9-bedroom, 6-bathroom Home and Loft (Sleeps 24)

For a close location to Downtown San Diego at a reasonable rate, look no further than our 9BR vacation home on Imperial Avenue (less than 5-minute drive from Downtown and Gaslamp Quarter). Our property was made for large group rentals. :-)

6 bedroom loft + 3 bedroom house. Houses are on the same lot; private from each other or seamlessly connected by opening the gate.

Our Front House was recently renovated in 2014. Each has fully equipped and functional kitchens in order to cook your favorite meals. The Loft has 4.5 bathrooms and 6 bedrooms currently with 13 beds (1 cal king, 3 queen, 3 full, 1 sofa (futon), 4 couches, 1 air mattress) which sleeps 16+ people. The Front House has 1.5 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms with 3 beds (1 king, 2 queen) which sleeps 6 and an additional full size foam mattress in cabana which sleeps 2 people.

In addition to the welcoming and charming interior of both Loft and Front House, each have appealing outdoor lounge space in which to enjoy the warm San Diego weather while BBQing, listening to music and partying with friends old and new. We designed the entire property with you and your guests in mind. It is fully intended for your entertainment. On the deck of the Front House, you will be pleased to find a protective cabana which includes a full-sized bed for guests who don't mind sleeping out in the fresh air. We are happy to provide you and your guests with innovative technology in both Front House and Loft to make for a spectacular yet comfortable experience.

Both properties are in conjunction with each other but may be booked separately (please inquire).

NOTE ABOUT NEIGHBORHOOD: Grant Hill is a blend of historic homes and urban renewal. Neighborhood is mostly commercial with a few residential houses on the street. The area is undergoing gentrification, so many of the buildings in the area look old and worn. Most people walking around the street are neighbors. While they might appear "seedy" or "unwelcoming", 90% of persons passing by are local business owners, young families, etc. While our property is not a beautiful area/street, it is in a safe neighborhood.

It is about a 15-20 minute trip from our home to Convention Center via the Red Trolley.

Not really family friendly

We were disappointed with the location of the houses. Upon driving down the street we were surrounded by homeless people. I would say that this property would best fit a Fraternity or a Bachelor party. The kitchen was great but there isn't even a dining table. Some bedrooms had no outside access in case of fire. We made it work for the 21 of us but I wouldn't stay there again.

Owner's Response: Hi Joanne, Thank you for your feedback. Yes, the property's neighborhood is not the greatest in the world, but we always make it a point to inform any potential guests about the area before they book. We do this by 1) telling them via email/phone when they are inquiring and 2) providing info of the neighborhood on the Property Description section of the listing. We also let inquiring guests know that our home is not a family-friendly location and is more ideal for bachelor parties, business retreats or any all-adult parties. In fact, on the Property Description we clearly state we are only interested in renting to groups 21 years or older. All of above was made known to your group at the time of booking, but you decided to go ahead and book the property. In regards to the bedroom exits. It must be made clear that our property has been built to City of San Diego building code and allows for the ample amount of exits in case of fire, etc. in the front and back of the property. I doubt there are many (if any) private vacation rentals where every bedroom has an outdoor exit. However, we are happy to hear you were able to make the rental work, and we welcome your family to return at any time (once your kids are 21 years are older).

Fantastic place!!!!

This place was perfect for our weekend in San Diego. There was a large group of us and it accommodated us all comfortably. It has large patio spaces with outdoor speakers, a BBQ, and no neighbors to complain about noise! It's also close to everything…downtown, Pacific Beach, and Ocean Beach are all a short distance away. The doors and gates also have combination locks so you don't have to worry about losing keys! Awesome place!!!

I really liked staying here. Seems like it's brand new. The outside area is great for bbqing/hanging out w/ friends. Close to downtown.... What more could you want?

Great Space

Stayed here for a bachelor party recently and it was totally awesome. It was really close to the airport, so it was really easy to get in and out.

There was plenty of space, so there was plenty of room for everyone. It was really close to downtown, so it was a great jumping off point.

The owner was super cool too, and really accommodating. Highly recommend.

Really Close to Downtown SD and Super Cute House :)

I enjoyed my stay at this comfy, cozy house! It was clean and included fine amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen. I was able to prepare my own meals and entertained a few friends outside in the private front yard before heading to downtown. This was a well done, newly renovated home. Although, it's on a busy street, I have to say that the tall fences, outside decor and landscaping made me forget that I was on that street!

Perfect Weekend House (near downtown!)

This newly renovated spot was perfect for a fun weekend getaway with friends. It was easy to get to from the freeway and we were able to get in and out of downtown hotspots within minutes. It had plenty of beds and couch space to fit our group comfortably. The front patio was a great area to barbeque and lounge around in. Definitely try out this place!

Any and all cancellations within 30 days of the arrival date will only be refunded if a third party reserves the same dates as the Occupant's reservation and at the same rental rate. If the third party reserves part of the Occupant's reserved dates, or pays a lower rental rate, only the amount received by Good Life Retreats will be refunded to the Occupant.
