About the property

Enjoy your outdoor experience in cozy comfort. The house is situated on a wooded cove with a trail to the water. Enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature in this inspirational park setting. Fish off the dock or just sit quietly and enjoy the views and sounds of nature. The lake is just a short walk behind the Pavilion. Go swimming in the swimming area or enjoy one of our self-guided canoe tours in the scenic coves.

The house adjoins a large pavilion which is shared by other guests who rent houses from us. It is plenty spacious (~1650 sq. ft) with room for all. If you have an interest in a group event, the other houses we have are nearby can be rented too to accommodate all your guests. The other houses are VRBO #614970, #711215, and #711218. Check them out. Call and we can discuss the best arrangements for you.

The Pavilion has an open lake view, stone fireplace, outdoor kitchen, and commercial fans for your comfort. Relax by the stone fireplace while keeping tabs on the kids playing on the playfort nearby. Roast hotdogs and make smores over the fire pit under the stars. Meals are easy with the fully equipped kitchen and charcoal grills outside. Stroll through one of our native gardens and feel the whisp of butterfly wings as they flutter around your presence. We are a certified Texas Wildscape that abounds with wildflowers and inspirational gardens to sit and reflect. View the many butterflies an birds. Catch a glimpse of a roadrunner catching an insect.

For variety consider visiting one of our restaurants in the town of Whitney and do some antique shopping. Grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping is easily accessible.

This 1200 square foot house has two bedrooms with queen beds and an extra full bed and sleeper sofa in the living room area.

Waterfront, great views, trees, shade, gardens and inspirational spaces. Get away and refresh your spirit.

Nice atmosphere and beautiful surroundings but not lake front.

  • 3 of 5

We had a great time! The reason the rating wasnt higher was that the pictures made it look like it was lakefront property. Even though its close its still a 100 yard walk downhill on uneven surfaces. We had older people and handicap people which we had to take to another boat ramp by car to get them in the boat. Also, the groundskeeper seemed to hang out alot like he was constantly watching us.

Beautiful resort and very family friendly!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the Pavillion House for three nights over Labor Day. The only complaint I have is the toilet in the second bathroom is located in such a way that it is difficult for tall people! Beauty is everywhere here, wild flowers, peacocks, lake view, hummingbirds, and butterflies. We brought two ten year old girls who are now exhausted from all the fun they had. Staff is very friendly and accommodating! Love the Pavillion area, too. The dock is in great shape and perch are plentiful. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have quality family time in a rustic setting.

spacious place

  • 4 of 5

This place was great. lots of outdoor activities and an abundance of nature. The air conditioner worked very well in the house and the beds were comfortable. The Pavillion was a really great place for everyone to gather and provided a good place to cook and eat. The fans helped cool things down a few degrees and there was plenty of tables and chairs. Only a few things that prevented an excellent score. The bottom of both grills provided were rusted through and it was difficult to keep the fire hot for cooking. The fridge in the pavilion would not seal and had a hard time keeping the food cool. and lastly the trail down to the dock was quite difficult to navigate with loose rocks and roots protruding from the ground. The dock itself was excellent for fishing, but has no ladder for climbing back up if you want to take a swim.

We will rent this place again maybe in the fall or spring.

Owner's Response: Thank you for you positive feedback and suggestions for things to be better. We take suggestions seriously and are working toward a 5 rating your next visit. The grills are being replaced. The extra refrigerator in the pavilion will be moved. All the cabins have their own full refrigerators. The dock is for fishing, not swimming due to possible hooks in the area. The swimming area is in a different location which is coming back now as the flood waters have receded. We want our customers to be safe and have pleasant memories.
