Have you stayed in enough multi-story condos or apartments? Seeking something a bit different ... like nobody trudging around above your head or hearing stuff through the walls ... or not being able to park securely right at your front door? How about a quiet, quaint, private, completely renovated guest house in an upscale neighborhood right in Central Phoenix? Wow ... what a great idea!

Built in 1959 in an irrigated grapefruit orchard on the outskirts of young Phoenix, the Biltmore Heights subdivision was eventually engulfed by the ever expanding metropolis to now be ... in the center of the city. This 1/3 acre property called Casa Verde is a fine example of early Phoenix ranch house masonry architecture that also includes a matching guest house - My Biltmore Bungalow. This spacious, well-designed, 933 square foot, 2 bedroom, 1 bath bungalow is a playful mix of mission arts and crafts detailing, mid-century Kopenhavn wall-hung furniture and family memorabilia.

In the great room, relax to the warm glow of a romantic fire in the large Arizona stone fireplace, dim the coffer lights on the hand-painted sky ceiling and pump-up the powerful 7.1 channel surround sound home theater with 42” HDTV. The fully-equipped kitchen boasts a dual compartment sink, disposer, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, electric range with microwave above, toaster oven, coffee maker and all the pots, pans, bowls, dishes, glasses, cutlery and supplies you might need. The master bedroom has a memory-foam-topped queen mattress, its own 32” flat screen TV, loads of closet space and a sliding glass door with black-out drapes to the bungalow's private covered patio and yard. The 2nd smaller multi-use room includes a dresser, writing desk, 32" flat screen TV, large closet and a comfy daybed. It's perfect as an office, quiet get-a-way or private bedroom for a 3rd in your group. A 4rth person can be accomodated on the roll-out trundle, but makes the room a bit tight. (Rental rate is for two guest - an additional fee is required for a 3rd and 4th guest).

In addition to all the above, My Biltmore Bungalow IS dog friendly (certain breeds not allowed). Two housebroken, well-behaved companions can come with you and have a pet door to a secure private yard.

But wait ... it gets even better! An enclosed parking space in the large, attached RV garage can be yours for an extra two bucks ($2) per day! Bring your hot rod along for all the winter car shows and auctions including Barret-Jackson, Russo-Steele, RM and more.

And if that is not enough, for all you model railroad buffs, the shared yard includes a large garden railroad. Bring your Standard, O or G gauge trains for days of operating fun while taking in the myriad of local train shows and swaps all winter long.

MBB is available for short or long term rentals at very favorable rates - less than most other apartment/condo units in this area. Do not expect the latest granite/stainless/bla bla fad. It is a 58 year old property with roots - and more than its share of real charm. Occasionally the roof creaks and pops; expanding, contracting, fighting a wind or shedding rain. It's just MBB saying; 'You're safe in my embrace'.

Electricity, water, Dish Network TV with DVR and Encore movie channels, high-speed WIFI, weekly towel/sheet exchange and yard maintenance is included in the pricing. Weekly or bi-monthly maid service can be added at additional expense, if desired.

MBB is located 15-20 minutes North of Sky Harbor Airport, and is within minutes to the Arizona Biltmore Resort and numerous nationally ranked golf courses. Centrally located, the property is close to Downtown restaurants, Tempe, Paradise Valley, Arcadia, Scottsdale shopping and nightlife, dining, bars, groceries, coffee shops, banks, libraries and galleries, Camelback Mountain and Piestewa Peak hiking, Phoenix Civic Center, Heard Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Herberger Theater, Chase Field, US Airways Arena, Arizona State University, public transportation, Orpheum Theater, Steele Park and Margaret T. Hance Park. Nearby: Baseball Spring Training, West World Arabians and Bike Week, Barrett-Jackson, RM and Russo-Steele auto auctions, mountain biking, motorcycling, as well as horseback riding located at South Mountain Park. Additionally, the Fiesta Bowl, Cactus Bowl and Insight Bowl stadiums are less than 20 minutes away.

About Glenn Saber

Hello from Glenn! I grew up in Chicago before moving to Arizona in 1972 to study architecture at the University of Arizona. Several years after opening my own practice in Phoenix, I purchased Casa Verde and moved my busy office into its wonderful bungalow where we worked for 20 years. Now retired, I personally designed and remodeled the bungalow into this spacious, quality rental.

Beyond architecture, I am very active with toy train collecting and operating, sport motorcycling, Willys Overland trucks, hot-rods, music, percussion, audio, video ... and my small Coton De Tulear dog Chaz :-)

I looked for a permanent home for years before stumbling upon Casa Verde. There is something very special going on here. Relaxing, peaceful, unassuming, content, embracing. Could it be because it's ... green? Actually, Casa Verde is more of a compound than a home as the large bungalow, multiple fruit trees, garden railroad and abundant parking, make this property multipurpose. The central location is magnificent - close to everything - shopping, banks, entertainment, highways, parks, etc. Move? Where would I go? Why? This is my home.

What makes this bungalow unique

When in season, 1,000 incredibly juicy grapefruit and 50 oranges. Pick a few for breakfast before taking a peaceful walk along the canal with your dog. View Camelback Mountain and awesome sunsets. What a great, quiet and secure neighborhood.

Adorable bungalow in great location, felt like home!

How can we thank Glenn enough for our wonderful stay at My Biltmore Bungalow? The place is sparkling clean and beautifully decorated--like a Pottery Barn postcard! Glenn is a welcoming and attentive host, but gives you your space. We were lucky enough to be there during one of the McDonald's/ Scottsdale cruise-ins, and since Glenn and Larry knew we love classic cars, they invited us to join them! Friendly, personal, warm and inviting hosts and a cozy cottage in a lovely north Phoenix neighborhood--these are some of the reasons why we loved this VRBO experience, and why we will DEFINITELY be returning to My Biltmore Bungalow!

Love it sooo much

Enjoyed my stay for year number 3. Will look forward to many more. Bungalow is perfect size, clean and comfy. Comfortable, airy, lots of light. Full kitchen works great for the family pizza maker! Neighborhood quiet, great for those hours I like sun tanning. Glen and company are a pleasure to know. Can't beat the location for getting out and around Phoenix. 17 minutes from airport. Can't say enough about the pleasure.

The Only Place to Stay in Phoenix

Incredible place to be. We live in Phoenix, but needed a rental while our house was being renovated. Has everything you need to be at home, there was not a single thing we had to ask for, it was all there. perfect place to stay if you have a small dog, private yard with a doggie door, literally wouldn't have survived this time with Glenn and his Bungalow. The guys are great, the place is perfect and if you need a central place to stay, this is it!!!

Comfortable, convenient, just like home!

Thank you Glenn and Larry for another comfy visit. The quiet of the property and neighborhood was perfect for our visit. Everything about the place is like home-from privacy to sleeping to cooking to lounging in the sun. We enjoyed the closeby eateries and the ease of getting to the highway for airport pick up or a day trip. We appreciate your cordiality and look forward to another visit and a finished truck! Give Chaz a head scratch for us.
