About Karen

We love finding very unique properties and transforming them into places that are casually elegant, yet feel warm and inviting to our guests. We originally lived on Lake Sammamish 30+ years ago and thoroughly enjoyed the family atmosphere and recreational experiences the lake offered. We LOVE to share with others and to make old and new friends alike feel special by serving them with an element of gracious hospitality. We warmly welcome you to this home through Karen, our amazingly dedicated and guest-oriented property manager. She will take care of your reservations, greet you upon your arrive with keys and quick tour of the home, provide recommendations for restaurants & activities in the area and take care of any special requests to help make your stay a memorable occasion.

Karen purchased this house in 2013

Why Karen chose Sammamish

Prior to our purchase, this property remained in the same family for over 62 years. Within 24 hours of being listed for sale in late 2013, there were multiple offers from buyers who wanted to tear down the original house and replace it with a mega-mansion, which the property could easily support. When viewing the property for the first time, we immediately felt like we were transported back to a simpler era. Due to this powerful feeling, we informed the Seller if our offer was accepted, we would maintain the legacy his family began and keep the home intact. Our offer was accepted and now it's our turn to share this beautiful place. New stories are ready to be told and memories made. We are so grateful for the possibility to share this property with you.

What makes this house unique

Amazingly convenient location, total privacy, direct, (and private) access to E. Lake Sammamish Trail, (Cycling and walking), beautiful sandy beach, abundant waterfowl and eagle viewing, numerous outdoor 'retreat' spaces, towering trees and lovely gardens, breathtaking sunsets, covered porch, expansive outdoor deck, warm summer water temps and crystal clear water, private outdoor dining pavilion, solitude, spotless, all new fixtures and appliances, designer furniture and bedding. Plus, Karen, the most gracious and caring property manager that you will EVER encounter.

Best ever vacation!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I returned yesterday from a most wonderful relaxing fun holiday week at this fantastic property. Some of our children and grandchildren joined us for the vacation-- I know I can speak for them as well-- this property is amazing! Everything you could possible want ( row boat, paddle boards, bikes, hot tub, BBQ, cooking utensils, etc., was readily available for our pleasure and enjoyment. My husband loved fishing off the dock, the grand kids played in the lake all day . Several quality grocery stores were within a short drive. Those of us so inclined also took advantage of a great location and drove into Seattle (30 min drive) for the day. An added bonus was the duck family who came swimming by everyday and the beautiful eagles who would perch in the tree in the back. We all left to go back to our mundane routines with a special smile for the exceptional family time we had at the lake.

Gorgeous lake house

  • 5 of 5

We couldn’t be happier to get to stay at this beautiful house on Lake Sammamish. I rented the property for my extended family who visited from another country. They fell in LOVE with the house and wish they could have stayed longer. The house is well decorated. The view is stunning. The owner was very kind and thought of every little detail which made our stay so memorable. We would definitely rent this property again and would highly recommend this to everyone.

Amazing lakeside retreat

  • 5 of 5

I would absolutely stay here again. The place is well stocked, and the beds are super comfortable. We didn't get to take advantage of the outside amenities, with the exception of the hot tub. It was a cold weekend in February, but the hot tub and the fireplace made this a cozy winter retreat.

The perfect getaway spot.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay here. Every little detail was perfect, the owners thought of everything. Literally anything we needed was there and the home was so very comfortable. The location was great, the view was wonderful and the house so inviting, relaxing and decorated in the perfect amount of modern/comfortable with classic cabin touches. We came when the weather was cool and rainy (classic winter weather) - so the fireplace was our favourite spot for our time there. Hope to come again when we can enjoy all the outdoor things offered up and maybe to stay longer!

Car: necessary

Lake Sammamish is located in the heart of the recreational triangle of Puget Sound. Besides staying on 100' of private beachfront and directly on the E. Lake Sammamish Trail, this property is just 30 minutes to D/T Seattle, 20 minutes to world class shopping at Bellevue Square, and 15 minutes to over 100 wineries/wine tasting venues in the serene Woodinville Wine Country and a fantastic array of restaurants. Tour Chateau Ste. Michelle winery (attend one of their outdoor concerts in the Summer) or the adjacent Redhook Brewery is a must-see and only 15 minutes away in the beautiful Woodinville Valley. Cycle to Marymoor Park and link up to the Burke-Gilman Trail and ride all the way into and around Seattle via Lake Washington or other routes; Get acquainted with Seattle via ferry, the famous Pike Place Market; hike up nearby Tiger Mountain (via the 'Cable Line' route if you are fit and adventurous!); take a drive to Mt. Rainier, or simply hang out at The Cabin and do nothing but relax, swim, take Zelda out for a row for fun or Smallmouth Bass fishing, check out the eagle that perches in the Cottonwood on the property, or just listen to the soothing rhythm of the waves on the sand. It's all good.
