Location, Location, Location
This cabin could not be better. The location is perfect, it is only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg, yet it is high enough up the mountain that you do not hear the hustle and bustle of downtown Gatlinburg.
The drive up can be daunting, but what I have always found was that in order to get a great view, you need to drive up the mountain to get to it! The road was very passable, even in the rain.
The layout is perfect for one or two families. We put our 3 teenagers in the basement where they were out of our way and had their own space. The top two bedrooms were both great. Typically there is the awkward exchange when you arrive at a cabin where one couple gets the "good" room and the other is stuck with the "crumby" one. Well, both of these rooms were wonderful. There was no skirmish to decide who got which one because both were a win!
The cabin has a "cabin" feel, yet is decorated with a very modern motif. It was very light and airy.
I had to reach out to the owners while we were staying there for a very minor issue. They responded right away and took care of it! We could not have asked for better service.
We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay!! We hope you tell your friends about us and thank you!
Greystone house stay
The house is great and is well furnished, clean, and maintained, our family had a great time staying there. The road leading up from Gatllinburg was being repaired but that didn't create and problems for us. Thanks for a great time.
Beautiful views, quiet location
My family and in-laws spent several nights in the beautiful house overlooking the Smoky Mountains and downtown Gatlinburg. The house is well-kept, clean, and spacious while offering quick access to the Sugarlands entrance to Smoky Mountain National Park and downtown Gatlinburg. The owners were very responsive to our questions and I’m very pleased with our stay overall. A few tips for folks considering this house, or area:
—Others have commented on the steep road to the house. It is steep, but not difficult to navigate. Construction crews were putting up guardrails in the most treacherous spots in March 2019. Don’t let this stop you. Drive slow and safe!
—The kitchen is well equipped. We ate all breakfasts and dinners at the house, but salt, pepper, and spices aren’t stocked. This is pretty typical. A grocery store, Food City, isn’t too far away, but does require a trip through a small portion of downtown Gatlinburg, where traffic can build up. In all, no big deal.
—The entrance to the national park is a short drive away, which for us was a huge plus. If you’re visiting to see the park, it’s a great spot. If downtown Gatlinburg is your scene, it’s a short drive.
Enjoy your stay!
