full size trundle that slides nicely under the queen for additional space when not in use. The kitchenette offers a fridge, electric cook top, microwave, coffee pot, cooking utensils, and dishes. All linens will be provided. There is a BBQ and table on the deck for those that wish to prepare meals. With 2 local grocery stores, all meals are possible!
For those that prefer to eat out, Custer provides several great choices. #1 rated burger in the US, to small café’s and bakeries. The location also provides great access to several of the black hills top attractions to include Mt. Rushmore, Custer state park, Wind Cave national park, Jewel Cave National Park, Crazy Horse Memorial, and historic Deadwood. When your day is finished you will definitely enjoy relaxing on the deck in peace and quiet and looking at the stars.

Why Sue chose Custer
This cabin is far enough out of town to see the beautiful stars, and enjoy the peace and quiet. But close enough to make a quick trip if you forgot that last minute item.
What makes this Cabin unique
Right now, this is the only cabin we have on the property. So you will be able to enjoy it without any neighbors!

Great location with privacy
Cute, cozy cabin just outside of the town of Custer was the perfect spot as a base to explore the area. Everything we needed from groceries to laundromat was handy. It was blissfully quiet We were able to prepare meals here, but keep the menu simple. The kitchen area is small and best for breakfast, lunch and very easy dinners. There is a propane grill on the deck just outside the door.
Sue was so nice, but not so much the comfort of the cabin
Sue was so nice and so accommodating. She let my husband take hot baths in the main house as he recently had surgery. We were so grateful! Unfortunately, the comfort of the cabin down rates the experience. The bed was very uncomfortable, only a futon type bed with about a 3 or 4 inch pad on top of a wood slate frame. We were so glad we brought our own air mattress (thought we would just in case! ) there was no real storage area for putting clothes away or food away. Only about 2 drawers of space in kitchen. There was a long counter, so we stored everything on the counters. The stove top, outside grill, toaster, microwave, etc, were all VERY low quality, so cooking basic food was a challenge at times. Some hooks around and even a small dresser and a kitchen cabinet would have been great! The cabin, for being so small from the outside, has allot of room inside, so plenty of space for these types of improvements. If you are only going to stay a couple days, probably fine, but perhaps not 9 days like we did! There was only 1 cushioned chair besides the bed, so relaxing inside the cabin, unless always being on the bed, isn't an option on a rainy day, or watching tv. Also the cabin is on a very busy road, so alot of traffic noise. We are sad to not give a better rating, as sue was so nice, but felt those coming after us should be aware in case they wanted more comfort. It is a really nice basic cabin for the price, and the owners are very kind and helpful, and it just depends what you are looking for.
Nice cabin has everything you would need. They were so kind to us which made our stay even better. Quiet and clean and so close to activities.
It was a pleasure having you. So sorry you had to cut your trip short.
Sue & Rory
Thoroughly enjoyed the quaint little cabin, very clean, great location for seeing all the sights and owner Sue is such a sweet lady. Perfect for two adults. Thank you.
Loved having you. You guys were so fun - and funny. Next time a helicopter ride.
It's Bigger on the Inside!
Adorable "shed" is actually a very nice, comfortable cottage with a normal sized bathroom, great shower, and little kitchenette. Sue was a pleasure to deal with and we were so happy she was able to let us extend our stay!
Thank you Sue for the wonderful stay at your cute little cabin. We were packed in tight as we had 2 adults /2kids but we loved it! We were really only there to sleep and have breakfast bc the sights are awesome!
I'm so glad you had a good time.
Custer is the heart of the Black Hills. It offers off road adventures, hiking, numerous caves to be explored, great scenic photo opportunities, and wildlife everywhere you turn.
