About Lynne and Doug Godfrey

We loved the mountains and the life style it offers.

Lynne and Doug Godfrey purchased this bed and breakfast in 1979

Why Lynne and Doug Godfrey chose Banff

This is such a fabulous property for many reasons. It has that charm of a heritage home, with all the modern conveniences. It is beautiful with all kinds of interesting areas to enjoy. It is 5 minute walk from downtown Banff with hiking trails and bike rides just outside the door. Because we are a heritage home of over 100 years old, with two large staircases and a hot tub, we are not child friendly. Children have not lived in this home for over 20 years.

What makes this bed and breakfast unique

Close to downtown

Two balconies and front and back yard

Gorgeous charming home in the heart of the Canadian Rockies

Quaint, arts & crafts style home.

Doug was a great host, there to meet us on arrival and show us around. Home was warm and cosy (have to buy own firewood but there is also central heating system) and in excellent location for walking into Banff centre for shops and eating. We were 6 people in our group and there was plenty of room for us although some bedrooms quite small. Everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare meals. Would stay there again. Cheers Doug and Lynn

Spacious house, excellent for a large group

  • 4 of 5

Great location in Banff. Only a short walk to the ski bus stop and a 5 minute walk to the main street. Excellent kitchen, very well equipped which made it easy to cook in. Some of the bedrooms are quite small and tight for storage but overall our experience was very good. We were disappointed that the hot tub was out of action due to severe weather, but we were warned about this before our arrival. The owners responded very quickly to a couple of queries we had.

Great home within walking distance to the best of Banff!!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful home in Banff. Communication with the owner was A++ and very easy. This place is only a couple blocks from bars, restaurants, and shops. Plenty of room for a family or a group of friends looking to enjoy the Canadian Rockies. Plenty of room throughout the home. Next time I find myself in Banff, I hope to book this place again.

Great house in an excellent location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in late July. 2 adults and 2 adolescents. Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. You can walk to everything in downtown Banff and to a few nearby hiking trails. Short drive to other places in Banff. Lake Louise area also nearby. The house has an interesting layout and is a great space.

The only place to rent in July in Banff. Thankful

  • 2 of 5

The house was big, lots of bedrooms, great location. Mosquitos are like dragons that time of year (July) and there was a heat wave, unfortunately there was no keeping the windows open because all but 2 were without screens and we had 1 small fan. There was lot of memoribilia and furniture so you have to not be bothered by that what some would consider clutter. I would suggest that they get a coffee maker, a single press was all that was available for a large household. We had to go to the local coffee shop and buy a box. Also, it did take a month to for them to issue the return of the deposit.
