Newer construction transforms a special turn of the century residence. Clean lined modernity makes excellent use of space, creating a residence with over 1000 square feet on two floors. This vacation unit features two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and comfortable contemporary furnishings.

Fully equipped and spacious cook's kitchen includes: coffee maker, refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, microwave, 5 burner gas range, and Dacor convection oven. One of a kind, 11ft Indonesian ladder trestle table situated by the gas fireplace has hosted some amazing spreads, and musical guests can enjoy looking through scores and playing the 1925 Hobart M Cable upright.

Asko washer dryer in unit with iron and board provided.

A 648 sq ft private deck is the perfect place to enjoy the Seattle sun, and gather for drinks with friends before heading out to a nearby restaurant.

Enjoying nearly 20 years on Capitol Hill, I have seen and been a part of many changes in the neighborhood. Giving restaurant or nightlife recommendations, enjoying a glass of wine and good conversation, or simply providing a map and a friendly smile are each available.

Capitol Hill is one of the fastest growing, eclectic , and accessible Seattle neighborhoods. Whether haute cuisine or happy hour, exciting night spots or specialty shopping, 1629th is a great jumping off point with Pike's Place Market and Pacific Place Shopping Center just down the Hill.

Located just blocks from Pike, Pine, and Broadway, with a walkscore of 98, this unit is perfectly situated for easily accessing all of Downtown Seattle's major attractions, while still offering you a sense of privacy inside the bustling city.

Onsite-parking, available for $15 night, must be reserved in ADVANCE of your stay. Parking reservation requests are accommodated on a first come first serve basis. Because onsite parking is limited, we highly recommend guests make arrangements when booking. Upon arrival, it is helpful to have guests provide vehicle license info upon so we can assure only authorized vehicles park on the property.

About Owner/Manager

As a Seattle native, I've spent my life exploring diverse passions: music, architecture, travel, fitness, delicious meals, and a love of world cultures. They have each influenced the creation of an oasis in Seattle's Capitol Hill urban neighborhood. Transformed with the help of a friend in 2003, a thoughful redesign and 1200 sf addition transformed this 1901 structure into a creative project that kick started my Seattle based design-build business. Travels in South Asia, Mexico, and northern Europe have afforded me many opportunities to explore the world and build lifetime relationships and a positive perspective that guides my current vocation as a Pilates Instructor and health enthusiast. From good eats to performance venues, you can always find me enjoying the company of others and partaking of the amazing offering Seattle provides it guests.

Lovely but hot

  • 3 of 5

The property was lovely. Many good restaurants within walking distance. Unfortunately we arrived in the hottest week in Seattle. The fans provided were unable to reduce the temperature of the house. It was difficult to sleep especially on the upper floor.

We really enjoyed our stay. Close to transportation.

  • 4 of 5

The house was clean, everything was in working order. We enjoyed the 'character' and Japanese feel to the design. Enjoyed the sunsets on the large rooftop porch. Not the best for anyone who has difficulty with stairs or climbing in and out of the club foot tub /shower.

Lovely, comfortable and great location

  • 5 of 5

We had 6 people staying in this space and there was plenty of room. The kitchen and dining area are especially spacious if you are looking for a place where you can cook your own meals. The deck on the back was also very spacious and a great place to hang out early in the morning or later evening when the sun was lower in the sky. The apartment was very clean and the furnishings were comfortable. And we appreciated the large, thick bath towels. The only (minor) recommendations I could make for improvement would be more hooks to hang towels and a screen on the door out to the deck and window upstairs. We happened to be here at a warmer time and needed to leave windows and doors open to cool the apartment.

Overall a great place to stay and would highly recommend!

Cool bohemian vibe in Capitol Hill

  • 5 of 5

I'll start off with the bad: the neighborhood is in some transition, with some very nice, well-kept older homes and newer apartments/condos, and some older, more dilapidated properties. The property across the street is being renovated and the front entrance was covered in plywood. Not a great look, but temporary.

The place itself, however, was a lot of fun. A lot of renovations, spacious kitchen and dining area, excellent rooftop deck, and two comfortable bedrooms. Cork floors, comfortable beds, new appliances, good breeze through the windows and patio door....just a very nice place for my family to hang after a long day of trekking around Seattle. A coop grocery and Trader Joe's are just a few blocks away along with several good restaurants, coffee shops, etc. Multiple bus stops within three blocks easily get you downtown (I recommend the Transit app to track schedules).

If you are familiar with Seattle, or if you have already stayed downtown and want to see a different neighborhood with its own feel, Capitol Hill is a fun place to stay, and this unit is a neat place. The initial impressions of the neighborhood may raise an eyebrow, but you'll be happy once you settle in, to both the unit and the neighborhood.
