Overview

About the property

FREE PKING F CARS/TRL; SLEEPS 12; BEAUTIFUL PIER w BOAT TIE-UP.

Eagle's Landing has over 400 ft. of land area from the road (Canal Rd.) to the water's edge. The water view is 'SPECTACULAR' from our NEW spacious pier w 2 boat slips under roof. NO nails in this pier. All deck screws are 316 stainless. All deck boards have beveled edges which greatly reduces the likelihood of splintering. This pier is a custom made pier, built by a master craftsman. A new bulkhead was built in Feb. 2015. It (the bulkhead) has built in steps that go down to a 45ft. wide sandy private beach. Great for children to play there. No deep water; only a gradual sloping grade to the end of our pier which is 200 ft. from the shoreline. The water (which is brackish) is only about 4 1/2 feet deep at High Tide at the end of pier. Signs are posted that say "NO DIVING". Please heed !! No Smoking on Pier due to proximity of gasoline in water craft.

From the end of the pier to the far shore is about 3/4 mile with the U.S. Intra Coastal waterway only about a 1/4 mile out from our pier. No noise from the passing boats. A calm water cove (Cypress Cove) is to our left where the tubing, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, and sailing is GREAT. Sunsets, sunrises are picturesque. Dolphins often play near our pier and pelicans and other birds dive for the fish all day long. Cypress swings are on each end of the pier. There are a few chaise lounge chairs and a few folding chairs for your use, but you can bring a few of your own if you want to. The pier is lighted and has fresh water available with hose. BUT!! PLEASE REMOVE AND PROPERLY DISPOSE OF YOUR TRASH & FISH WASTE FROM THE PIER. See my pictures provided on this VRBO site for a good pier overview. A fire pit is available; Water, power & a SS sink are provided at the covered shed. A metal table with built in benches that seats 8 is near the shed. This area is also lighted. The light switch is on the wooden post of shed. You may clean your fish or crabs at this site; but please dispose of your waste in a bag and put it in one of the 2 blue garbage cans at the front of the property. PLEASE, DO NOT clean your catch on the pier, itself. All waste will attract WILD ANIMALS from the wooded area behind the property. For your safety, please do not leave edibles outdoors. Help us keep these critters away. Upon departure, we would ask you to place the blue garbage cans next to the street. Pick up is "twice" a week. Tuesday and Friday morning.

The accommodations are comfortable and fairly spacious. You will be staying in an updated 3 bedroom; 2 bath trailer with several additions. We added a small 'bunk room' (with a/c) in the back area. The kids love it. A covered front porch was recently added and an outdoor deck was added to the back facing the water. A charcoal grill is on this back deck. But, DO NOT remove it from the deck to use.

This back deck is wheelchair accessible. Chairs and tables are on the back deck area. A few years ago, the previous owners added an air conditioned, glassed in room to the side of the trailer. It is about 13ft. wide and over 30 ft. long. New carpet has just been installed on the glassed in porch, in the bedrooms, and living area with laminate flooring in bath and kitchen areas. A full shower was just built into the rear area bath. It has a built-in seat and 2 stainless steel hand rails. New central air and heat was installed in June of 2014 (3 1/2 ton unit ) to replace a failing smaller unit. We left a few window (supplemental) ac units in the glassed-in area, just in case you need a cool boost on a particularly hot day. There is a sleeper sofas ( Lazy Boy ) in this area. . The sleeping accommodations can handle 12 easily and a few more with blow-ups if need be. Extra large Smart TV (46') in this area & 2 other TVs on premises. Seating for eating is no problem. Three tables with chairs plus 3 bar stools will seat 14 with additional outside seating. Several appliances have been upgraded ...a glass top stove with overhead microwave & a stand alone ice maker. Keurig coffee maker and standard coffee maker in kitchen. Parking is absolutely NO problem...5 or 6 vehicles can park in the front area. There is space to park a boat trailer or 2 also. As you can see, 'We have you covered'. No charges for parking cars or boat trailers at our place.

Behavioral rules for our property, and especially the pier, are posted for your safety and included in an on site booklet (usually left in den or porch area. It is in a white vinyl book), for your review. The cleaning crew usually leaves it in an area that makes it easy to find. Just look for it.

