Wonderful place, horrible staff

The day before our trip we called Mandoki to see if our room could be ready before 4pm, and was told that it was vacant so we were going to be able to check in at lunch. When we were an hour out, I called to let the hotel know we were almost there & was told that the room still wasn't ready but we could use the amenities on site. They have restrooms & many pools to keep busy, but we weren't able to get into our room until 4:30 pm. The lady at the check in desk was very pleasant and nice. We enjoyed everything about our room, & the location of the beach & the many activities to keep busy. The day we left we overslept but while getting our stuff packed to leave our hotel phone was ringing, when I answered the fella said "are you having some kind of problem getting out" very rude. He informed me if we weren't out of the room in 20 minutes, he was going to call the police to remove us. Given checkout is at 10, & this is at 10:45. As we're gathering the remainder of our items, housekeeping comes into the room, & slams the door behind her. She gives us a dirty nasty look. I make the comment about the staff being rude, & she responds "Say whatever the F-bomb you want"... in front of my 5 & 7 year old daughters. You would think for the amount of money paid, they could hire friendly people. Who wants to go on vacation & deal with a nasty attitude? Other than staff, we enjoyed our trip!

Owner's Response: I would like to personally apologize for the series of unfortunate incidences that you experienced during your stay with us. We continually strive for excellence and try to do our very best for all of our guests, but unfortunately, sometimes we do fail. I have personally looked into each issue with the staff of both companies, in an attempt to correct and improve customer service and policies. The guest called the front desk requesting a late checkout before 10 am and was informed that they could not as another guest was checking in that afternoon. When the housekeeper entered the property after 11 am to clean for the arriving guest, she found the guests had not left. Unfortunately, an employee from a different company overheard that the guest was not leaving the property and took it upon themselves to call security. Security, who us employed by the home owners association contacted the guest without the our knowledge and informed her that she must leave the property. The guest left the condo at 11:45.
