Kathy is from Morrilton her family had property on Petit Jean as a child so they visited most every weekend. She is a University of Arkansas graduate and works for the Razorbacks currently. Lynn grew up in North Carolina and graduated from Appalachian State in Boone, NC and works in marketing and sales. We have a large family full of brothers, sisters and lots of nephews and nieces, mostly living nearby.
Lynn Edgerton purchased this chateau / country house in 2006
This home is everything we were looking for to rest, re-charge and renew our spirits. The peacefulness and serenity is what makes this place special. The views are amazing and every morning you can wake up to a new sunrise view - above the clouds, in the clouds or just see for miles. Kathy grew up coming to Petit Jean and always dreamed of having a home with a gorgeous view. Lynn is reminded of his years living in Boone and Blowing Rock, North Carolina as well.
We've lived in this home since 2006 and we love it. It's a home, not just a cabin on the mountain. The original builders thought of everything in the design - like being able to see the view through the entire house from the entrance to the sunroom. With windows on all sides of the sunroom, you can truly relax and renew 365 days a year in the gorgeous space. It is meant to be comfortable and private whether for your family, a girls getaway, a sweetheart weekend or honeymoon, this is the home for you. The million dollar view can be seen from most any room in the house - even while you enjoy your Jacuzzi bath for two. Grilling is also easy on the Jenn Air grill. The wood stove also makes it nice and warm inside while you watch the snow falling. We love being able to climb out on our large boulders in the back and just have some quiet time too.
This was the perfect retreat for a Mom/Daughter weekend in Petit Jean. The house accommodated 9 of us well and the views were just spectacular. Lynn (the owner) went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Great place to stay when doing a cooking class at the Rockefeller Institute. Would definitely recommend this house!
Very clean, very comfortable, everything you need for your stay. Photos do NOT do it justice! Beautiful!!
If you are planning on spending some time hiking Petit Jean mountain, this is a great location. The property was quiet, clean, and stocked with everything we needed. The beds were extremely comfortable, and there was enough space for everyone to enjoy the peace and quiet.
great hiking just minutes away. Only downside was the wifi was not very reliable during the stormy weather during our stay....some would call this a bonus if you're trying to get your kids to unplug!
We came with 4 adults and a 7 month old, and we had a great time! It was so nice waking up to a view and having coffee in the sunroom. We hiked during the day--totally doable with a baby on your back, and great caves and waterfalls to see. We had lunch at Mather Lodge which was also gorgeous.
Lynn was very helpful and available if we needed anything. Would definitely recommend!
We had a wonderful time there. Have stayed at many places on Petit Jean, but none as lovely and comfortable as this one.