Our little paradise is right in the middle of everything that Orange Beach has to offer. As a matter of fact, there is a great TIKI BAR (good guitar musicians are at this place in the evening) within walking distance. Look for the thatched pointed roof just across the street from 'our place'; about 100 yards down and next to the Sportsman's Marina. Also, just about the best eating establishment in Orange Beach, Shipp's Harbour Grill, is at this marina (about 300 yards away). You can walk down the sidewalk on Canal Road and skip the parking problem if you want to eat there. In the p.m. they have a LONG wait line so reservations are recommended.

To sum it up...If you like the outdoors, private sandy beach, the water, the boating, using your boat and/or wave runners, the privacy, picturesque settings, spaciousness and natural surroundings, 'THIS IS YOUR KIND OF PLACE!!'

Once you come here, you will want to come back. Just try it and see!

About Jim Cate

My wife and I have spent our entire life, living in Mobile and vacationing in the Gulf Coast Region, especially Orange Beach and Gulf Shores. We came here as kids, then teenagers, then adults, and now retired folks. This area is 'in our blood', I guess. And, of course, we love it. We previously owned a small cottage during our working years and eventually progressed to waterfront. We have good times with various relatives and friends who also live in the area. My spouse and I now own 2 places that we rent through VRBO. Our 3/3 condo at Phoenix on the Bay is only 1/4 mile from Eagle's Landing and on the same road ( Canal Road ). Both of these properties are managed by me (Jim Cate) on our VRBO site. We take a lot of pride in making sure ,as much as possible, that our guests at these 2 places are happy with their choice of staying with us. One thing that I wanted to do was provide a great place for families to stay and have a great vacation experience. My wife is a retired school teacher & I was a medical products rep/manager for about 35 yrs. I know 'GOOD SERVICE' is what helped me keep my business customers. We believe that this attitude flows thru to our guests and potential guests. Our reviews by our past guests have been 'what we had hoped for'. You, as a potential guest, will have to 'give us a try' to find out.

We hope that you will come visit.

Why Jim Cate chose Alabama

The BIG thing that stands out to a vacationer is the convenience, the beautiful waterfront view and the new pier. Not many private waterfront rentals will offer the amenities that come with 'Eagle's Landing'. You have privacy, space, free parking, waterfront with pier, boat tie-ups, fishing, crabbing, boating, swimming, skiing, sunning, floating, sailing, using your wave runners, "just hanging out", spectacular views, wildlife observations, and a certain amount of peace and quiet, especially when you are out on the pier at dawn or dusk with your favorite beverage or two, three, etc. There is a quality restaurant and Tiki bar within walking distance. There is paved sidewalk at properties' edge that runs the length of Canal Road for miles. Great for biking, walking, using a portable scooter, etc. In other words, you can get to about any place in Orange Beach on this sidewalk. Super convenient. The Wharf, cinemas, golf, entertainment, shopping, restaurants, water parks, miniature golf, etc. are all within just minutes. The Gulf of Mexico beaches are approx. 10 mins. away (depending on traffic). For those who enjoy shopping, there is a Tanger Outlet Mall approx. 30 mins. away in Foley. There is an opportunity for everyone to have fun whether you choose to stay put and enjoy the privacy or enjoy all of the available options in the area.

What makes this mobile home unique

If I had to ask myself, why would a potential guest choose this place over a condo at the beach, I would have to respond this way: (1) It is more of a family type place than a condo, even though I rent a condo of my on. (2) Our guests can invite guests and not feel too crowded. A lot of room inside and out (3) Parking is spacious, not a hassle, and at 'NO CHARGE' to you and your guests. (4) PRIVACY..Maybe some vacationers want more privacy. Well, with Eagle's Landing, they have it. (5) Maybe they want to bring a boat and not have to spend so much extra $$ for a slip and a place to park their trailer or other watercraft. (6) Maybe they resent that they have to pay for a parking pass or two, to park their vehicles, boat trailers, on premises and then later can't find an open space. (7) Maybe they want to provide a place for their kids to fish and crab or learn to ski. Maybe they want to take their kids to a place that they can see the wildlife up close. (8) Maybe they don't want to be bothered with elevators, luggage carts, and finding the trash chute. Maybe mother, sister or whoever wants a 'private' place to 'sun' and not have to contend with crowds or gawkers. (9) Multiple spaces to park just about any vehicle or trailer that you bring. Maybe they have a boat, sailboat, kayak, or wave runner or 2 they want to bring. You have access to public launches nearby for any size watercraft that you care to bring. You can even come to our place via the Intercostal Waterway in your boat, if you choose.

