About Bob Mathews

We retired, fell in love and found our paradise in Steinhatchee.

Bob Mathews purchased this condo in 2014

Why Bob Mathews chose Steinhatchee

We wanted the best location to allow us to immediately get to the Gulf and this is the only place that has immediate access without having to stay in a wake zone and have boats all around.

What makes this condo unique

Walk to the dock and board YOUR boat. No waiting in line at the public boat ramp. No long lines of boats in the wake zone-just jump in and go. A place to clean your fish or scallops, a pool to cool off after a long day in the sun and stunning sunsets to watch from the comfort of your own condo and balcony. Big enough for family and friends or perfect for two people just trying to get away from it all.

Steinhatchee bills itself as 'the gateway to Florida’s Nature Coast,' that crook in the arm of the state where panhandle becomes peninsula and white sandy beaches give way to marsh and limestone rock. In this part of Florida, there are no man-made amusements. There are no resort towns. Heck, there aren’t even any towns! I’m kidding, of course. But beginning around St. Mark’s Wildlife Refuge due south of Tallahassee, the Gulf Coast beaches disappear. The coast becomes marshy, grassy, and brimming over with wildlife. Freshwater rivers and springs make it an angler’s dream. Traveling east on I-10, turn south onto Hwy. 19, which runs down from Georgia and dead-ends at St Petersburg Beach on Florida’s west coast. Twenty-six miles south of Perry, turn right onto Highway 51 and travel another 10 miles. Notice how the landscape changes as you travel north to south. The scrub and stands of tall pine give way to spindly palms and prairies of saw palmetto. Dense fog often shrouds the small highw

5 Star Rental and best in Steinhatchee!

  • 5 of 5

The best view in Steinhatchee. The condo was well equipped, comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed this condo because of the amazing view, great dockage and proximity at mouth of the river, and a wonderful swimming pool to cool off in after a long day of scalloping. We had absolutely no issues and look forward to renting this condo next year.

Love steinhatchie!

My family makes this trip every year for scalloping. This condo is clean and well appointed. You can't beat the boat dock and ramp for proximity to the Gulf.

Wonderful location and view

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our time at Gulf Breeze condominiums. The location was perfect. The boat slips, ramp and quiet, serene property made it that much more amazing! However, our unit was in need of multiple repairs. The balcony doors, did not close well, ceiling fan on balcony was not functionable and had wires hanging from it. The kitchen was not well stocked with utensils and cookware. The patio furnishings on the balcony were pretty much not safe to sit in, as all the webbing was broken in the seats and the large table dominated the space. The balcony is the go-to place because of the view and would greatly benefit the property if it more usable. We would love to return and definitely would if these things were improved.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review. We are sad to hear some of your comments. Please tell us what you did not find in the kitchen you needed, as we have not heard this from anyone else in 3 years of ownership. This will help for the future. It was equipped from an active kitchen including many items not typically found in most rental units. Thanks Bob Mathews

Great location and views

  • 5 of 5

Love the location and the views. Condo was great! Only complaint is at check out we are asked to start the dish washer and the washing machine but there is no detergents available. Had to run to the store to buy. With that said we would rent again in a heartbeat.
