This is a very special and surprising property!
You should rent this home if you want a gorgeous and peaceful setting to be outside! The property is very private and the home is spacious and easy to navigate. We loved exploring the area and relaxing at this comfortable home. The really special part is the outdoors! Thank you to the owners!
Friends Forever 3 nights - Sept 5 - 6 - 7 Rainy Weather but a wonderful time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the lake cottage. 3 couples were there all three nights with another couple joining us for activities during 2 days.
The area is spacious, with bedrroms roomy and bathroom close by. We liked the high dining table as we had many card games going. The smaller kitchen area table was right size to work a 500 piece jig-saw. Family room was super to just sit and chat together. One couple was unable to join us but this group has met together over 20 years each fall.
We enjoyed breakfast together - ( bkft casserole was enjoyed 2 days) and we brought snacks we might need and share. We joined together the Tues noon for lunch in Trav City and then out to the cottage. Each eve we found a place to eat nearby. Since the rain prevailed off and on each day, we chose to have a campfire during sunshine on Thursday afternoon. We loved the campfire ring, the beach front work - it's gorgeous. The sitting bench by the 3 birch trees made a good place to take pictures. Those who needed an aft nap could sneak that in too. Time went so fast. We finally learned how to work the coffee pot properly too as several enjoyed sipping coffee. Beds were comfortable and we enjoyed open windows. We suggest that you put a second shower mat into the bathroom at the kitchen end. One of our ladies showered there, no mat, slipped and hit the back of her head hard. A grab bar at either end/ or both of the tub would promote safety too. She wasn't able to grab the towel bar at the end of the tub. Thankfully, she only had a bad headache that day and some shoulder muscle strains. By evening she was set to join group for activities and eve meal out. With Dave and I being the only Wisconsinites of the group, I complimented Rick and Ann for choosing bright red chairs. Yeah UW.
I wish I could place a reservation for 2018, but the group has chosen to gather closer to Alpena next year. That will be fine. We will get to the Trav City area as choose to visit Dave's sister Irma/Dick annually , and BSA retirees will gather in Cincinnatti mid 2018 to go to. Expect we'll visit T City prior to that and possibly have a West Bay gathering with Tooleys then. Thanks again for helping us. The memories are many and pictures taken are treasures. Thank so much Mary
Beautiful Home, Wonderful Experience!
We had an amazing weekend at the West Bay vacation home! We had 6 people in our party, 3 adult couples. After an afternoon of breweries and distilleries, it was refreshing to check-in to this beautiful house. The house was incredibly clean and well maintained. We spent the first evening down at the fire with beer, wine & pizza. Heaven!
The next day our wine tour picked us up right at the house after a leisurely breakfast on the deck and watching the sunrise. Wow! We couldn't wait to return to the house for naps by the water and more relaxing time before heading to Suttons Bay for a wonderful dinner. Our night was capped off once again by the fire-pit where we enjoyed a great evening of laughter and making memories.
We had plenty of hot water for showers and the linens and kitchen supplies were plenty. We had such an amazing weekend in this beautiful home and can't wait to go back. The incredible fall weather didn't hurt either!
Great family property to have fun!
Lovely secluded property on the lake.
Was a great place to say. Very roomy with a wonderful view of the water from any place in the house. Great place to stay and a beautiful property.
Great place to stay
House was really nice to stay. I only wish I would have brought swimming shoes for the water as it is too rocky for bare feet.
The property is conveniently located half way between Traverse City and Suttons Bay (about 7 miles to each) with easy access to festivals, restaurants, the tart trail, sleeping bear dunes, empire and much more. It is located on 5 acres with large lawns for sports and games, an amazing view of power island, and 400 feet of frontage.
