house was clean, cute and close to everything!

  • 3 of 5

We loved this clean, cute and close to everything home. Kelly was very responsive and great to offer suggestions on places to visit during our stay. Our only negative is that there is no TV. Although a password for Internet is provided, the service was not easy to get on. With young children, it's useful to be able to watch basic TV channels for early morning risers. Other than that, we loved it!

We had a great stay

  • 5 of 5

We chose this location partly because we used to live just down the road and wanted to revisit our old neighborhood now that we have kids old enough (5 1/2 and 3) to enjoy the Cape.

First the house, a rather typical Cape cottage equipped with all the basics plus some for a pleasant stay. The house was very clean upon arrival. The kitchen was more than adequately equipped for all the cooking we wanted, and allowed us to cook home style meals (lasagna and chicken soup) for the week, saving us a good bit on eating out. Also, having linens available laundry machines allowed us to pack very lightly. Two real bedrooms, plus the un-insulated upstairs and basement which we didn't use. We used the linens provided with no problems. ( Allow time for washing them on departure day, the machines are on the small side)The House comes with a pretty good selection of kids games and toys, including yard and beach toys. We took advantage of the beach toys especially as we had traveled light. Our only complaint about the house is the wifi connection. If you really need it you will be frustrated. Its almost not there at all.

Second, the location. We already loved Falmouth having lived there for seven years so it was an easy choice as a town. It has amazing playgrounds (Goodwill park for one) which have all been updated in recent years. The public library is really world-class, with a great playground and carousel just across the street. The town has many, and I mean a lot ,of great restaurants, ranging from Indian, Thai and sushi ( Homeport Sushi is wonderful) to European style fine-dining. Most of the downtown is a WiFi hotspot with a decent signal depending on volume. The town boasts a great number of beaches that each have their own flavor. The house is located on the "better" side of Rt 28, meaning that you don't have to cross 28 to get almost anywhere, on or off Cape. As a former local, this can be a big deal depending on traffic. Located in a very quiet residential neighborhood with only local traffic, it was perfect for small kids.

We would stay here again. For a family of our size, (2 adults, 2 small kids), it was perfect. The owner was responsive to our questions and although we didn't need her we felt that she was available. It more than met our expectations and her description. Thanks for a wonderful week!

A cute clean cottage correctly characterized

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this Falmouth property. The property description was generally accurate (see comments) and overall I would give a 4.5 star rating. It was very clean and well maintained with full kitchen amenities, including pots, pans, dishwasher, and the misc knifes etc generally needed to cook. We ate in every day of our stay. The grill had gas with a backup tank (not needed) in the barn. Parking is ample, and the location, a few miles out of town, is in a residential type neighborhood. The back yard is quite large and fairly private.

We were 5 persons for 1 night and 3 persons for the remaining nights, one sleeping in the attic which got very hot as accurately noted in the property description. The attic did cool quickly in the evening. The attic was preferred over the basement which was a little cool this early in the season.

The owner was quick to answer the few questions we had and prompt with the security deposit refund.

Comments:

1: While not needed over memorial weekend I did not see air-conditioning, it looks like there may be an AC installation in progress?

2: The coffee maker is a 1 or 2 cup personal size which required many brew cycles for the 3/5 of us there.

3: We used the property provided sheets and washed them our last day, the caution is that washing and drying takes a significant amount of time and be sure to plan for that in your schedule for your last day.

My wife and I hiked the local Woods Hole to N Falmouth rail trail and the Cape Cod Canal side path both would be interesting for biking too.

We certainly would recommend this cottage to anyone who is looking for a value accommodation that fits the description provided at VRBO.

Everything worked! Just right for us for 2 nights!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I needed an affordable, well organized, small house for a weekend with relatives, and that is exactly what we got. It is in a quiet neighborhood off Sandwich Road, very well kept, you can drive right up to the side door and unload. Extremely convenient! The queen sized bed was just dandy, the bathroom was clean, we cooked breakfasts and the kitchen was totally well supplied with what we needed. A real pleasure and we shall see that house again, for sure! Thanks, Kelly!

Super clean and pleasant

  • 4 of 5

The house was absolutely spotless. Bed was comfy and everything was thoughtfully laid out for guests. The owner was responsive and pleasant to deal with. My only complaint was very limited wifi which caused a bit of frustration.