The answer to all of these questions is 'Eagle's Landing'. That is where I can do all of those things and more, and I won't have to dip into my 401k to accomplish it.

I can assure you that if you come to 'Eagle's Landing', you won't be 'nickeled and dimed' to death by fee after fee . Just remember not to feed any dolphins that swim close to my pier or try to feed my 4 ft. egret that likes to walk on my pier now and then. Taking pictures near them is OK

Notes:
Water Sports Lover's Paradise....PRIVATE pier with boat slip, rocking chairs, swings, water/power/sink for cleaning fish or cutting watermelon. Beautiful sunsets & fun watching porpoises, pelicans, & herons and other waterfowl from the pier. Fish from the pier or your boat. Shallow water and small private beach for the enjoyment of the youngsters....bring your own floats. Of course, you may swim if you like, but it is ' AT YOUR OWN RISK'. The bottom area is of 'a sandy mixture'. You will see water skiing, tubing, wake boarding, recreational shrimping and other water sporting activities, and swimmers who are floating on floats and tubes. Our sandy beach front has a bulkhead that has a 12' flat top area on which to sit. There are several step down areas to the sand. Little ones should bring their shovels and buckets, etc. The beach has a shallow sloping bottom that is good for small children to 'splash around' in (with adult supervision, of course).

Spectacular!

  • 5 of 5

This vacation has been so amazing! Staying at Eagle's Landing was so worth it! The view off the dock and pier was 100% one of the best here and the whole family enjoyed swimming and making sand castles at the private beach. We watched the dolphins play while sitting on the dock!! This is PERFECT for anyone wanting a more controlled enviroment than going to the main beach, which is only a couple of minutes away! We was within minutes of everything! The owner was always available to my calls or text and made sure we had everything we needed or wanted more than once. We was a family of 11 and had more than enough room for sleeping and just generally moving around. We are leaving today and already talking about our next vacation here!!!

Boaters Dream!

  • 5 of 5

While planning a family vacation and trying to include all the water toys, boat and jet skis, it seemed to be an impossible task to find a location that would allow us to bring and use all of our toys. Our entire family is much addicted to the water and all of the activities that can add enjoyment to our vacation so it was a must for us. Imagine our surprise and delight when we found "Eagle Landing" in Orange Beach, Al. It was the perfect place for us. Not only did it have a pier and covered dock, with fresh water and electricity, it also had it's own private beach. There was more than enough room to park all the cars, the boat trailer, and the jet ski trailer. The pier and dock had enough room to safely leave all of our watercraft in the water ready to use at any time we felt like it. The location was perfect for exploring the area by water, everything was so close we got to see all of the things that we had planned on. Easy public boat launch less than two miles away on marina road allowed us to put our toys in the water and get right back to the house. Gas stations all around, restaurants, shopping centers, all within the two mile run. There are even marina's and restaurants across the street. We really did not get to explore everything but it was right there if we had more time! The outside of the house is very deceiving, not delivering a great impression, but the minute you open the door and walk inside, OMG what a wonderful surprise! It was perfect! Plenty of room so you don't feel crowded, even with a large family, several tv's in the house so everyone can watch what they want, (didn't watch much) and the AC was just delightful on those very hot days in the high 90's. There is even a built in ice machine in the kitchen, so we didn't have to buy ice every day. Dealing with the owners was a delightful experience, they made you feel like a part of the family, and I actually missed seeing them while we were there. It was a great pleasure to meet them and I am looking forward to seeing them again some day. This location could not have been any better for our family vacation and I would very highly recommend this spot to any boaters or water sports enthusiasts out there!

Wonderful beach house!

  • 5 of 5

We and our friends love this beautiful and comfortable house and our kids had a lot of fun at the private pier.

The owner is very nice and friendly. He gave us a very detailed tour around Orange Beach.

If we go back to Orange Beach, we will definitely choose this house.
