About Topher Cushman
Both Deb and I grew up in Upstate New York and have lived in our neighborhood of Capitol Hill for over 10 years where we met and have started our family.
Topher Cushman purchased this Apartment in 2011
Why Topher Cushman chose Hill East
In our opinion Capitol Hill is the best located neighborhood for taking in the City and its sights. It is also an amazing community with friendly neighbors. Its a small town village in the heart of one of the world's most powerful cities.
What makes this Apartment unique
Stroll to the Market on the weekends, take a glass of wine over to the park in the evening or watch a storm come through from the front porch- you'll love where you are once you get here and look around.

First time visiting Washington, DC
The Victorian Flat apartment was the perfect place to rent for a weeks stay. It was great coming back after a long day of sight seeing. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed. We ate breakfast there every morning before walking to the National Mall or Union Station to get on the Big Bus. Some evenings we walked across the street to just sit in the park. We didn't need to call Topher but met him on our last day there. We would definitely stay there again. Thanks Topher for helping make our Washington vacation a special one.
Easy 10 minute walk to the capital or eight dollar cab ride. Upstairs neighbors can be heard, but th
Owner was easy to deal with, and he addressed any concern quickly. Only wish we had a few more days. So fun to explore DC
Perfect DC HomeBase
Extremely clean and well stocked. Quiet, safe neighborhood only a couple blocks from bus stops and a couple more to Metro. Topher was friendly, helpful and easygoing. It’s a small, basement apartment but we’re a family of four (two teens) and we cooked every breakfast and dinner here and slept like babies after long DC tours. Plenty of room for comfort and rest. We were thrilled with our stay.
Great time in DC!
Our family of three had the best time in DC! The place was perfect. It was clean and cozy, with lots of local flavor. Topher was very nice as well! Definitely recommend!
The apartment was clean and very comfortable for 2 people. The bathroom is directly off the bedroom. We loved staying in an historic neighborhood and enjoyed walking to the mall and monuments. Very good restaurants within walking distance. Easy and prompt communication with the hosts. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed in this suite for a week while touring DC. The location is perfect! We walked each day to the Capital Mall and in the evening to the Eastern Market for dinner. The parking pass was handy for friends who dropped in for a visit. The morning coffee was very appreciated. The suite was cozy and clean but could use some cosmetic work ie. peeling paint in the bathroom. Wine and Butter across the road has great sub sandwiches and deli items. Would definitely recommend.
