Please send an inquiry if you want a rate quote for a different period or look under Rates on this web page. The most important thing that I wish to convey early on is that we realize that you are on a budget. If you find a better rate from someone else, we ask that you give us an opportunity to beat their price. Just let us know what it is and their web address. Thank you. If you are looking for fall or winter rates, please check the note section under RATES

Need I say more? If you are like me I would rather stay at home if you can't stay oceanfront. If that is the case, then you've come to the right place. I want to wake up in the morning and see the ocean first thing. I want to drink my coffee while looking at the ocean.

This is truly an amazing place. Property values have yet to sky rocket into the stratosphere like the rest of the East Coast, which translates into a down-to-earth rental rate for you. You won’t experience the parking lot roadways so common in busy beach communities. While that’s all well and good, let’s be honest about the most important thing of all.

Here is a place that, figuratively-speaking, has a ‘temperature of 200 degrees’, melting away in the first moments you arrive all the trials and tribulations of the ‘real’ world. This is the place that, for a moment you become one with nature, where your batteries will get a good, very good, recharging. You can catch your breath.

You can turn to a loved one and say those three beautiful words. It is a mountaintop experience that prepares you to return to the valley where the work gets done. So how does it happen? Looking and walking beside the ocean, being surrounded in our condo by the very nicest things (over and over our guests have said how comfortable our place makes them feel) and lastly, enjoying our island which is, in part, a Nature Preserve (watch for the eagle and her nest).

You are standing, not sitting in the 'catbird seat'. Have you counted how many one bedroom places are available through VRBO for Harbor Island? I hope you have time to read them all. I promise you will learn a lot. Here is why we love our place and why we hope you will consider us above the rest. Our price is better. Our living room AND MASTER BEDROOM are oceanfront. We are completely redone inside.

There are a few things you must promise to do: stop at Gay’s Fresh Seafood, take the Carriage Ride in Beaufort, eat at Steamers, get up for a sunrise and take a nap in the afternoon. Enough bragging; come see for yourself.

Great Condo

We have stayed at Harbor Island several times. It is a beautiful, peaceful and quiet location and we love it. D building is truly Ocean Front and this condo has two decks to sit, read and watch the ocean. You can walk the beach all the way around the Island and enjoy every step! This condo is perfectly equipped and all furniture was comfortable and clean. We will be back soon!!

My husband and I arrived at Cedar reef on Harbour Island and found a very clean inviting cozy comfortable condo. The layout was exactly as shown and very inviting. We enjoyed our first morning cup of coffee with nothing but peace and quiet beautiful sound of nature. With our second cup of coffee we made our way to the beachfront where we found a beautiful beach and atmosphere to surround. Throughout the next four days we drank in the serenity of Harbor Island and the coziness of our condo. We departed knowing that we would make Harbor Island an annual October trip for us. And the plan to stay in the same condo if possible..

Dream Week

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent our first vacation every by ourselves. It took 31 years. The condo is just as pretty as the pictures. As soon as I opened the door I knew this was going to be good. Very nice size perfect for two people. Bed was very comfy. Very clean, relaxing, beachy style décor. Loved the Bedroom. Watched the sun come up every morning. We really enjoyed the deck and watching all the birds.

The beach was great and the birds were migrating. We saw maybe hundreds of pelicans at the end of the beach. If you go into town eat at the Foolish Frog. The food is great and the staff there were so nice and a really fun atmosphere. Thad is the manager he was great. Also definitely go into Beaufort and walk through town to check out all the beautiful homes. You must try to eat at the Beaufort Inn. It is beautiful, but it is BYOB. Also check out Charleston (if you feel like driving). Wonderful time very relaxing. Just Beautiful scenery everywhere you look. Loved it. Thanks so much Linda.

A Few Big Problems

  • 3 of 5

Loved the cute beachy accents in this first floor rental! The king bed, padded rocking chair, and patio chairs were comfortable, but the saggy sofa/sofa bed have seen better days. Owner has supplied books, movies, and games. The ocean can be seen when one is standing, but when seated it is hidden behind the bushes on the dunes. Ocean waves can be heard at high tide. Be very careful in the shower or tub as there is NO cold water and the hot water is dangerously hot. Right front burner of the stove has a broken switch, so only works periodically. Unfortunately, as was reported in May 2013, the oven had serious problems. After less than 10 minutes of cook time, it would flash F2, F3, and F5 alarms before shutting itself off. This time there was no quick fix, even with the help of the GE customer service people. Baking, roasting, and broiling were impossible my entire three week stay. Even cook a turkey on the stove top? Not fun! Owner was out of the country and the brother left in charge was reluctant to authorize repairs. Kudos to wonderful housekeeper Susan who fought for authorization! The repairman came a day before I went home ill. The repair was not successful, but Susan assured me it would be handled for the next renters. Thank you, Susan! You are the reason this is a 3 star rating instead of a 2.

Owner's Response: We are certainly sorry for the problems the above renter experienced. The even had worked on and off over the last 6 months but not being a high priority for the summer renters it was difficult to find the time to get fixed. Bottom line a new stove will be in by November one. As far as the hot water in the tub is concerned it has been fixed. The sofa bed is a sofa bed. Be advised. It does have a memory foam mattress however best for heavy sleepers and children. One thing the renter and we agree on is our housekeeper is terrific and will do anything in her power to make your stay comfortable. Again our sincere apologies for a less than stellar stay.

Relaxing, Relaxing, Relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our long-weekend getaway was great at this well maintained condo. The boardwalk to the beach offered a chance to see many kinds of birds and lots of talking frogs. Beach had very few people with a large afternoon "pool" that the children loved to play in. Waves were not large at the time of year we were there. Don't miss Hunting Island, only a couple miles away, the vegetation is fascinating. Rocking recliners on the deck were the best and Linda was great to work with. Thank you!

Four and 1/2 Stars, actually

  • 4 of 5

Our first vacation without kids in 30 years couldn't have been at a nicer place. Quiet, but not isolated, out of the way but easy to get to, lots to do, nothing to do. The condo was well cared for and well equipped, however you need to bring your own hangers. The owner is so pleasant, easy to work with, and easy to reach. The two minute walk to the beach across the marsh was perfect. The frogs in the marsh at night were our entertainment. The living room couch is a little lumpy, but the bed is FABULOUS! All week long we kept saying "This is great," and it was.
