Better than I even had hoped for!

  • 5 of 5

I would highly recommend this beautiful little cottage to anyone who wants to explore the Southern Oregon and Northern California coastlines. My husband and I stayed here for 7 nights and used it as a home base to explore both north and south. We had an amazing time and the cottage had everything we could ever need including a one-of-a-kind view of the ocean right from the bedroom. It was simply gorgeous! The grounds were decorated so cute with birdhouses and flowers everywhere. It had a real country feel which was right up my alley. And, after spending the day hiking & exploring the many beaches and parks in the area, the hot-tub made for several relaxing evening watching the beautiful sunsets. In fact, one of our best nights was spent grilling some fresh salmon and enjoying the bottle of wine with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for dessert, both of which were courtesy of our hostess. There is so much to do and explore in the area. We spent a full day in the Redwoods which are less than an hour away, a day on a jet boat tour up the Rogue River which we both thoroughly enjoyed, a day at Oregon Sand Dunes where we took a fast & furious roller coaster ride of a sand rail tour that was SOOOO FUN, and all the rest of the time we explored beaches, parks, coastal towns, cute little shops, and ate at every little seafood joint we could find. All in all, it was an amazing trip. Thank you to our hostess for providing the perfect setting for the perfect trip.

Owner's Response: Dear Mary, I didn't know there is a zip line along the dunes. How fun! Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. I could not have described the area and the cottage and everything else as well as you and I just really appreciate that you did. Our Very Best To You 2! Patrice and Staff

Wonderful Cottage by the Ocean

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had a nice stay here this last February. Made the one mile jog to the beach each day to explore and feel the ocean breeze. Enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and reading endlessly while watching the waves. Owner was very friendly and the cottage was well equipped for a couple. Although we didn't bring our pets, it seemed very pet friendly.

Beautiful, restorative, peaceful, perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We adored our stay. I'm a bit obsessive with picking a vacation spot, and I literally looked at every available property under $150 a night on the coast from Lincoln City to Eureka. As soon as I saw the pictures of the view, I knew this was the place. I figured that even if it rained the entire time (after all, it's April in Oregon) it wouldn't matter because I could just stare at the ocean the whole time. We lucked out with the weather, but the view was so good all I wanted to do was stare at the ocean anyway! You can see the ocean from any spot in this tiny, well apppinted cottage. The kitchen is very small, but had everything we needed. There was cookie dough and a bottle of wine waiting in the fridge upon our arrival, as well as a lovely arrangement of Calla lillies cut fresh from the yard. And the bed! Oh, the bed. I haven't slept so well in months. The sound of the waves crashing into the shore didn't hurt either. We also very much enjoyed the hot tub, which is thoughtfully placed to feel private, even though distance wise it's fairly close to the other cottage on the property. There's a great binder with hikes and activities and food suggestions. And to top it all off, there was no long cleaning list to do upon checkout--after all, Patrice said, we were on vacation!

A couple (minor) cons, which barely impacted our stay and certainly wouldn't prevent us from returning: the little love seat is not comfy and feels at risk of falling apart. We sat at the table or on the bed. There isn't a sharp knife. A nice sharp chef's knife would make a heckuva difference in food prep. Finally (but this is perfectly obvious from the photos): it's quite small, especially the bathroom and shower. Perfect for two adults and a small dog, but if we'd brought our large dogs with us, it would've been crowded.

All in all though, the privacy and quiet and bed and view were all beyond amazing. I wish we could come back next weekend.

A welcoming cottage

  • 5 of 5

Five very relaxing and enjoyable days on the beautiful Oregon coast. The little yellow “Sunset” cottage greatly enhanced this wonderful experience—it was as cozy and well furnished as anticipated, with many thoughtful touches to make one feel welcome. Peaceful, quiet, clean, convenient. Only five days, but we quickly fell into a comfortable routine—hikes on the beaches, returning to our welcoming cottage, lulled to sleep in the very comfortable bed by the eternal rhythm of the pounding surf. A very restful 5 days!

Magical

  • 5 of 5

We found the sunset cottage delightful and welcoming in it's charm filled magic. The yard surrounding the cottage invites awe with it's spectacular views and whimsical decor. We were lucky enough in this stormy week to catch one awe inspiring sunset that is breathtaking in its Glory. If I could attach the pictures you could behold what words can never describe. The cabin is warm and cozy with a whimsical charm that sets one at ease upon entering. The view from the bedroom is profoundly lovely and the decor reminiscent of my own home. The bed is divinely comfortable and inviting. We found extra blankets in the cupboard with a surprise release of coconut wafting up when we opened them. Laying in bed at night we listened to the waves quietly carressi g the shore one night and the cachophony of a raging storm on another. All and all a wonderful trip. Thank u Patrice!
